You've Never Had It So Random...{Turkey Day Edition}

Before we left for WV on Wednesday I received a package in the mail from my bloggy friend, Sondra. How exciting!

I can't wait to heat up this little pot and make my home smell like CUPCAKES! Thank you Sondra! You made me feel very special.

On Turkey Day we attempted a family portrait for our Christmas card. I think I'll just go with individual ones of the girls...
I love spending time with my granny and mom. Dinner was delicious!

The littles thought it was hilarious when Granny and Papa Pat put on their cowgirl hats. It was pretty funny...
We drove to our cousins' home to spend the night. Well, Dr. Hubby and the littles spent the night...Manga Dork and I left to go Black Friday shopping at 10 pm. We got back home at 8:30 AM and slept for 2 hours. I felt like a zombie on crack, but I got some great deals!
We headed back home at 6 PM. Since my Escalade is "broken" {the last I heard was something about $9,000 damage} we had to pile in Dr. Hubby's Ford F250 Superduty. Not nearly as comfy as the nice big seats and 6 DVD screens of the Escalade. Here's what the back seat looked like...
Wild Child propped on Manga Dork's knees.

This may be my fave picture of 2010...hahahahaha...Cutie was completely worn out. Manga Dork's head was in Cutie's lap, but in order to not die from the glare of a moody teen I will not show a pic of her...heehee.
On Saturday {I still had Black Friday Hangover} we ended the Turkey Day celebrations with dinner and game night at my inlaws. We played Monopoly and MIL beat us all! Be on the lookout for flying pigs!

Hope you had a fantastic holiday!

Video Night...On Crack!

Anybody can pull off "Video Night"...right? Get the movie...pile in front of the tv...provide a snack or three. Well, I decided to take our "Video Night" to the next level.

Here's how we celebrated with a "Toy Story 3 DVD Premiere Party."

While grocery shopping I picked up mac n cheese, cheezits, gummies, and cupcake fixins' for our dinner. Not the most nutritious of meals...but most video night meals aren't balanced nutritiously...right?! For an added touch I got plates and cupcake decos from the birthday section. My mom had bought the movie for the girls, but you could buy it, rent it, PPV it, or even request it at the library! Free is a great price!

For some added flair I dug around in the kids' room and pulled out everything they had from Toy Story 3.

A yellow $1 plastic table cloth and some green napkins from my stash of birthday leftovers made the table very festive. Cutie asked me "Who's birthday is today?"

I had also picked up Toy Story 3 pjs for the girls. They needed long sleeve pajamas and I usually wait and pick them up for occasions like this. I would have bought them anyway...but this way they feel SPECIAL!

Can you feel the excitement building?! No?...

How about now?! I had to go to the Boys Section to get the pjs. For some reason several of the Toy Story items are geared more toward boys. Note to Disney/Pixar...this movie is more of a "unisex" theme...more girl stuff please!

Mr. PricklePants was eyeing the Cheezits....
and Buttercup wouldn't stay out of the gummies so we sat down to start our celebration.
While in the birthday section I had spied a clearance rack with this kit marked down from $6 to $3! Fun!

Even "Big Baby" was excited to color a ring! {That baby creeps me out in the movie}

Our fave 2 cousins were visiting so they joined us for the party. Coloring the rings was a fun activity.

I even had to do one!

Cousin Beth found out what happens when you lick what your colored!

After eating the mac n cheese the girls each had a yummy cupcake.

Movie time!
The girls were still chattering about it the next day! Mission Complete!

Meet And Greet...And Good News!

Wild Child had "Meet The Teacher" today. Several of her preschool buddies are in her class. Jadyn pushed her wheelchair around the room showing her the different areas.

We gladly unloaded all the supplies from the list. This will make things alot easier on the first day of school! Somehow I had not envisioned a wheelchair as part of her first day of kindergarten.

After meeting her teacher {who I think is going to be fabulous} we booked it to an ortho appt. They took 2 more xrays and the doc says that the break is not even really visible in the xray anymore! 2 more weeks of lugging around her big pink cast and it can come off! Hooray!

Cutie entertained us while waiting in the ortho room. She said she thought her knee was broken and she needed a big ORANGE cast...lol. Then she peeled a sticker off her shirt and said, "Now...I must eat this." Then she put it in her mouth and ate it. It was so flippin' funny Manga Dork and I laughed til we cried.
We celebrated at Applebees.

And Another Feminist Hits The Floor

Yesterday Dr. Hubby and I took the 2 littles to the mall. While Dr. Hubby shopped for a new watch I took the girlies to see Cats and Dogs. Cutie says, "That is a veeerrryyy scary cat." Both of them were squirming in their seats for the last 20 minutes. I think it would be better for kiddos ages 7 - 11ish. It was fun though...the Hannibal Lechter references are hilarious!

Wild Child fell in love with this apron at TJMaxx. It was from a Mommy and Me set on clearance for $12! She grabbed a broom and went around sweeping the floor...June Cleaver would have been so proud...
Happy Monday!

It's No Wonder My Self Esteem Is At Zero!

This morning Cutie and I were in the waiting room at Manga Dork's dentist. Manga Dork woke up with a toothache from a cavity on Sunday morning...the dentist called it a Mountain Dew cavity. Anyway back in the waiting room here is a conversation I had with Cutie {aka my self esteem coach}.

Scrappy: {In an effort to pass some time} Cutie come here. Mommy wants to count your freckles to see if you have any new ones.

Cutie stands really still while Scrappy counts them.

Scrappy: 1.2.3......13! You have a new one!

Cutie: {comes closer to scrappy and puts finger between Scrappy's brows} Now let me count your hairs....1.2.....a whole many! Pretty soon you will be all HAIRY!

Keep in mind she has only one volume...LOUD!

Manga Dork's reaction to this story..."Sounds like it's time to wax."

Holey Underpants

After speech therapy yesterday I took the 2 little ones to the potty. After they were done I decided I better go too. They were both laughing and playing. Then Cutie turns to me and says "You have a hole in your panties! It's where you FARTED! {Insert about 10 farting noises mixed with laughter here}" She said it in her "outdoors voice" cause she has no other volume. I could have died. Why would I be so embarrassed when we were in there alone? Well, unfortunately I knew a secret. The bathroom is right next to the waiting area AND I had witnessed more times than I could count the thinness of the walls.

Again?!

My Mother's Day fun began on Wednesday with a Mother's Day luncheon with Wild Child. She gave me a very beautiful flower.

Then on Thursday I was Cutie's guest at her Mother's Day luncheon. She also gave me a very beautiful flower. I can't wait to put them in my schoolhouse.

Before we left for WV on Saturday, Dr. Hubby gave me this Longaberger Mother's Day basket. My verdict on receiving the same thing as his mom {and we opened them together too} is that I didn't like it. It took some of the "specialness" out of the moment and the gift. I love my basket though!

In WV we stopped at Hobby Lobby. Let me tell ya...that store is FABULOUS! It is not just crafty stuff...it's loaded with Home Decor too! I want one of EVERYTHING! I gave my mom a gift card so she can do some retail therapy in this cool place. Manga Dork picked up these adorable items for my kitchen wall {ok, I may or may not have handed them to her}.

They are just SO adorable...and she was looking for my present!

She also picked out this embossing folder for my cuttlebug. How cute would this be for Super Bowl 2011 invites...cause you know the Saints are so awesome they are gonna do it again!

So on Sunday when I was hugging Wild Child I said, "Guess what today is!?" She said, "What?" I said, "It's Mother's Day!"
She said, "AGAIN?!" lol.
We went to church and then out to eat at Golden Corral {thought of you Kristina!}. This is a pic of FIL and MIL...BIL and SIL w/ niece and nephew, and us.

So, what tokens of LOVE were bestowed upon you? How did you spend your special day?

When You're Close To The Ground...

There's more dirt to be found!

Yesterday was a VERY long day...preschool...Mother's Day luncheon with 2 energetic young ladies...dental appt...TOPS...TBall practice...

I was so glad when the end of tball practice arrived. I was asking Wild Child's coach about the game schedule and concessions/snack schedule, when I turned around I saw both of my delicate little sugar and spice girls playing in the MUD!

What?!

All these boys...and the GIRLS are the only muddy children!?

Then Cutie ran over to the Escalade and cleaned her hands down the side of it {I just washed it the day before}.

They rode home in their underpants and went to bed without dessert.

Don't mess with a tired momma!

I Wasn't Joking

I wasn't joking when I told the kids that if they didn't behave in Walmart I would put a price tag on them and sell them.

Have you ever threatened your children with something ridiculous? Did it work?

Where Are Pockets When You Need Them?!

Cutie Patootie performed with her preschool class on Tuesday evening. She wanted to wear her tutu...again. Yes, that would make grandparent's day, class pictures, and now the spring performance. I'm gonna have to hide it.

This is how Cutie stood for 13 out of the 15 minutes she was on stage. I was just waiting for the skirt to hit her ankles. I suspicion I have the teacher to blame. Notice the boys with their hands in their pockets...I think she thought she was supposed to do it too.

{Insert eyerolling here}

Making Someone Happy...Maybe TOO Happy!

To help me out of my funk yesterday I decided to go outside and enjoy the nice weather. I cleaned the porch and made it look like someone actually lives here and we took some over ripe apples out to the horses {please ignore the raggedy fence...we had an evil knievil cow and it needs repaired}.

The little ones love to interact with the horses. Wild Child opens her mouth really wide every time she gives a horse an apple...so hilarious! I felt so much better after some fresh air and sunshine. It felt good to make someone else {the horses} happy too. However...

I think we may have overdone it...LOL! I told you they REALLY like apples! I am so glad my camera was ready when I turned around!
Thank you for all the cool blogs to visit and the sweet compliments {sorry for being so needy}.
This post is dedicated to our horse Babe.

A Whole Week!

Yesterday my inlaws took the 2 littles with them to WV. They are staying until Wednesday. Then my mom is going to get them and keep them until we arrive at her house Saturday.

I didn't know whether to jump for joy...cry...or vomit.

I SO need some "me time" after all this snow. Oh the scrapping I can do...

But I miss my littles.

Getting Out! Hallelujah!

Yesterday we got out of the house! Woo Hoo! These 2 had not been off the farm for 2 whole weeks! Trust me...you could tell! We went to Cabela's and bought them both life jackets for Wild Child's pool party. They refused to take them off until we were at the register.

The kids enjoyed going around to see the "stuffed animals." I prefer them alive. And to prove how happy we were to get out of the house...I submit the following evidence...

What is making you SMILE this weekend?
