Check another item off

Ive found another item to check off my Ive seen it all list.  A full size Pink Barbie Jeep, complete with Mattel license plate.  Some day I may get a picture (it lives just down the street), but for now you will just have to imagine it :o)

Only stitch update I have for the moment is Cirque des Carreaux.  I got two more motifs complete, a med diamond and part of one of the big diamonds.

Got a couple new things.

First

    The new Iphone 4.  I was so ready to replace my HTC Tilt.  Im getting used to the all in one, phone and ipod.  Felt weird not carrying around my clunky 4 gen ipod but nice all the same, one less item to carry around.

Next   that goes with this The thread on the left is outline for all.  Middle is for center circles and right is for all other center circles.  Fabric is Lakeside Linen 36ct Vintage Lime Zest.  Cant wait to get started on it.

That is all for updates now.  Tomorrow we are off to celebrate a great Aunt’s 93rd birthday and staying over with cousins we have not seen in a long time.  Then Sunday I may stitch at the county fair with a good friend and hopefully share the fun of stitching with new people.

Weekend updates

Had a good stitchy weekend.  Met friends at A&T for the usual Saturday summer stitch group then decided to join another friend at the Washington County fair.  Went from hot with some wind to hot with no wind as we were inside.  This was my first time at this county’s fair and I wish I would have stopped in earlier (as in last year) as the number of cross stitch entries was abysmal!  I dont think there were 20 entries.  So I will be trying to remember next year, June, we are going to pester the gals in the shop and see if we cant get more submissions! 

I recall all the submissions I saw at the fair (neighboring county) growing up and I guess I was intimidated by memories and didnt think anything I do could stand up.  So much for that!

On to items Ive been working on…

Cirque des Carreaux – I worked a bit on this over the weekend.  The dark fabric is making my eyes buggy :o)

Nora’s Letter R – Ive been working on this throughout the week, when I had the energy (darn heat wave!).  Found a nasty frog while stitching at the fair (bugger!), so its thread pulling time…

New Start

I couldnt wait.  The threads were finally in and even though I need to finish something (anything) I just couldnt wait!

Say hello to my version of Cirque des Carreaux!

Fabric is 30ct Garnet by Weeks and thread is Elderberry by Caron.  I thought hard about doing this project in silks but just couldnt find a combo that was close enough to Elderberry for my liking.

Time will tell how long this takes me to do.  Its not easy to see, actually need a black cloth underneath to see the holes better and the fabric pills and leaves droppings like you wouldnt believe (dont think I’ll go back to Weeks) but the color is just wonderful.
