Xmas Again

yes, I have been making lots of Xmas cards this year.

Invited a friend over and there was a lot of painting of papers.  We cut, glued
and went crazy at the work table.

For over two weeks I have been adding
ribbons, fibers and glitter.....seems like it took forever to finish all of them.
Seems I am very into pink and orange this year.

 Also copper and blue...............

and then started quite a few in silver and grey.......

Now I have to address all of these.  I wonder if I will get it all finished in time for
old Saint Nick.

I have not blogged for such a long time.  Life gets in the way sometimes....months went by
and it eventually turned into a year and then more months and here it is ......Christmas time,,,
again.
I hope you are well and thriving.
Enjoy the holiday season.

Out My Patio Door 9

As I sit here and work on my projects I get a wonderful show from nature.
What a nice view out my patio door....

 compared to this....

What a messy time of  year around here.
It does me good to look up and see the beauty of an amazing sunset.

We have not had any snow yet.  It has been so mild and I know when the snow
starts falling it will probably be a lot deeper than on this watercolor of mine.

I hope you are all enjoying your early November weather.

Watercolor Fun

Long time no see.
I have been having lots of fun painting lots of watercolors since last checking in here.
I thought it about time I do a post considering I forgot my password and had to
look it up.

This piece was inspired by a foto from a very talented watercolorist, Anita Ulrich.
Considering the fact that a Eucalyptus tree has hundreds of leaves... I used that
foto as my inspiration to paint random negative leaves a layer at a time...

All I need to do is take the tape off, sign it and get it in a frame.

What have you been up to lately?  Hope all is well.

Calla Lilies

 I love Calla Lilies.
They are one of my favorite flowers.

 A quick gift.
I printed out copies of one of my watercolors that I did sometime ago.
I mounted them on cardstock and added assorted lace, ribbons and paper.  Presto, a little gift.

I am working on more cherry watercolors.
One is in the beginning phase and the other in about phase three with about four.... or so more to go.

Have a great weekend!

Framed

A little gift for my godchild.

I painted the frame to look like a Birch tree.

A closer view of the texture on the frame.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Go Ahead and Smile

You know you are somebody´s reason to smile don´t you.....

It is always a good thing to bring a smile to somebody´s face.

It makes life that much more enjoyable.

These are some of the birthday cards I made for October.  I know a lot of  people who had
their birthday´s in October.....
Are you an October baby?
I am a January girl myself.....what month were you born in?

Blueberry Delight

I have been having so much fun in my classes....painting and photography.  Lots of action around
here.  I know I have been quiet on the blogging front but I have been making lots of art.
I am presently working on two blueberry watercolors.  They are both in the first washes.

 Here is the second one.
Yes, I know they look VERY pink but that will all even itself out
as I apply more washes.
I am painting these two in pure watercolor.  You will understand
why as you  keep on reading this post.

This is a watercolor and gouache with ink that I did this past summer.  I kept applying thin layers of
white gouache around the edges until I liked the blurrrrrrr....mainly because I did not like the fact that
I painted it to death with the gouache.  Gouache does that to me once in awhile so I just faded it out
and left a focal point and of course, added a digital frame.

Another one.....watercolors and wax pastel.  Again using  white gouache in the periphery

This one is gouache and wax pastel and yes, you guessed it......white gouache in the periphery here too.
I had fun experimenting with mixing my mediums.

Hope you are doing well and having a good start to your week.

My Peony Garden

June was a month full of Peonies along my fence.
A glimpse of one out of my sketchbook.

This year they lasted well into July.
They started out as a vibrant pink.

Everyday was a party of pinkness.

As the weeks went on the color started to mellow out.

Then we had a terrible storm and over half of them landed on the ground.

They were all hit hard and drooping.

A lot that were still on the stalk looked like this.

The few with petals began to take on an abstract form.

By the beginning of July,,,the last petals.

 As of yesterday......

Reminds me of a jester´s hat.....

 Looks like a moose head....

The new and the old.
What a difference a month and a half makes.

Paper Fun 10

Eat Fresh

Catch of the Day

I painted some watercolor shapes in various colors.

Then I cut them up and added the cat with his lunch for today....fresh fish.

Of course I had to use up some of my washi tape and twine.

Last but not least....the litter,,,,the whole Kat and Kaboooodle.

I am sharing this with the Art Journey Design Team and Paint Party Friday.
