KT Goodlove 195

If you see Tony, you let me know.

I don't remember where the sentence comes from. It was not The Sopranos. It cracks me up looking at the collage and trying to figure out who is speaking. And perhaps Tony is a creature who is invisible sometimes, and sometimes you can see him. Yes, I am easily entertained!

He's comin' right at us!

I couldn't resist coloring in the star. I know it doesn't match the cat girl's eyes, but it is close (in person). I like the colors in this collage. I also like the intense look on her face.

wait -- what???

I like how in this collage the rabbit is brown with a black outline and the cat girl's dress is black with a sort of brown trim. I also like the way the curves of the two characters follow each other and I think their ears are similar, too.

I know...isn't this wicked?

This collage has all the things going on that I love the most with the KT Goodlove series. The animal person's eye color matches the background color of the block and you can't really tell who is talking -- the cat girl or the rabbit -- maybe both.

365 Day 22 -- KT Goodlove 168 - 172

This can only mean one thing.

I made several KT Goodlove collages today/tonight. I found these blocks challenging so I worked on all of them on the same day...168 through 172. I will list 168 in this post, then the others separately.

365 Day 17 - KT Goodlove 162

it was bad - she crossed the line

This one is a bit of a departure for me in the KT Goodlove series. I usually add one of my Animal People. Today I cut and fit the background (which is alcohol inks and watercolor on butcher paper) around the rabbit and added just a hand/arm and then a phrase. I like it.

Also interesting to me was that when I finished it and went to my numbers stash to get the 162, the number already had a green background. I guess I was supposed to make this block this way.

KT Goodlove 159

You're improving -- let's put it like that.

That line comes from "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". At least that's where I got it.

Oh, and neither the scanner nor my point-&-shoot Canon camera will pick up the delicious beyond Barbie pinkness of the background of this collage. I might try and capture it sometime when it is daylight outside. I mean it is like poke your eyes out dayglo pink...very wonderful and intense color. Have you ever seen my Isaac Mizrahi purse set? It is kinda sorta like that. Kind of.

I broke into your house and went through your stuff.

This is #155 in the collaborative mixed media collage series called "KT Goodlove" that Kettle and I make for Art-o-mat. I do the paper parts after Kettle does the painting.

KT Goodlove # 148

"They only did it to say they'd done it."

Yeah, like that fixes it.

This is block #148 in the Kettle and Took collaboration series KTGoodlove for Art-o-mat®.

KT Goodlove # 144

"is unfolding up in her world."

I know, I know...tsk tsk tsk...I de-suggestive-ized Kettle's original phrase. Sorry. I think it works really well in Kettleland, but in my opinion (and no, I didn't consult with him, btw) I feel that KT Goodloveland is a mixture of both of us and it felt like I needed to alter the phrase as well as the block. And Kettle keeps reassuring me that whatever I end up doing to the block is the "right" way to do it. So there you go.

KT Goodlove # 139

"come on"

I hope you can hear Werner Herzog's voice saying "come on"...cuz that is where I got it from. He says it in pretty much every film I see him in (documentary OR movie role).

I love Werner Herzog.

KT Goodlove # 136

"Come with us now on a journey through time & space."

Oh man. These are THE teensy-est Animal People ever! Honestly, I am not trying to be all "ooh, look how great I am"...but I almost couldn't see what I was doing when I was cutting these cat people and gluing them together...LOL.

The "hill" is a handmade paper with little pieces of grasses and seeds and things...feels really cool to touch it.

The quote comes from the intro of the television show "The Mighty Boosh". Also, here.

KT Goodlove # 131

"girls like you think"

Usually I am the one who puts in the words (if there are any.) On rare occasions, Kettle adds snippets from old books. This is one of those occasions.

I'm not complaining, just sayin'...I find it even slightly more challenging to add my collage bits to words that are already on the block because the animal person has to be cut to fit "behind" it. It does make it slightly easier to tell the story, though. So -- either way -- it all works out in the end.

KT Goodlove #90

"Woah. It was like, woah."

That phrase cracks me up...I don't remember where I got it, but it was from tv.

Another one where the chartreuse green shows up as salmon in the scan, so I had to take a photo of the finished piece.

KT Goodlove #88

"I'm not the "other" anything. I'm me."

This is block #88 in the Kettle and Took collaboration series KTGoodlove for Art-o-mat®.

This yellow in the background is more of a chartreuse (or maybe canary) than what is showing up here. Slightly less saturated.
