Day Two Hundred Ten

every morning my mom makes a cup of joe

Yesterday I had a lovely lunch with Andi and her daughter Annabella (who I believe is 7). On the way home in the car, that statement popped out of Annabella. The way she said it was so matter of fact, it was hysterical. I knew it needed to be a collage. If it isn't the exact wording, it is really close.

This is another collage for my
Art-o-mat® series called "Animal People".

Day One Hundred Thirty-Five

Mmmm, mmmm....coffee and a cupcake and a cat girl.

I like the blended colors in the background of this collage...a layer of deep pink tissue under a layer of yellow.

This is another collage for my Art-o-mat® series called "Animal People".

Day One Hundred Thirty-Four

A fluffy green cat with coffee. This is a stab at making a sort of a tabby.

This tiny portrait is for my series "Penciled In" for Art-o-mat®.

(And it is not at all even CLOSE to my midnight deadline -- yay!)

Day One Hundred Thirty-Three

Oh geez -- I just barely squeaked in under the wire (my midnight deadline)!

I like this pink version of the coffee dog. I think he is cute and cuddly, but he looks like he is eating the cup instead of drinking from it.

Or perhaps he is licking the flap on a green envelope.

Day One Hundred Thirty (actually)

I still can't believe I messed up yesterday and forgot to post. Ah well.

Today's coffee cat has a color combination I haven't tried before: jade green under pale vermilion and orange. I like it. I think I will try it again.

This tiny portrait is for my series "Penciled In" for Art-o-mat®.

Day One Hundred Twenty-Nine...oh, man...

I can't beeeeeleeeeve I did that again! Yesterday was a bout day and I was doing a lot of last minute stuff and I thought that I posted this -- and obviously I didn't. Cripes.

heavy sigh

I like these shades of green together. It is a little hard to see the differences in the scan. I also tried making the steam from the dog's coffee with the silver colored pencil. I like how that turned out.

(I hope to be inspired to come back later and write something more...but for now, here is the arto-art for today.)

Day One Hundred Twenty-Seven

It has been a l-o-n-g day today...lots of errands and plans. I could use a cup of coffee, too.

Day One Hundred Eleven

Tick, tick, tick...

Yes, she's the office temp. Oddly enough, she actually doesn't mind making the coffee & donuts run. At least it gets her out of the office.

But if she hears "Hey, Ewe" one more time...

This is another collage for my
Art-o-mat® series called "Animal People".

KT Goodlove for April 17

Wow -- Here is block #50 (out of 50) in the Kettle + Took collaboration series "KT Goodlove" for Art-o-mat®.

I shipped the completed "KT Goodlove" set to Artists in Cellophane last week and Carol is beginning to send them out to
Art-o-mat® machines across the country! I ordered 10 for the Michigan machines, but I think I am going to hold onto them (once they arrive) for the Detroit Comics machine...you know... Buckety.

(Scroll down and you can see Buckety over on the right column of the front page of this blog...the teal colored machine.)

Detroit Comics is having their 2nd Anniversary Party on June 6. Kettle and I will make a couple of larger collaboration pieces to kickoff the series at the party. They will be available as prizes. Details later.

Day Eighty-One

Much too much going on lately...maybe that is what inspired today's block...subliminally, that is.

Whether it is make up gifts (as in making up after a fight) or make up gifts (as in dream up/pretend), this cat girl seems pretty wow'd at the thought of a gigantic ice cream cone guy.

This is block #24 in the Kettle + Took collaboration series "KT Goodlove" for Art-o-mat®.

These are the end of the "Penciled In" pieces that I made in December.

Day Forty-Five

Just got home from the bout...I am very tired tonight, and I don't even skate!

Here is a goat drinking coffee. I wish I had some coffee right now.

Day Forty-Two

A pair of bear portraits is what you get for today. One with coffee, one without.

They are for my
Art-o-mat® series called "Penciled In".

Day Forty

Wow...Day Forty. That sounds like a long time, and yet it has gone by very quickly!

Here is a trio of "Penciled In" portraits. I'm not sure exactly what this little guy is. He started out more hamster-y, then went kinda dormouse-y on me. I'm just calling him a non-specific little creature.

He looks pretty docile for the most part. But who knows once he gets tanked up on whatever it is he's drinking?

Day Thirty-Five

I thought of a name for this series. I am calling it "Penciled In" because the little portraits done in Prismacolor pencils.

Here is Wolfy drinking coffee. Green Wolfy, orange background. The original Wolfy is green and was first done on a ceramic tile. This is close to the original Wolfy, but I've never been able to get him exactly "right" since the first time.

(I tried dulling down the color on the scanner, but the background is still a bit punched up...slightly more intense than the actual block. Wolfy's color and the mug are about right, though.)

Oh...this reminds me, too...I keep meaning to go see Underworld, Rise of the Lycans. Maybe tomorrow!

Day Six

This Animal People block has some of my favorite elements...coffee, clock, eyes that match the background, and a direction/shape in a circle. (I hate cutting circles, but I love using them.)

This collage also shows that not all of my Cat People are females.

Oh, and I am trying a different setting on my scanner to eliminate those pesky dots in some of the images...let me know if this makes the page load more slowly.
