Endure and Survive

So last week for the list I went over what I thought were the best movie or television to game conversions. When I was making that last it really got me thinking. You know now there are quite a few games to movie conversions some of them good and some of them not. So if I could pick any game and make it into a movie what would I choose? This sounds a lot easier than I thought when I started to make a list. I had about 30 games which I would love to see made into a movie. I did though lower the amount to my trademark five. So here is the list I came up with. Also there may or may not be spoilers but the games are old enough it shouldn't matter

5. Heavy Rain

The story of Heavy Rain plays out so well and leaves you guessing. It makes you feel for Ethan every step of the way. You want him to find his son no matter the cost. Now if that doesn't scream Hollywood blockbuster don't know what does.

4. Uncharted 2

This game isn't on my short list of greatest games only because of the ganeplay. The story is beautifully done and action packed from start to finish. It has everything a movie could ever want to keep you on the edge of your seat. Unless of course you actually played the game. I have heard they are thinking of making an Uncharted movie so we may actually get to see it one day.

3. Warcraft: Arthas' Story

There are many stories in the Warcraft universe but I don't think any would convert to film as well as Arthas' story would. From beginning to end it is a story of joy and sadness. A story you cannot help but watch and be drawn to till the very end, and isn't that what a movie is supposed to be?

2. Final Fantasy VIII

There have been 14 different stories created with the name Final Fantasy. So how do I come to choosing this one. Well it isn't the best game and I also don't think it the best overall story, but what I do believe it is the best which would translate into a movie. There are love stories in games as there are movies and I believe you would be hard pressed to find many which have a better one then this game.

1. The Last of Us

The greatest game in my books has the story to back it up. The time everyone fears when you are not only afraid of infection but what others will do to survive. A story of a journey and a struggle to save the world. Truly a masterpiece and which could also make one of the greatest movies ever made.

There it is list all put together. Like I said this was a lot tougher than it seemed and I left off a few games I thought were sure things when I first started writing them down. So what do you all think do you have some you would like to see?

Vol'jin, So Modest

Safiree & Gauss
We're Always Epic

Happy Saturday, everyone :) Hope your weeks were amazing. Gauss and I are still playing World of Warcraft, and enjoying every second of it. Except the mass amount of dailies in Pandaria. I've just a couple more to get exalted with until I take a break from them. LFR's are such an amazing/terrible concept. Wish they would've put them in sooner. Terrible because it's like people just came from League of Legends and if you mess up once, they will call you everything they can think of, and insult your mother in some form lol. Awesome because we don't have the stress of relying on 23 others to be on in time for raid. :)

Past week, i've been reading my Arthas book I bought years ago. Upset that I didn't take the time to read it sooner. Just one of those things you never want to end. I love Arthas Menethil and his lore. I hate endings. So as long as I read this book nice and slow I can enjoy it for as long as my excitement will allow. It's amazing the detail that is overlooked in alot of the game itself. I now understand the depth on how beautiful the cinematic after killing The Lich King, is. Happy endings everywhere :D

Official trailer for Elder Scrolls online was really disappointing, and anti climactic. Especially with the music. It was insanely boring. I feel bad for all the fans waiting in anticipation to play it. Anyways, hope you guys have a great week. WE DEFEATED GARROSH!!. I hate trolls, but Vol'jin is pretty cool.- For the Horde!

The Culling of Arthas

So it is Monday and we are somewhat angry that the weekend is ended. So I was keeping this in mind when I was deciding what to showcase for this Machinima Monday when it came to mind a machinima which I watch a few weeks ago which made me laugh for hours. I thought this will make anyone's day better. So I present to you The Culling of Arthas by Nixxiom.

Well that was Arthas....

The Music of Music

So here we are once again middle of the week and what has became the day of lists. As I said last week I decided to embrace this concept as I always have a favourite or opinion of about just anything. Safiree will even tell you sometimes my opinions might be be more evident than at other times, but hey not such a bad thing in my opinion. So what is this week about? Well I play a lot of games and have played a lot of games. You have played a lot of games as well, but we all know there are those theme music which is recognizable. Sometimes you didn't even know it was from a game. Some compositions are preformed around the world by choirs, orchestras, and whatever else you could possibly think of. So here goes with my top 5 most recognizable music themes.

5.Super Mario Bros

I don't think there is many people in the world who don't recognize this theme. Sure it sounds like an 8-bit beat-box, but that is classic. The only reason this is not higher is because it doesn't have the distinct of being preform by non gamers or scene as anything but a theme to one of the most recognizable games of all time.

4. Among Thieves

Among Thieves has been preformed or used in a series of gaming conventions. It is used in countless credits and videos on youtube. It is one of those themes you had no idea it was from Uncharted 2 unless you actually played the game. That to me is what puts it on the list.

3. Arthas, My Son

Arthas may be the most well known badass ever to grace a video game. He is a recognizable icon and that in its own right might have put this theme on the list. What brings it up the list you ask? It has been preformed by many well known Orchestras and has was only one of 2 musical themes from video games to be considered for the Legendary Music Collection, which has always been dominated by movies.

2. Baba Yetu

Most people have no idea Baba Yetu is from a video game. It is from Civilizations IV. It has been used in the discovery channels yearly review for years. It has been sung by a countless amount of choirs around the globe, and at one time was sung across 6 different countries simultaneously. I can say myself I actually used to load the game and leave on the Intro screen so this music would play. Truly there is only one which could beat this.

1. One Winged Angel

Maybe on of the most recognizable themes across games, movies, television shows. Absolutely anything. One Winged Angel has been preformed by countless orchestras around the world. In fact there actually was a competition at one time which orchestra could preform it the best. There are countless videos on youtube of people doing there own renditions using their own instruments. This is the only other musical score besides Arthas, My Son to be placed in Legendary Music Collection to represent gaming. One Winged Angel is simply put is everything the list was supposed to be so how could it not be number 1.

There you have it. As always let me know what you all think. Do you think I missed one which should have made the list? If so comment, email me let me know and why.

Ensidia Banned

Now I had another topic ready to go today, but I think we should go with and talk about what is big news in the WoW world at the moment. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about you can check out here. That is Muqq's rant on what happened and his feelings. For the short version I will show here the email he got from Blizzard, well basically just the banning info.

Date of Violation: 03/02/2010

Character Name Involved: Muqq
Type of violation: Exploitation – Abuse of in-game mechanics or glitches with intent to exploit or cheat in World of Warcraft.
Details: Use of Saronite Bombs to bypass The Lich King fight mechanics Consequences for Account: Account suspended for 72 hours, all items and achievements gained removed.

Basically Ensidia's explanation for it was they were unsure what was causing the bug, but they knew there was one. They argued that if they would have stopped and reported what was going on then someone could have got the kill before them. For a guild focused on world first this is a big deal to them. They thought like this a)risk waiting and not being first or b)someone else using the bug and getting the kill first. So they say the argument without knowing what was causing it they couldn't try to not use the bug without trying to pinpoint what it was therefore wasting their attempts. Did that make sense? So they went on doing what they were doing and got their kill. Now they go on to say even with doing this the kill was still messy. Just imagine if it had been done the right way? If I was in there position not knowing what was causing it and still trying to get that kill I can honestly say I wouldn't have stop trying. I would like to think I would have reported it while still trying. Therefore covering myself from any of this happening. Think about it GMs find out the encounter gets shutdown for a hotfix and no one can do it. They messed up and should be punished its that simple. Ya it probably sucks for them as they may be a week behind on heroic modes but they made the mistake and they have to live with it. I really doubt Hard Mode Arthas will be killed the first week so they still have a chance to get the World First on that. Also at the time of writing this no one else has killed him on normal so who knows.

So really I would say live with what you did. No use complaining about it when you could have done something about it, and prevented it from happening. You are not mad at Blizzard for not finding or knowing it existed, you are mad you got caught using it. If it were about the bug you would have reported it when you realized something was up.

Reminder today is your last day to get your raid stories in. Kinda interesting that this topic came up while dealing with that.
