Paper Fun 10

Eat Fresh

Catch of the Day

I painted some watercolor shapes in various colors.

Then I cut them up and added the cat with his lunch for today....fresh fish.

Of course I had to use up some of my washi tape and twine.

Last but not least....the litter,,,,the whole Kat and Kaboooodle.

I am sharing this with the Art Journey Design Team and Paint Party Friday.

Pear Tree

I spied the bah humbug kitty kat hanging out in the pear tree today.

He is not fooling me though.  He is sitting in a bed of partridge feathers
and even has the evidence hanging out of his mouth!

Sure,,,,,what partridge?

This is an ATC size ornament for my tree this year.
Is your tree decorated yet?

I am sharing this with Paint Party Friday and  Stampotique Designers.

Joy to the World

Joy to the World

A very bah humbug kitty kat....he may feel silly wearing Santa´s
hat but I told him he´ll get extra fish for dinner tonight so
he agreed.

He wants to wish you all a very Merry Kittymas.

Recycle

Meow

I like to recycle store bought greeting
cards that people send me.
Here I used a cat that I received.
I cut it out and added a crown.
I mean every princess needs a crown,
just ask Kate if you don´t believe me.
A few crowns were
stamped on the white card and a few paw
prints around this lilac persian. I topped it
off with some vellum, jewel studded brads
and fibers.

Want to see another princess?

This is my entry for Created By Hand.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Pocathontas

Pocathontas
This little princess looks so regal in her headband
and beads.
My play on words of course comes from Pocahontas,
later known as Rebecca Rolfe.
She was the daughter of a Virginian Indian Chief named
Wahunsunacawh. He was better known as the Emperor
Pohatan who was the head of a tributary tribal nation in
the Tidewater region of Virginia. These tribes made up
what is known as the Powhatan Chiefdom and spoke the
language of the Algonquian family.
Pocahontas is said to have saved the life of colonist,
John Smith from being executed by a group of
Powhatan hunters. You can read more about
Pocahontas in this article.
This is my royal entry to the Stampsmith and
themes for this week.

Noel 3

Noel
This is going to be a Red and White week.
This card was made using the assembly line process.
Lay your cards on your work table. Get your watercolors ready. Grab that two inch wide brush
and W-H-OOOOOO-S-H it across each consecutive card.
Remove your cat from the worktable....important step!
Of course,,,laughing all the way and making spirits bright,,,don´t forget a splash of water here and a spritz of paint there. I told you to remove the cat didn´t I. Add a few fibers and presto....you have yourself a one layer card ready for the post.
Over at Keep It Simple they are displaying lots of Christmas cards,,,go have a look.

Beneath a Wondrous Star

A Christmas cat sitting beneath a wondrous star.
The cat is sitting in some new fallen snow and the card itself was painted
with a glaze of silver and light blue watercolor mixed with Schmincke Aqua Shine....which unfortunately, does not show up too well on photos. Aqua Shine can be mixed with any color watercolor and gives you an instant ice-like shine without being gaudy or over the top.
Illustration Friday...IF....the prompt this week being, beneath.

What a Day

My day started out like this....another beautiful sunrise as seen from my patio.

As the morning progressed...... I could only think of going here!!!

Everyone was enjoying the sunshine.

Even Benny.

Soaking up the rays................

The heat eventually got the better of me and I had to retreat to cooler territory.
I started painting some watercolor paper adding a touch of metallics. I stamped it with a frame from Stampers Anonymous and a quote from Catslife Press.
The center is sliced open and peeled back to reveal Mr. Extraordinary,,,,,,
"el gato gordo",,,,Benny.
The card itself is stamped with a definition from Catslife Press which defines the meaning of cats life. It reads as follows,,,,,
catslife (kats´lif) n. 1.the opposite of dog´s life and rat race. 2.an independent lifestyle, with plenty of naps, snacks, toys, afternoons of sunshine and back-scratches.

What a lifestyle,,,,,sounds good to me.

Just how hot was it anyway?

Well, it was,,,,and still is for that matter,,,, sooooo hot that these guys are feeling right at home.

The weekend forecast is making them very happy!

Yup, you guessed it,,,,it is supposed to get even HOTTER!!

But have no fear,,,

because before you know it, we´ll be having to dig our way out again.
This is one of my watercolors from the winter of 2010 in the "Siebentischwald" forest.

I feel cooooooooler already,,,,don´t you?

Welcome to Galerie 46

Welcome to Galerie 46!

I will post my artwork as well as information about art workshops.

I love to make handbound books....I used my own hand painted marble paper on the cover with dark blue leather spine. The signatures are handmade watercolor paper.

Here is an example of my acrylic painting. Pears are one of my favorite motifs.

Of course, no post would be complete without a lovely pet. This is my precious Benny,,,

Big Ben, a British Shorthair.

This is an example of my watercolor work. A winter snow scene in Bavaria, Germany.
