32ct Water lily Jobelan, DMC thread as charted

I started this in June of 2008 and got side tracked by so many other projects.

I treated myself today and got an OTT light.

Mine comes with an added magnifier and is now in a happy spot next to my bed so I can stitch in bed and easily move it around either the house or stitch outings.

Im now working on Midnight Watch – re-charted the last row of the alphabet, year and my initials.

Thank you for all the encouragement on PS Alphabet project.  I am looking forward to starting on this sometime this year.

Now to work out what to stitch on the train tomorrow.

Just a little light

Thats all Im wanting for the bed room so when I have days/nights like now, I can drag my stitching into the bedroom and act like Im really going to get down to business and stitch!  Of course what will really happen in no less than 5 min is the cushiness of the bed will drag me down in to sleep-land as it does so well :oP

Lets hear it for good intentions!

Stitchy updates!

Midnight Watch – I brought this out tonight during Nutty Holiday group at A&T and added more buds on the inside border.

Midnight Watch 1-19-10 Needleworker has been a train stitch while working on the bottom border.  Other than the border Ive only the leaves, flowers and small heart to finish and this will be done!  May be my first of 2010

Needleworker 1-19-10 And finally a wonderful stretched out pic of Lilith taking a snooze under my desk.  I just couldnt help myself :op

P1010363 Im off to do a good impression of Lilith, except in my bed.

Weekend update

Quick update on stitchy progresses from the week.

Quaker Study - finished the flowers over the line of alphabet completed during the weekend.

Quaker Study 1-16-10 Midnight Watch - this one was causing me so much grief.  I had a wonderful friend even take it from me last Tuesday to see if she could find the missing stitch.  We ended up agreeing that it was just meant to be – so I hid it as best I could.

Midnight Watch 1-16-10 Home of a Needleworker – I had hoped to have this completed this weekend but it doesnt seem to be.  I am damn close though!  The bottom border should be great for stitching on the train.

Needleworker 1-16-10 Had family over for dinner tonight – last b-day gathering for me this year.  Pizza and fruit salad.  Pizza was ok but the salad was wonderful.  Will need to remember the fruit combo for the future. mmm mango :o)

A pain, a fall and updates

The pain this time is due to classes at 24hr fitness.  D and I joined Sunday and today was my second class.  A bit better than the first, I was able to move down the stairs today instead of wanting to roll.  Why have classes upstairs in a gym is completely beyond me.  I took Tuesday off 1) for stitch group (priorities man!) and 2) needed to give my poor bod a tiny break between killings.  Tomorrow is a spinning class (yea, more leg muscle work = ouch).

Its a necessary evil.  I hope to be sleeping better (even more after the new mattress), new clothes (more fun shopping for stuff on the fun side of 1x), and more energy.

The gym we are going to has a class during the hrs we can attend every day of the week.  So there is always something we can do.

I received Anna’s drawing win over the weekend.  Love the earthy colors and now need to find something to go with them.

The fall.  Not physical body falling, more of my wallet against a counter.  My wonderful friend Elizabeth showed me Nora’s M yesterday at stitch group (for her mother).  We didnt think that A&T would get the new letters so quick.  Silly us.  So after helping her with the fun act of tossing threads I had to have some fun of my own.

I didnt like the colors used for the N so I picked blues in place of the yellow & gold and currently have large green beads but may change those to blue in place of gold.  The N is for my niece Nikki.  Would be wonderful if I could finish this and a K for my sister’s girls by Christmas.

Updates – many updates for you.

Home of a Needleworker came out for the first time in over 6 months Tuesday.  I was able to get a bit done before the thread tossing started.

Needleworker 5-5-09

Tanglewood has been a regular on the train and during lunch at work.  I wasnt able to work on the train today – rainy forecast has made the train more like a sardine can, wet and cramped.  Bad place for bringing out projects.  I was able to complete another branch (minus leaves) since last update.

Tanglewood 5-6-09

Now off to get Nora’s N started :op

Canned Nuts

Last night was the final summer Canned Nuts (all night stitching) at A&T. Some started at 10am and stitched on thru to midnight. I got there after 2pm and only lasted til 11ish pm. It was hellishly HOT but we had about 7-8 die-hards that toughed it out and stayed outside during the day.

AND I finally got to meet Sonda!

I worked on a bunch of stuff yesterday.

Finally got tired of Sunflower house and broke out Celtic Autumn. No pic as I only added a couple lines before putting it away. Still needing gold beads, which should be in A&T later next week.

Mine all Mine got some loving last night - added most of the dark green shown in the pic above.

And finally a pic update of Needleworker!

Today has been a bit like yesterday - playing Titan Quest, bit of stitching and playing with my new phone (HTC Tilt). I have web access again! So needed for MAX tracker. Also got it setup for blogging so I may be posting snippets throughout the day when the mood hits rather than trying to remember the funny I wanted to share and not able to.

Thx for stopping by!

Game playing/Olympic watching

Small stitching night.

Spent part of the night leveling a character in Titan Quest. D is already up to 19. I made it to 12 (up from 9) before calling it a night.

I did finish the house on Sunflower House. Have the remaining flowers and specialty stitches remaining! W00T!

Needleworker came out to play and I finished all the words (had a letter A left ) and heart as well as upper case D. Not much but got a bit stitched.

While stitching got to watch Phelps swim (yup, another gold) and the highlights of the women's gymnastics all-rounds(?) How do they jump so high?? Now catching the FASTEST MAN in the world. And they make it look so easy (*sigh)

A big thanks to all your wonderful comments on Sunflower House.

A very stitchy weekend

So relaxing this weekend, I was able to sit back and stitch most of Sat and Sun.

LHN's Neighborhood was worked on at stitch group Sat (at A&T) I fixed the tree and was able to add most of the leaves.

I paused by A&T Friday, looking for a Christmas gift that had sunflowers on it and Jennifer kindly showed me Sunflower House by Cathy Jean. I couldnt let too much time go by to get started (hard to do when a kitted project is in the house!)

I have words

completed on Needleworker. Home and Needleworker. Weird choices I know but easier to complete. AND since Im off 1/2 a sitch (somewhere in needleworker) getting the of a and the heart started may work my brain a bit harder than originally planned. *sigh

no pictures as I just finished the R and as a reward Im going to bed a bit early tonight :P

As for the asthma issues, Dr appt is scheduled for Monday. Until then Im up for the extreme jitters from the inhalers. They make it much harder for my fingers to do what my brain demands when typing (a must at work) or needlework.

Wonderful, fun,

summer cold. DL started it and just had to share. So now I sound like there is a toad stuck in my throat while he is dealing with constant coughing. Good thing is it seems to be limited to just us.

I did find the energy to pull out Needleworker and stitch the w and part of o - before finding I was off 1/2 stitch *sigh. Ive decided it needs the extra character and Im leaving the parts just a bit off kilter.

So off to bed to try and get as close to 8 hrs as I can...

The stitches are OUT!

well, for D they are and boy is he relieved! He has clearance to start light duty at work next Monday with full duties couple weeks after that. At the moment he is loving life as his new XPS laptop arrived early (and he has almost a whole week to play before heading back to work) So we are in full mode of getting files transferred so everyone can "shift/upgrade" computers. DL cannot wait as he will finally have his OWN computer :).

For dinner, D cooked Chicken Cordon Bleu and I steamed some fresh green beans. YUMMMM!! DL inhaled his food, almost as quickly as Mac & Cheese. P was indifferent (we made him turn off the games). I was in heaven. Its just too bad this dish will be a once in a while due to the fat content... D says he will do Chicken Kiev later this week and he has plans to cook a triple layer brownie cake (MMMM) and a poppy seed bunt for P's b-day this weekend. Lord help me (lol)

Not much stitching completed tonight. I did work a bit on Needleworker this morning at the Dr's but then had to hop on and work when we got home. I have been extremely lax in working any of the ornie sals I am on. Im trying to find my Christmas spirit but its hard when its in the 80's & 90's outside and Freezing in the house.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Updates, a bit late

I had a productive week and weekend as far as projects go. Worked on Happy Home, A Friend AND Needleworker! (booya!)
Most of this week was spent on A Friend as Im trying to get it completed (for an Aug b-day gift) and to clear a spot in my line up for P's stocking (all kitted up and no place to go :( ).
And to top it all off I managed (with lots of help from P) to move my Great-Grandmother's wash stand into the house and place all my stitchy supplies on/in/around it. I had the perfect spot, just needed the man power to get it there :)

With the furniture move, DL received the mother-load of self-reader series such as Captain Underpants, Dragonslayer's Academy, Magic Tree House and Secrets of Droon (to name but a few). They have become too easy for P to read and DL has been wanting to get one or several whenever we hit the book stores (which seems to be weekly this summer). They had to be unloaded from the wash stand (and matching dresser that hasnt made it in the house yet) so it could be moved.
Another shout-out to Aunty R! Happy Anniversary!! I had to promise not to say ANYTHING here about the surprise party the kids put on for you but I do have to say, DUH! not like they havent done that before :P Hope you had a great time and I sorry I missed it.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Needleworker house ready for moving day

The house is complete! Glass was finally installed while watching Deadliest Catch (now that can be hard to do!) and the house is now ready for the owners to move in and make themselves comfy.
I was able to run over to Acorns & threads today and talk with Jeannine on thread placement for P's stocking. Heather had a great suggestion that I find the middle of the pattern and the middle of the fabric and go to town. Sad to say that I had been a "start in the middle" kind-of gal until about 4-5 projects ago when I finally learned the trick of starting on the left upper corner and my brain just couldnt think about starting in the middle!!! So after talking with Jeannine, we found both the middle of the pattern and where to start at the top. Both types of instructions are written down (so as I cant forget!) for when I actually start the darn thing.

While I was at the LNS I picked up fabric for an Aunt's Christmas present, final thread for the STOCKING (shiny treasure thread, oooohhhh) and more project holders (can NEVER have enough of those!!!)
Thanks for stopping by :)

Happy, busy Friday

I got a lot accomplished today. I did head into work for a few hours, leaving D & DL by themselves at home while P was at Billy's overnight. I was able to complete a nasty SQL report that was stretching my noob SQL brain to the limit, fix a couple of issues and talk to Dev about a new one. Waiting for me at work were 2 magazines, JCS Sept/Oct 2007 with Tanglewood and JCS 2208 Ornie preview issues! (insert girlish squeal here).

Then after I got home, made sure everyone was still in one piece (:D) I ran errands, which of course included a fly by of Acorns & Threads to order fabric and the thread pack for Tanglewood. While there I got another surprise...my order from M Designs was in! W00t!

Friday turned out to be a good stash day

I havent been too keen on doing any stitching since D's surgery, too tired to do much of anything. BUT I did get more of the house on Needleworker completed this evening. The framing of the windows and door is complete, just finishing up on the siding before the door and glass are added.

Thanks for stopping by :)
