Hubby's Trip to the ER

Posted by abie on 12:57 PM in ,
Last Sunday, hubby had a minor accident when he bumped his foot on our stairs. I thought that it was nothing serious as it always happens to me. But hubby has high tolerance for pain and so when he complains, I know that he is really hurting. And when I looked at his foot, it is already swollen.

@ the Xray Department@ SLMC QC ER

So we went to the emergency Room of St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City to have his foot check. He had undergone X-ray and the doctor gave him pain reliever via IV. The X-ray results revealed that there is no fracture and it is only a sprain so we are really thankful. The doctor just prescribed pain reliever if he will still feel pain and just recommends that we consult our preferred physician if the swelling and pain persists.

We were not able to go to work Monday because of our trip to the ER but that is just okay. We are thankful that it is nothing serious like the pain and trauma that mesothelioma survival brings to the patient, and we are happy that at least we were able to just stay at home, rest and spend some time with the kids while the husband recuperates from his injury.

Toys for the Big Boys

Posted by abie on 6:05 AM in
This is my entry for March’s Photo-a-day challenge for Day 30 with a theme, Toys.

These are just some of the few toys from hubby’s collections. He collects all sorts of stuff from NBA, NHL, Wrestling action figures, yoyo, Japanese anime, FPJ DVDs and more.

This is now stored in our spare room which hubby claims as his office. Sine we moved, he just unpacked these toys from the box but haven’t really gotten the time to arrange it yet. His dream was to turn this spare room into a mini museum of his collections and I am sure he can easily fill the room as he has tons and tons of toys. He still has a lot in our house in Bulacan.

Oh well, at least hubby is into this hobby. I would rather see him play with toys rather than gamble or alcohol and most especially not girls. LOL.

17 again?

Posted by abie on 11:37 AM in
Just look at hubby’s latest picture?

17 again?
17 again? Hehe. I don’t know what got into him that he went home one day with a new haircut. And then he even shaved his mustache and beard.

Did you know that when I met hubby, he already have a mustache and I married him not seeing how he looks without a mustache. That is why it took a lot of getting used to when I first saw him without a mustache. He even did it while he is on a remote trip and he just sent his picture to me via MMS.

But I like his new haircut and clean-shaven look. He definitely looks a lot younger and less stress out. Even our friends and our kids’ doctor noticed how young he looked like after shaving and with his new haircut.

So dad, I wish you would always keep this haircut. The kids and I like it more than your long wavy hair. LOL.

In Need of Business Card Printers for Hubby's Business Venture

Posted by abie on 11:00 AM in , ,
In less than a month, we will finally be moving to our new home. I have not been feeling excited about it as I am anxious and scared of the financial burden ahead of us but now that it is already finalized and there is no turning back, I am starting to feel excited already. At least even if we have a huge financial responsibility now as we pay our monthly amortization, it is all worth it because at least this house is something that we can call our own.

At the ground floor of the house are two spaces that we can rent out but hubby is thinking of converting it to a studio so he can try his luck on business. As a supportive wife, I am already starting to look for business card printers to order the business cards for hubby's new business and I am so happy to discover Print Early.

Print Early provides online printing services like club flyers, envelopes, labels, brochures and almost all printing needs. They have a very fast turnaround of only 24 hours so you can get your print outs right away. They have an online calculator so you can get quotes instantly, even the shipping fee. Plus, they offer online proofs so you can readily see the layout for checking and approval.

I am so glad that I discovered them at the perfect time as they are offering 10% discount on their entire inventory so I can even order postcards printing for hubby's new business venture.

His Ever Reliable Magnum's Wide Width Boots

Posted by abie on 11:38 PM in
The US Embassy is having a campaign to promote America here in the Philippines in an event dubbed "America in 3D: A Road Show in Diplomacy, Development and Defense." Their first kick off activity was a 3-day event held at SM North EDSA last March and this week, they will be going to the provinces as they launch America in 3D in Baguio City.
Hubby will be one of the support staff for the event. He will handle the set up of all the technical equipment needed for the event so I am sure he will be super busy starting tomorrow. Thankfully he brought with him his Magnum's wide width boots.

All Magnum boots, like their duty boots, are so comfortable yet very durable that my husband can stand long hours wearing the boots as he perform his duties running around the venue and doing all the physical work to set up all the equipment, but still his feet won't hurt at all because of the comfortable, yet durable material that Magnum boots are made of. Hubby even brought with him his waterproof boots, as it is the rainy season already so he does not need to worry if he has to go out wearing the boots in the rain.

It will be a super busy weekend for hubby but I am glad that at least his Magnum boots will help carry some of his burden as he performs his duty.

The Biggest Looser

Posted by abie on 12:56 AM in ,
The Biggest Looser. I love this project that hubby’s company organized to encourage their employees to start living healthy and maintain an ideal body weight. According to hubby, those who will join will have to pay P500 registration fee and who ever is the biggest looser after a few weeks or so, will get everything from the pot money.

They had a weigh in several weeks ago and just look at how heavy hubby is (he said he is even heavier than Manny Pacquiao):

I wonder if he can take the best diet pills for men to help him loose weight so he can bring home the price money. LOL. But with or without the price, I really want Howell to win because his doctor advised him that he really needs to loose at least 20 pounds so joining this contest might be a good way for him to be inspired to reach his ideal weight.

So to hubby, good luck to you.

Merry Christmas Dad!!

Posted by abie on 10:00 AM in ,
I am not sure if I blog about this already but Howell is already solved for Christmas because he already got his Christmas gift from me:
IMG_1263IMG_1262

We went to Toy Kingdom in SM Mall of Asia after the Twitter Christmas Party as we promised Bela that we will get her something from Toy Kingdom. Bela and I are already finished with our shopping and we are ready to go home when hubby approached me and whispered “Mom, I think I found your gift for me.”

He showed it to me and I checked the price and I really wanted to protest but he said that it is a very good deal already. And then I suddenly had images of my bags and I realized that hubby did not say anything when I went crazy shopping for bags and so I gladly said yes to his request. LOL.

Hubby was all smiles when I was already paying for his gift. I even asked for it to be wrapped so I can take a picture when he opens it on Christmas. I am sure he is just so excited to add this to his collection.

My Energizer Bunny

Posted by abie on 2:21 PM in
Hubby was on holiday yesterday. I was so green with envy at first because I thought that he will have a good rest on that day but I was wrong.

Of course I have to ask him to drive me to work as I woke up late yesterday so instead of sleeping until 9 or 10 AM, he has to wake up early too to take me to work. Then he has to take Bela to school also around just before lunch time. And since I forgot my pump and my milk bottles at home because I was so hurrying up so I won’t be late, I have to asked hubby to drive back to Makati after taking Bela to school to deliver my pump. And since hubby is really such a perfect and sweet husband, he still offered to pick me up from work after fetching Bela to school.

Oh well, that is just Howell, my energizer bunny and a very patient one as you will not hear him complain even for one tiny second even though I know he is so tired already from driving around from one city to the next. That is just how much he loves me and the kids.

My Workaholic Hubby

Posted by abie on 1:52 AM in
For two consecutive days now, my husband always needs to work overtime for a project that they have in the office. He sometimes will arrive home around 12 am or 1 am already and then he still has to wake up early the next day to go back to work again.

He is really very workaholic as he always wants to make sure that everything is taken cared of in the office. I guess that is really a part of his job as a supervisor and I really can’t do anything but to understand and support him because that is part of what his company his paying him. But I have to make sure that even though he works really hard, his health is still taken cared of that is why I want to look for organic vitamins that hubby can take to strengthen his immune system so he won't get sick even if he has a very hectic and busy schedule.

Now hubby went home around 12 AM already and sad to say he has to wake up early again tomorrow as he is taking the Saturday function. And since it is a weekend and Bela has classes every Saturday, he will be our driver in the afternoon after he works overtime to take us to Bela’s swimming class. I don't know where Howell is getting his energy just to make us happy. I better treat hubby to a sumptuous dinner after Bela’s class for all the handwork that he is doing for us.

For Him

Posted by abie on 12:30 AM in ,
My husband is one of those typical male who never wants to dress up or wear jewelries and accessories to complement his outfit. But we can never deny that there are really times when he needs to dress up properly and a nice accessory should always go with a great outfit. That is why for our upcoming anniversary, I am thinking of giving him a very fine timepeace of great craftsmanship and durability that I am sure hubby can’t resist to wear and that is one of the rare timepieces of IWC Watches.

IWC Watches are available from Lussori who is an authorized purveyor of these rare and fine timepieces. They sell different brands of the finest timepieces like Bell and Ross, Hermes, Omega, Mont Blanc to name just a few. They have been in the business of selling the finest timepieces for more than ten years already.

Their shop is located at Main Street in downtown Los Altos, CA where you can talk to their in house gemologists, custom jewelers and certified watchmakers who only uses state of the art equipment to give nothing but the best service to their most discriminating clients.

Cash Advances, My Husband’s Savior

Posted by abie on 12:56 AM in ,
My husband has a new toy and it is his new Canon 50D Digital SLR. I did not know that he is actually planning to buy one and I only learned about it days before Cobi’s baptism. His initial plan was that he will sell his Canon 40D first and use the money from its sale as the initial cash out to buy the Canon 50D. But being a camera addict that he is and since he wanted to use his new toy on Cobi’s baptism, he decided to buy the camera the day before Cobi’s baptism even if it is still a few days short from payday and even if he hasn't sold his Canon 40D yet.

So how did he manage to buy the camera even if he is short on cash? Cash advances had been his savior. He knows that he can’t wait until payday to purchase the camera and so he thought of applying for cash advance so he can buy the camera before Cobi’s baptism.

Cash advance is a short term loan and can be your answer if you need cash below $1000 instantly. The advantage of cash advance is that there is no credit check involved when applying. The application is also very convenient as you just have to fill up an online form to submit an application and you can instantly receive an online approval. Once approved, the money can be deposited to your bank account usually within the next business day. That is how convenient applying for a cash advance is.

I know that my husband will be able to pay for the cash advance when his pay check arrives so I gave him my approval to obtain the cash advance. I know that it made my husband truly happy and it is a good thing too as he has a much better camera to use for an important event in my son’s life, which is his Baptism.

Collection = Investment

Posted by abie on 11:12 PM in ,
Hubby is a collector of all sort of things and one of his precious collection is his coin collections which he collected from the different places and countries that he visited. But his love for coin collection has leveled up as he is now considering to buy gold coins.

He discovered the site of United States Gold Bureau and has done some reading and has learned a lot about gold investment. Since we can’t afford investing in gold bar for now, he thought of starting our gold investment with these gold coins. Aside from the fact that it is a very nice addition to his coin collection, it is also a good investment choice as its value will surely appreciate in time. And if ever we need cash, there is no problem converting it to cash since gold coins are universally accepted.

Hubby is really interested in gold investment so he will surely contact one of the experienced staff of United States Gold Bureau to help us get the best value for gold coins available in the market.

Another Side of Howell

Posted by abie on 7:16 PM in ,
Hubby is a very artistic person. He loves to do paintings, drawings, and different other kinds of art work. In fact, every time there is a special occasion, his gift for me would always be one of his art works. Most of the art works in our living are all made by him.

One of his dream projects is to have his own art clay kiln at home so he can learn pottery. This is one type of art that he haven’t tried but he is really interested to try it as he feels that he can create wonderful pottery art with his artistic talent. He also feels that making pottery is a very relaxing form of art which is what he really needs since he has a stressful job.

He was checking the site of AMACO/Brent and he found a lot of pottery supplies like ceramic colors and pottery wheels that he would like to purchase so he can start with his pottery project. One of his first targets is the brent pottery wheels which are considered as the Harley Davidson when it comes to pottery wheels. He wanted to invest in this tool because this is the key to make wonderful pottery projects.

Hubby is really excited already. This is one of his long time dream projects and I am glad that finally he found a store where he can purchase the supplies that he will need to start with his pottery project.

Hubby's Dream Business

Posted by abie on 7:05 PM in ,
One of hubby’s dreams is to build a resort in our lot in Bulacan. It has been a long time dream of my aunt who passed away already and hubby wants to fulfill my aunt’s dream. I was hesitant at first with hubby’s plan as I know that we will need a lot of money to start with this business and I know that it is difficult to maintain the swimming pools in the resort.

But hubby said that he has done his research already and he has been reading about above ground pool filters and pool cartridge filters from the site of Spa-Daddy. Spa-Daddy recommended three fundamental products to maintain sparkling clean water in the pool, hot tub or spa.

The first one is a filter like hot tub filters to filter all the dirt and bacteria from the water. The second one is a sanitizer to kill the bacteria and the third one is a clarifier. All of these products are available from Spa-daddy. From pool filter replacement cartridge to filter flossers, sanitizers, clarifiers and all other spa and pool care needs, you will surely find at Spa-Daddy.

Hubby really did his research because he got me really convince about the business that he is planning. I hope that we will be able to save up so hubby’s dream of constructing a resort will soon come true.

On Loosing Weight

Posted by abie on 10:51 PM in ,
This is hubby a few years ago:

And this is hubby now, a few pounds heavier. LOL.

bela 122
I guess what they say is true that the more you get older, the more weight you will gain. But hubby really needs to loose weight as recommended by his doctor. That is why I am looking for elliptical machines so he can do exercise even at home to help him loose weight. He is actually enrolled at Slimmers but because of his busy schedule, he hasn’t even set his foot at Slimmers World even for just one session. LOL.

I am also considering letting him try South Beach diet which is highly recommended by my friend Jody because his husband is under this program and she said that it is really effective.

I don’t mean to torture hubby (LOL) and force him to loose weight but I just really wanted him to stay healthy.

Mens Shorts - Different Makes and Models

Posted by abie on 12:47 PM in ,
What Are The Different Types of Mens Shorts?

There are so many different kinds of mens shorts to choose from and a lot of different materials used in making them. They can be made from such materials as cotton, canvas, silk, nylon, denim or twill. It really depends on what the shorts are for, or what you will be doing in the shorts to help you determine what type you should be wearing for the occasion.

If you are going to be running or exercising, there are certain shorts made out of light materials (like nylon) that are great for these active activities. If you are heading to the beach, a set of board shorts would be a good choice over wearing cargo shorts or jean shorts (also known as denim shorts), which are made from heavier materials and would be better for walking around town and just hanging out. There are also hiking shorts available if you are wanting to take a day trip to that elusive waterfall you've been wanting to see that are suited more for this type of activity.

Important Things To Consider When Buying Mens Shorts

When you are deciding what kind of mens shorts to purchase, you need to look at a lot of different factors and ask yourself some questions. Not only do you need to consider the style and fit of the shorts, but you should also take a look at the washing directions. Do you really want to pay for them to be dry-cleaned all the time? It will be much better and easier if you can wash them with your other clothes yourself.

Also, you want to look at the functionality of the shorts. Are there pockets? How durable is the fabric and how well are the shorts made? Make sure to, physically, check seams, pockets, zippers, buttons, and belt loops. It can save you a lot of trouble!

On Hubby's Health

Posted by abie on 8:15 PM in , ,
Howell had his check up last Friday when we brought Bela to her pediatrician since his doctor holds the same clinic as Bela’s doctor. And he really has to go back for a check up since he has to know the result of his blood exam. The doctor also ordered for an ultrasound to check his liver and thankfully, nothing is wrong and he just have to continue drinking his supplements everyday.

That is why I always make sure that he has his supply of medicines and supplements so he will not fail to take his medicine everyday. Thankfully, there is JazzMedical where we can order our medical supplies. Since their store is online, I can order for Howell’s medicines and supplements even without leaving the comforts of our house. An added bonus is that their prices are really low compared to other stores and they even have 24/7 customer service so I can contact them anytime of day.

I am really thankful that the doctor assured us that there is nothing to worry with hubby’s health. But the doctor asked Howell to have a diet so that would be a challenge for me – to monitor Howell’s food intake so he can loose a little weight.

On Cars

Posted by abie on 12:32 AM in ,
When we went on a three-week vacation to Europe, we were lucky to have seen a car exhibit while walking along Champs Elysee:

I can see how much hubby was drooling over this car (the same way he drools over the bmw 3 series). I know because I often see him check out the site of TheCarConnection and he always reads reviews of cars such as this and the chrysler 300.

The Car Connection reviews different cars that are out in the market such as the BMW, Chrysler and even the audi a3. And their reviews are really comprehensive as they give details on the styling, performance, quality, safety, and features and they even provide the specs per car as well as shows pictures of the car in different angles so their readers really get a lot of good information from them especially to those who are planning to buy a car.

I know that one of hubby’s wish is to have one of this cars but it is at the last of his list of priorities right now as he is aiming to purchase a much bigger house for us since our family is already growing. So I guess for the next five years or more, he will just be satisfied reading reviews and looking at the pictures of the cars from The Car Connection’s website.

Good Job Dad!!

Posted by abie on 3:29 PM in
I need to look for hemorrhoid creams because I promise my friend that I will help her find one but I am just too excited to postpone blogging about my husband so i will continue my search after I post this.

I read a message or comment made by one of his staff about him and I quote:

“I would just like to say that Howell is a very good supervisor. He knows what we need and he earns our respect.”

I am all smiles from ear to ear upon reading this. I know that Howell is really doing a good job managing his staff because I know how dedicated he is with his job but reading this comment made by his staff is a true testament of how good a boss he is. Respect is something that is difficult to earn and I am so happy knowing that his staff is following his lead not because they are afraid of him because he is the boss, but because they are doing it because they have their full trust and respect for Howell. I think that is the most important – to gain your people’s trust and respect which really helped in him being a good leader.

I am glad that things are really doing well with Howell’ career. When the opening for the Supervisor position was announced, I know in my heart that he will surely get the promotion. He has been working really hard and he really has the right attitude and the right disposition in life to be a leader.

Congrats again dad for doing a great job. Bela and I are so proud of you!!

Howell's My Toy Store: Soft Opening

Posted by abie on 11:14 PM in ,
I was reading for colonix review on the net and it made me realized that health is really the most important thing for our family. That is why we should be prepared financially so we always have the budget for all our health needs.

That is why hubby is really working really hard and is working double time to earn enough money to support for our family. One of the things that he is busy right now is his online toy store. He found a business partner for his long time dream of having his own toy store. For now he will start with an online store and you can check out some of his items on sale here.

It is still at its soft opening and he is still not finish uploading all the pictures of the toys that he has on sale but do check out the site once in a while for updates on new toys that he is selling. He also accepts pre-orders for items like Leapfrog toys (Leapster, Clickstart, Lmax), Vtech toys and other children’s educational toys.

For any inquiries, you can leave a message at his multiply site: My Toy Store or you can send him an SMS at 0920-9232913.
