Meeting de Avance

Posted by abie on 10:10 AM in
I am glad the meeting de avance went well last night as per my husband. I did not watch last night as I find it too stressful as I know my mom’s detractors who are now running as chairman might say invented things again against my mom (as what they always do every election for the past three-terms of my mom). I am really not good in dealing with rumors and I get really affected that I will really feel bad about it.

So I told my sister that I will just stay at home and we will just support her in spirit. And besides, Bela and Cobi were still awake until 11 PM last night so I have to take care of them. I just asked my husband to check on my dad and wait for the meeting de avance to finish as my dad is a bit emotional too like me especially if he hears bad things about us which has no truth and basis.

But I am glad it went well. I was even hearing a lot of compliments for my sister’s speech as it was really good and with substance.

I am excited and can’t wait to see the results of the election tomorrow.

VJ Ramos for Kagawad

It is the election period again. My mom already served her three term as a barangay chairman and so my brother and I thought that we can all say good bye to politics as neither me or my brother wants to run for public office to replace my mom.

But we were surprise when my sister showed interest in running as she wants to continue my mom’s legacy. Of course we will support our sister if this is really what she likes and we know that my mom will be happy with this too as she really wants somebody from us to continue what she has started for our barangay.

So all of us got busy, from my mom, my dad, my aunts and uncles, even Bela and Cobi as we did everything we could to show our support for the candidacy of my sister. We joined her last Saturday when she did a house to house and Howell got busy doing her tarpaulins and sample ballots.

Monday will be Election Day and we are all praying that my sister will make it as one of the Kagawads. To those who are living in Bgy 180, please don’t forget to write my sister’s name in your ballot and we promise you that she will give the same kind of service that my mom has rendered during her three-term as a Barangay Chairman.

Hooray for my mom

My mom won the election, with 82 votes lead against her opponent. Thanks for all your prayers, support and well wishes. We’re really thankful that our prayers have been answered and big thanks for my mom’s constituents for still believing in her and for re-electing her again for her third term.

We we’re overwhelmed by the support that they have given my mom. The morning of the election, the people are already congratulating us and telling us that the election is already over. Of course, we are happy with the feedback that they’re giving us but the fight is still not over until after the counting of the votes.

My mom was sick from Friday until Sunday and she has high blood pressure (180/120) since Sunday evening. Maybe, she’s tensed and stressed out with the election.

The counting of votes started around 3:30 PM. I was just at home and I left my brother at the polling precincts as I don’t think I can handle the stress there. I just told him to text me for updates every now and then. My brother texted me around 4 PM and gave me the news that we have an overall 60 votes lead but he is getting a little nervous because my mom’s opponent was winning in two precincts. Around 5 PM he texted me again and we now have an over all lead of 70 votes. By 5:30, my brother called me and confirmed that we already won.

I was jumping with joy for my mom. I really wanted her to win and I know she is more than qualified than her other two opponents and I believed that she will do a much better job than them. And I know this is something that she really loves doing. She’s a people person so she really enjoys serving the people.

From the bottom of our hearts, thanks again for all your prayers and support.

And Mrs. C _ _ _ D _ _ _ _ _ _ strikes again…

Remember my post last national election about a certain close family friend (I will name her CD this time – this is her true initials) who got mad at my mom because my mom was supporting another candidate for Congressman? And she said some really nasty things about my mom, like maybe my mom received a huge amount from our mayor that’s why my mom was supporting a different candidate for Congressman than the one that she is supporting. Well she got into my nerves again this election.

During the campaign period, every time we see her, she is already congratulating us and telling us that my mom will surely win the election. And when my grand father passed away a few months ago, she even went to the wake of my grandfather and she’s acting and pretending as if nothing happened between her and my mom. (So plastic.)
And then we found out that she is campaigning for my mom’s opponent. (That’s how badly she wants my mom to loose.) Her mistake is that she doesn’t know who the supporters of her candidate are, so she didn’t know that she is promoting her candidate to my mom’s supporters. They are bothered by what CD & her husband is doing because they know that my mom didn’t do anything to them that will make them turn their back against my mom. So my mom’s supporters have been reporting to my mom what they have been doing.

I don’t care if she is supporting another candidate. What really irritates me is that she is so plastic and back stabber. If she doesn’t like us, then she doesn’t have to pretend that she likes us. She’s so two faced that she is showing a good side of her when she’s talking to us but all along, she has been hiding grudges from my mom. I’m not that kind of person. If I don’t like you, then I don’t like you. So it is really irritating to deal with back stabbers and pretentious person like her.

But like what my relatives are saying, they knew all along that she has a trashy attitude. And so Mrs. C _ _ _ D _ _ _ _ _ _ , this one is for you - you STINK, big time!!!

Well, true to its nature, you’ll never who you’re TRUE friends are in politics. But at the end of the day, my mom wins and that’s all that matters. LOL

Sad...Glad....

We receive yet another bad news today – my mom didn’t get the Iglesia vote this time. She has been getting the Iglesia votes ever since she ran for office (twice when she ran as a Barangay Kagawad and twice when she ran as Chairman). I don’t know why she didn’t get the Iglesia vote this time. But we’re still hopeful and we’re continually praying that my mom can still win despite the lost of the Iglesia vote.

But I’m still thankful that St. Jude answered my prayers because the meeting de avance and the over all campaign was very peaceful – no black propaganda, no lies. Not like last election where my mom’s opponent created a lot of lies about my mom. (He’s that desperate to win the election). I remember there was even an issue about me also. I worked for one of the foreign missions here and they sent me to Canada for training – all expenses paid with food and accommodation allowance. Would you imagine my mom’s opponent was spreading the news that I used the SK funds (I was the SK Chairman back then) that’s why I was able to go to Canada. My dad was so affected by the issues and he was really fuming mad with my mom’ opponent. That’s why I really prayed hard to St. Jude that this election would not be the same as last election where all of us we’re really tense and stress.

One more day to go and we’ll know if my mom can win again for her third term. Please continue praying for her.

Dead Tired

Just got back from another house to house campaign of my mom’s team. Syempre kasama ulit ang buong family including Bela. So I was carrying Bela the whole time. She doesn’t want to go with her yaya kse kaya super pagod na din ako.

My mom is also sick. Nahawa ata sa akin or maybe super stress sa election.

And just this morning we also attended the Dedication of the Noma Twins – Eliana & Eliora. I’m one of the ninang of Eliana (Yani). The mom of the twins was my barkada from high school and is also one of the ninang of Bela. Howell was the official photographer so we arrived there early and we’re also one of the last one to go. But we’re happy because super satisfied naman sila sa service ni hubby. Binook na nga si Howell for the twins 1st birthday on June…hehehe…I’ll post some pictures pag na download na ni Howell.

So now I’m blogging. Just relaxing before another long night as tonight is also the meeting de avance. Hay, feeling ko magkakasakit na naman ako. Super busy weekend.

It’s election time once again. As most of you know, my mom is running for her third term as barangay chairman. So syempre, full support kami sa kanya.

Here’s the lay out of my mom’s campaign poster and tarpaulin courtesy of yours truly.

Some pictures taken during the campaign last Sunday. Of course, the little princess is also present to support her lola.

OCTOBER HIGHLIGTHS

Posted by abie on 12:19 AM in , ,
I think this is the busiest month for us (except of course for December). We’ll be having a high profile visitor this coming November so things are quite busy at the office as the whole department is busy preparing for it.

Then aside from that, it’s election time again this coming October 29 and my mom is running for her third term as a barangay chairman. Of course we have to give her our full support.

Side kwento lang: Since she retired from teaching, this is what kept her busy and we know that she really loves what she’s doing. And mind you, she’s really good at it. Many of my co-barangay can attest at how our barangay has improved during her leadership.

So now we are busy helping her prepare the leaflets, the posters, the tarpaulin and other campaign materials. I’m done doing her 11x17 poster and I’m also finish doing the lay out of her 24x36 tarpaulin. We’ll just send it to the printing shop next week so it will be ready before the start of the campaign period (October 19-27).

Of course, we have to support her also during the campaign period. I’m planning to go on leave from October 24-29 to be with her during the campaign period. My mom doesn’t request us to do these things but this are just our simple ways of shopping how much we support her and how much we love her. Please pray for her and hope she wins again for her last term.

And since we are busy for election, we haven’t found the time to do the DIY stuff for Bela’s birthday. Oh, I just hope we’ll find the time next week to do it.

It’s also the 7th birthday of my cousin and my Tita Pen is too busy also (she has a lot of things in her mind right now so I decided to help her prepare). I helped her scout for a venue or a restaurant to celebrate her son’s birthday. And just yesterday, Howell & I went to Divisoria to buy the stuffs for the loot bags. And since it’s a payday weekend, Divisoria mall was jammed pack.

Howell will have three events to cover this October, 2 birthdays and 1 baptism. We’re so thankful because her sideline is starting pick up already. Hopefully we’ll get enough bookings for October so we’ll have money to spend for another vacation before the year ends.

Election Fever

Posted by abie on 11:26 AM in
I just want to share this with you guys because it has been bothering me.

We have a family friend (as in really close family friend) who is supporting one candidate for Congress. Let’s just name her JL. Last Sunday around 11 PM, I received a text message from JL asking me for the landline number of my mom because it’s an emergency. I was already half asleep but I still replied to her text message because she said it was an emergency.

The next morning, I was not able to ask my mom the reason why JL called her because I was already late for work. When I was already home, my aunt was in our house and she told me what happened.

JL was fuming mad at my mom because my mom was supporting another candidate for Congress. My mom is the chairman in our barangay and she is distributing sample ballots containing the list of candidates that she supports. Somebody showed JL the sample ballot that my mom was distributing and so she became really mad and decided to call my mom to confront her.

According to my mom, when JL called her, JL was questioning why is she supporting that candidate. JL even accused her that she might have received a big amount of money from our mayor that’s why she is supporting that congressman.

I was really mad when I found out about it. I immediately texted JL and eto yung text ko sa kanya:

Well at least, I know I’m a much better person than her sa mga pinakita nya and by the way she talks to my mom.
