Still about Lomo

Posted by abie on 10:27 PM in ,
I am really affected by the death of Francis Magalona. In fact I made a post about it on my other blog. I am so affected maybe because a couple of years ago, someone close to my heart died of cancer. So talking about cancer is really a very sensitive and emotional topic for me.

Hubby noticed that I am so deeply obsessed with reading about Francis M’s illness and he noticed that I am really affected to the point that I feel upset already after reading his blog. I wanted to research more about Cancer and get more information about Mesothelioma and leukemia, but I figured I should stop this obsession as I hate having this feeling of sadness. So instead, I searched for my interest, Lomo Cameras.

I initially want a Holga Multicolored Camera but after doing some more readings, I got confused as I learned that Holga Cameras have different types and each one uses either a 120 mm or 35 mm film and I still have to research which one of this films is cheaper. Also, after checking out this blog, I even got more confuse as I saw more Lomo camera types and each one of them has a unique feature.

I wanted to buy one this week so I can try it out when we go to the beach this weekend but I still have to do more readings and read reviews and tips from lomo users. And I am not sure if I still have time to do all of that this week…We’ll see.

My Holga: Soon

Posted by abie on 9:21 PM in ,
My hubby has been doing photography for years now. He has a Canon 350D SLR camera and when he upgraded to the new Canon 40D, he offered to give me his old SLR but I told him that I will not really use it as I would rather pose for the camera than be the photographer (or it is my nice way of saying, “Sorry daddy, but I have no interest in photography.”). LOL.

But my friend who is into Lomo photography showed me the pictures that she took using her Lomo Camera and I fell in love with it. All of a sudden, I developed an interest in photography and for weeks now, I have been checking the internet on where I can find good deals for Lomo cameras.

For weeks now, I have been deeply obsessed with this camera, the new apple of my eye:

.: Photo snagged from Google :.

I remember I have the same feeling of obsession when I wanted to buy an LV Speedy so I know that I will not stop until I have in my hands my Holga Multicolored Lomo Camera.

Yesterday, I was at Urban Bazaar at Rockwell and I saw a booth that sells Lomo Cameras. I inquired right away and I noticed that their price is cheaper compared to the other sites that I found but since they doesn’t accept credit card payments and I don’t have a cash on hand, I went home still without my lomo camera that night.

I wanted to contact the seller the next day but I realized that I forgot to get their contact number. I tried looking for their sites on the Internet and I found hundreds of sites that sells Lomo Camera but unfortunately, none of them was the supplier that I met at the bazaar.

So I realized that getting a Branding Agency is really a must for businesses if they want to have a strong presence in the cyberspace. Having your own website does not guarantee a good existence in the world wide web. Companies must have a search engine optimization strategy so they will always appear at the top of the results of search engines such as Google.

Oh well, maybe I am still not meant to buy a Lomo camera. I will ask around and maybe, my friend knows a supplier where I can get a good buy for Lomo cameras (and hopefully I can get one soon as I want to bring it to our out of town vacation this weekend.)

I like!!

And so I saw this shirt on Kelly’s blog…

She got it from Karl Edwards Bazaar. My friend also has a “Team Edward” hoodies which she also got from Karl Edwards Bazaar but unfortunately up to know I haven’t find the time to go and check out the bazaars. I wonder where I can buy those cute Edward Cullen shirts aside from the bazaar. Or to my sister, maybe you can buy this shirt for me for your Christmas gift. LOL.

And look at these bangles (I am sure they will really go well with this shirt):

These are hand painted bangles from Baubles, Bangles and Beads. I already ordered a bangle from them which I gave as present to Thea during the MBAPs Christmas party and I can say that their products are really unique, fashionable and pretty. I will definitely order this Twilight bangles from them after the holiday soon as I don’t think I can visit the bank to make a deposit before the 24th (which is the last banking day for this year).

My Love for Silver

Posted by abie on 10:34 PM in ,
I went to my mom’s house this evening as Bela wants to play with her grand father. My old room where I was staying when I was still single is now being occupied by my parents. To pass time, I checked out my old cabinets and I was glad to know that my parents didn’t touch it and they kept it intact. I was able to check on some of my old stuffs and I was all smiles when I saw my Sterling Silver Jewellery collection.

When I was still in college, I remember, it is the in thing for teenagers like me. I would always love to shop for silver jewelleries and I have all sorts of silver accessories like Silver Bangles, rings, necklaces, bangles and the like. The price of silver is really cheap compared to gold so it is really the perfect accessories for students like me back then.

My friend who now resides in UK shares the same passion for silver jewelries as mine. So when she saw me online yesterday, she shared with me the site where she buys all her accessories. And it really puts a smile on my face when she told me that I can select one item from their collection as her gift for me for Christmas.

I got really excited but confused at the same time as the site offers a wide range of selection for silver jewelleries. All their collection is really unique and of high quality since it is 92.5% silver. I really had a hard time deciding what to choose since all their products are really nice. But my favorite among all their collection is these two bracelets from the Sterling Silver Bracelets collection:

Don’t they look pretty? I told my friend to just decide for me since I both love the two designs and I will surely love it whichever she chooses among the two.

Twilight: Movie, Soundtrack and Book

Posted by abie on 12:37 PM in ,
I am so excited. November 26 is the first day of showing for the movie Twilight. I am sure my cousin, my sister and I will watch the film on its first day of showing (just like what we did with the movie Sex and the City).

Another reason why I am so excited is that the Twilight Soundtrack that I ordered from Amazon might arrive this week. I can’t wait to hear the voice of Robert Pattinson as he sang one song in the sound track and they say that it is the first for Rob.

And while I was checking Amazon, I saw the box set of hard cover books of the Twilight Saga. I know I already have the complete collection in paperback and I have the hard cover version of Book 1 already, but wouldn’t it be nice to have the box set? LOL.

Maybe I should tell hubby that he can give this to me as his Christmas present. LOL. I know he already gave me his advance Christmas present (my Ipod), but if he is generous, then I will not complain. But if he does, I have to get him something special. But that is not a problem as my hubby can be easily pleased. I don’t have to buy him expensive watches or golf equipment because a simple action figure from McFarlene will surely make his day.

Christmas 2008 Gift List

Posted by abie on 12:55 AM in ,
I can’t believe that it is already the middle of October and before I know it, it would be just a few days away before Christmas and just like last year, hubby and I would be cramming again to buy presents for all our relatives, friends and god children.

Our weekends are still booked and I don’t know when we can start with our Christmas shopping but I would like to start my list with Bela’s classmates and teachers at Toddlers Unlimited and her cousins:

1. Bela’s teachers at Toddlers Unlimited – I’m thinking of giving them Spa gift certificate or cakes from Cheesecake, etc
2. Bela’s classmates – Bela received a nice Puppy in a pocket bracelet from Sophia during our advance Christmas party last Saturday and I’m thinking of buying the same thing for her classmates.
3. Bela’s cousin Gelo – Howell wanted to give her wooden toys which we saw at Toys R’ Us
4. Ara and Shane – Kikay kits
5. Ken – Howell wanted to give her one of those remote control helicopters
6. Aliah – She loves reading Nancy Drew book so we might give her a few books to add to her collection
7. Jego – Any Toy Story items

Now I only have to wish that I would finally have the time one of these weekends to start shopping before the peak season for Christmas starts.

My Reward?

Posted by abie on 3:36 PM in ,
I so envy the girlfriend of my brother. She sent me an instant message yesterday and she is asking me if I can buy her an LV bag when we go to Hong Kong this coming November. She will just give me the money before we leave together with the model number of the bag that she wants. And what made me even more envious is that she is considering buying two LV bags. Darn, she is rich. LOL. But the best part of this is I can walk inside an LV store and bring home an LV bag with me. At least I get to hold an authentic LV bag (pathetic. LOL)

She told me that since she is really working really hard, she decided to give herself a gift this Christmas, thus she is purchasing two LV bags. This really made me think since I am working hard too, I think I deserve a Christmas present for myself too. My wish list:

1. An LV bag
2. A jewelry
3. Or an out of town vacation

I just wish I will find the budget to fulfill my list. :-)

Havaianas Fever

Posted by abie on 8:08 PM in ,

I’m just curious. Why do people go crazy with Havaianas? Isn’t it just an ordinary slipper? What makes it different from other slippers which are definitely cheaper than Havaianas? Why do people are so eager to buy at least one pair? Is it because it’s the latest fashion? Or they just love the feeling of having one?

I have to be honest. My daughter owns 3 pairs of havs and I was the one who bought it. But I am not so addicted to it that't why 3 pairs are enough for her. But unlike my sister, she is one of the Havaianas collectors. She now has 7 pairs. 4 Top, 2 Joy and her latest was the Flash Ethnic which is a limited edition. She’s still planning to buy some more and I’m just wondering, why does she have to buy different designs when literally, the styles are quite the same. I mean, it’s just flip flops. Why does she have to spend a lot of money for just a simple flip flop? Yes, it is a big trend nowadays but I don’t find it too fashionable, like what others may think.

Maybe, I’m just not so used with flip flops that’s why I can’t understand people who are so addicted to Havaianas. I would rather spend my money to buy clothes. I think, that will be more fashionable and very practical.

Lifelock Promotion Code: Should I avail it?

Posted by abie on 10:48 PM in , ,
I have done some online shopping lately and I have ordered a school bag for my cousin. Their first day of class will be next week already and her bag hasn’t arrived yet so she has been bugging me and has been asking me for days now on when her bag will arrive. My brother over heard our conversation and he can’t help but say his piece. He warned us about the danger of online shopping and giving our credit card details online. He said that he has a friend whose hobby is to hack other people’s credit card details and use it to order anything online. He said that his friend has been doing this for years now and he has ordered a lot of things online by using other people’s credit card.

I was stunned since I am really a fan of online shopping and I have entered my credit card details a number of times already every time I buy something online. This really made me realize the value of life lock.

You see I have been reading their site, especially now that they are offering lifelock promotion code, and I realized that identity theft is really common nowadays. Of course we live in a high tech world so anything is really possible. Technology really has its advantages and disadvantages.

After reading the lifelock review, I am really convinced that we really have to get tools to combat and protect ourselves from crimes such as identity theft. We can never be too careful in this high tech world that we live in now where anything is really possible.

Lifelock.com and my Friend Jacq

Posted by abie on 10:13 PM in ,
I love to shop online. Ever since it was introduced to me by my friend Peachy, I have been addicted to shopping online ever since. Who wouldn’t? It is so convenient since I can do my shopping anytime that I like at the convenience of my own home. Plus some online stores offer great discounts and I can even use coupon codes for my purchases for added discounts.

But I have a friend in the United States who tries to avoid shopping online as much as possible. In fact she and her husband even do their banking transactions personally in the bank and they don’t want to do anything online. Since identity theft is a rampant case in the US, they are too careful for anything that they do online since they are worried that they too might become victims of identity theft.

Imagine they are already living in a first world country but they try to avoid the convenience of online transactions. So I gave them the site of lifelock.com. I told them that I have been reading Life Lock’s website and I have learned that they have tools that can help consumers be protected and prevent identity theft.

They are so open to the idea of enrolling in the program. They have been reading LifeLock reviews and they are happy and convince with the testimonials given by the consumers who are enrolled in the Life Lock system. They say that this might be the solution to make them free of their worries for identity theft and so they can get to enjoy the convenience that I am getting for doing everything online.

I love party planning

Posted by abie on 9:04 AM in ,
I received an SMS message from my high school friend yesterday and she is asking for help and some inputs and suggestions for the birthday party celebration of her twins. Yani and Yori will be turning one this coming June 12 and they will be having a birthday party on June 14 so her mom is now busy preparing for it.

Birthday party preparations really get my adrenalin going. I love to prepare parties that’s why for the first two years of my daughter, we had a party for her. If only I can afford to splurge on a birthday party for my daughter every year, maybe I would. But for this year we decided just to have a small party for her and just have an out of the country vacation.

But I still miss party preparations. I miss the fun of conceptualizing invites, going to divisoria to buy toys for the game prizes and items for the loot bags, and I miss selecting from a wide list of party entertainments. So when I received the sms from my friend and she is asking me to help her, I got excited. At least if not for my daughter, I can get to plan another birthday party again and this time it will be for my god children.

Me Time

Posted by abie on 11:07 PM in , ,
I’m glad that my dad is enjoying blogging as much as I do. In fact he was really challenged that he was doing some readings on how he can improve his posts and even asked me to teach him on how to use some of the features of blogspot.

So Howell agreed to baby sit Bela while I give my dad a tutorial on blogspot like how he can upload images, change font attributes, change font color and the like. So he tried to make one posting and while he is busy typing in MS Word (which I’m really glad he learned to accept as before, he prefers to write his entries instead of typing it in MS Word), I was able to watch CSI. And they mentioned Manila in this week’s episode. They found a Filipino delicacy lying on the floor and Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan) told Nick Stokes (George Eads) that his grandmother has a friend from Manila who makes those delicacies.

CSI has always been one of my favorite TV series but I don’t get to watch it that often now specially when we decided to remove the TV in our bedroom and move it to the other room. And since Bela sleeps early now, we have to go up to our room early which gives me no time to watch CSI. And so I was really happy I was able to have my “me time” tonight and finally able to watch CSI Vegas again.

Who are you?

Posted by abie on 9:16 PM in
Have you seen the season premiere of CSI Vegas last night? I have been waiting for it for the longest time already since the last episode of Season 7 left all the viewers hanging, on what’s going to happen with Sarah after the miniature serial killer trapped her under the car. And I love to see what’s going to happen with Grissom and Sarah’s relationship.

Yesterday’s episode was not really heart pounding compared to the episode where they have to rescue Nick from his kidnapper. But I really missed the CSI Vegas team (they’re my favorite compared to the other CSI New York and CSI Miami) so I’m really glad they they’re back.

I’m looking forward to more exciting episodes of CSI Vegas and I’m really curious and excited to find out if the relationship of Grissom and Sarah will last as I really like them together.

So Wednesday night, every 10:00 PM at AXN, will be night.

Still Blogging

Posted by abie on 1:22 AM in ,
I waited for Howell at Chowking Buendia since he came from their Pasay office, so I don’t have to commute going home. And guess what I was doing while waiting for him. I was composing filler posts for my blog. LOL. (I was able to make 4 fillers.) Thanks to my reliable (but outdated), Palm m515. I just beamed the file to my laptop, & voila, I have fillers for my 3 Blogitive opps.

Crepes & Cream Addict

Posted by abie on 2:22 AM in ,
Peachy was right, Crepes and cream is really addicting. LOL. We we’re able to try it yesterday when we dropped by at Robinson’s Place Ermita. And it was so tasty and delicious that I really can’t get it out of my mind. And so on our way home, I have to ask my dear husband to drop me off at the Midtown wind so I can buy crepes again. I tried the Savory ground beef this time while Howell still preferred the Hazelnut Banana Chocolate which he tried yesterday.

I can’t wait for my next crepe at Crepes and Cream.

Break from Online Shopping

Posted by abie on 1:57 AM in ,
Peachy and I have been doing a lot of online shopping lately. All courtesy of our blogging money. You can read about my recent online grabs, which I posted on my other blog. This really makes me feel really, really rewarded as I was able to buy lot of stuffs for Bela and a little something for Howell.

Peachy even discovered another good site, which sells toys and other kids stuff - allaboardtoys.com. And the best things about it is it accepts payment through paypal. There are a lot of items on sale and I’m tempted again to shop. Too bad, I just made a withdrawal from my paypal account and it now has zero balance. Oh well, maybe it’s a sign that I should rest from online shopping for the mean time.

Last Friday – Travel Expo, Shopping, Etc

Posted by abie on 12:48 AM in ,
Last Friday, we went to the Travel Expo at SMX in MOA. The exhibit hall was big and it was really filled with a lot of Travel Agencies that offers good deal for domestic and international travel.

Unfortunately I was not feeling well already so I just grab and grab brochures and prices for Singapore packages but I didn’t find the time to review it, as I was already feeling dizzy. After going around the exhibit hall, we finally decided to have our merienda, as we’re all very hungry already.

We met up with my good friend Dennis and we ate at Tokyo Café. I just had crepes, as I just want something sweet because I’m still feeling a little nauseous. Howell met us there also.

After eating, we all decided to go home as we still have other appointments in the evening. On our way to the parking lot, I saw the 50% off sign at Mossimo. And I’m a big fan for Sale, so I went inside and was able to grab a pair of clothes again for Bela. Then we dropped by Astrovision also as Howell wants to grab some DVDs and VCDs.

After a tiring day, we just had dinner and I fell asleep instantly. The next day, I am down with a fever. That’s what you get from too much malling & shopping. LOL.

crepes & cream, shopping, etc

Posted by abie on 10:41 PM in ,
Howell was on holiday yesterday (President’s Day) so they (Bela and Howell) fetched me at the office. They arrived just a couple of minutes before the office closes so Bela was able to play inside my room and visit some of her ninangs and my other officemates. We left the office around 5 PM and we then head to Robinson’s Place Ermita. We first went to BPI, as I need to fill up some forms for my credit card transaction. It was already past six when I finished my transactions with BPI and we’re all very hungry.

And I remember how much Peachy and Gelo love the crepes at Crepes and Cream. So we trooped to the Midtown wing and ate our merienda at Crepes and Cream. I tried the Sweet crepes with Strawberry while Howell tried the Banana Hazelnut. And Peachy was right, it was really delicious. I wanted to try the savory beef but I’m already full. Maybe next time.

After eating merienda, we checked out the stores at the 3/F. And as usual, we ended up shopping for Bela again. I posted my shopping kwento here on my other blog.

We love the Midtown wing of Robinson’s Place. It’s really spacious and it’s not crowded. I was not really feeling well when they fetched me since kakagaling ko lang sa sakit, but after doing some shopping, bigla ako nagging ok. Lakwatsa lang pala gamot sa sakit ko. LOL.

Super Affected

Posted by abie on 11:12 PM in
I can’t even think how I can be able to blog about it. I can’t accept the result of the amazing race. I was kind of expecting that Marc and Rovilson will arrive second at least if they will not win. But I have already foreseen that it will all boils down to the mental challenge.

I think Marc and Rovilson made a wrong decision in making Rovilson do the road block. They could have predicted from the clue that it is something related to geography and Marc could have done a better job since it looks like he knows his flags.

But in fairness, Colin and Adrian deserve to win also since they did a good job too. It’s just that it’s really difficult for me to accept the fact that the Philippine team didn’t win when in fact they are one tough team to beat. Just thinking about the final result of TARA makes me feel sad talaga. Super affected ako, promise…LOL.

But I know Marc & Rovilson really did a good job. They really made the Filipinos proud since they race fair, they made us laugh and they really entertained us. So to Marc & Rovilson, congratulations and we’re all proud of you. Truly, you made the Filipinos proud!!!
