Bouclé zipped cardi

I planned to knit a zipped cardigan to my daughter because I had this purple-gray no-name bouclé yarn in my stash. I thought it would be perfect to experiment with the zipped front.
(Bouclé yarn is a nightmare: I had several dropped stitches on the right side. Luckily they do not run down… :-P )
The design is as simple as possible: straight body and set in sleeves with long (upturnable) ribbed cuffs. Of course I had forgot to add 2 more centimetres to the fronts (I had not wanted a band) - so I had to rehung the fronts to the machine and knit 8 additional rows. But the issue ended surprisingly nicely: the zipper fitted the band almost perfectly. Next time I knit CX-CX (tubular) so the zipper will be covered in both side - this will be the perfect solution.
In the end the research resulted a very wearable cardigan (although I think that the neckline a bit too wide and next time I kit the sweater definitely longer)
And my daughter love it very much.

Mivel az elfekvő fonalaim között volt ez a - lányom számára tökéletes - lila-szürka bouclé fonal, terveztem, hogy kötök neki egy zippzáros kardigánt. Úgy gondoltam ez kiváló alkalom lesz a zippzár bevarrásával kísérletezni.
(A bouclé fonal különben egy rémálom: egy csomószor estek le a szemek a jobb oldalon. Még szerencse, hogy nem szaladtak végig... :-P )
A minta olyan egyszerű amennyire csak lehet: egyenes vonalú törzs, egyenes bevarrott ujjak, bordás, visszahajtható mandzsettával. Hát persze, hogy elfelejtettem plusz 2 cm-t hozzáadni az elejéhez (eredetileg nem akartam pántot) - így vissza kellett rakni a gépre és kötni még 8 sort. Viszont az eredmény meglepően jó lett: a zippzár majdnem tökéletesen illeszkedik a plusz pánthoz. Legközelebb CX-CX beállítással (csőkötés) kötöm, így a zippzár mindkét oldalról be lesz vonva - ez lenne a legjobb megoldás.
A kísérletezés végeredménye egy teljesen hordható kardigán lett (habár a nyakkör egy kicsit túl széles és legközelebb hosszabbra kötöm).
És a lányom nagyon szereti.

Fabergé Tunic

I love the Fabergé by Laura Aylor - so I must have translated it to the machine. 

I dreamed a tunic with empire wairst-line to my daughter. She likes pink so I choose this dark grey for the base yarn. The front was knitted with pink beads while the back is simple without them - it is interesting how the beads changed the pattern...

The bands are reversed commercial stocking stitch bands - crocheted off with the shiny pink yarn used as second yarn. Based on the original plan I should have sewn on a button - but I thought it was better without it.

Over all we (my daughter and I) are fond of this little tunic but even more it was approved by my mother: 'Finally it is long enough to cover her waist so do not catch a cold!"

Egészen odavagyok Laura Aylor Fabergé mintájáért - így "átfordítottam" gépi kötésre.
Empire vonalú tunikát képzeltem el belőle a lányomnak. Mivel kedvence a rózsaszín, alapfonalnak ezt a kontrasztos sötétszürkét választottam. Az elejét gyöngyökkel kötöttem, míg a háta maradt egyszerű - érdekes, hogy a gyöngyök mennyire megváltoztatták a mintát...
A szegélyek sima harisnyakötésű pántok, amiket a fényes rózsaszín fonallal "horgolam rá". Eredetileg az eleje egy gombbal záródott volna - de már úgy gondolom, hogy jobb nélküle.
Összességében nagyon elégedettek vagyunk ezzel a kis tunikával (a lányom és én), mi több még anyámnak is tetszik: " Végre nem lóg ki a dereka és nem fázik meg!"

Firebird Shawl pattern is available

I have finished the Firebird Shawl pattern. It is available now on Ravelry as hand knitting pattern.

Végre elkészültem a Firebird Shawl mintájával. A Ravelry-n már elérhető kézikötős minta.

Firebird triangle scarf

I always run out of yarn because unfortunately I am not able to estimate the proper amount of it. So I started this triangle pattern knitted from bottom up as one piece - knit your scarf as long as your yarn lasts! My "firebird" lace adorn and emphasize this scarf spine which is framed with plain knitting panels. This kind of construction is ideal to show off your most beautiful of yarns while it has the feminine lace part as well. 

I used the OOAK hand dyed luxurious pure silk yarn of DyeForYarn to knit this scarf which is very soft but shimmers like metal and has magnificent drape.

I blocked it quite aggressively to open the stitches and the scarf keeps its shape nicely - only the top tends to curl a bit. But with this method it regained a kind of copper wire feeling - it is transparent and metallic...
Yarn: 100% mulberry silk
Colour: Copper or rust. This is a variegated muted red with bluish, rusty and grey parts.
Measurement: spine length: 31,5", width: 64"

Állandóan elfogy kötés közben a fonalam mert egyszerűen képtelen vagyok kiszámolni, hogy mennyire is lesz szükségem. Na, ezért született ez az egy darabban, lentről felfelé kötődő háromszögletű kendő - addíg kötheted amíg csak a fonalad tart! A"firebird" csipkemintám díszíti és hangsúlyozza a kendő gerincét, két oldalról pedig sima kötött panelek szegélyezik. Tökéletes kendőminta arra, hogy eldicsekedjünk valamelyik különleges fonalunkkal a maga szépségében - és még egy kis nőies csipke is van benne...

A kendőhöz a DyeForYarn tiszta selyem fonalát használtam, ami egyszerűen csodálatos, észbontó és gyönyörű az esése és az a szín ... Na. Egyszerűen szerelem.

Meglehetősen agresszívan blokkoltam, hogy szétnyíljanak a szemek és szépen tartja is a formáját. Egyedül a tetején hajlamos pöndörödni... Cserébe viszont olyan lett mint egy rézháló - átlátszó, fémes, mintha drótból lenne...

Szín: Réz és rozsda. Meg vörös és narancs. És mintha tényleg fém lenne, úgy fénylik...

Simple Summer

To continue the spring - summer collection, let me introduce this Simple Summer Stole.
The striped lace pattern is as simple as possible - as it is indicated by the name. This simplicity is for a purpose: to emphesize the uniqenes of the hand-dyed mohair yarn. I do not like the long self striping or batic ombre yarns but this beauty is absolutely gorgous! The colour is like a red berry pie... (with vanilla ice-cream it would be perfect for summer...)

Yarn: NinaNinocska 25% silk, 75% super kid mohair
Colour: purple, pink, cyclamen, lilac, red

Folytatván a tavaszi - nyári válogatást, hadd mutassam be a Simple Summer Stole-t. 
A csíkos csipkeminta a lehető legegyszerűbb - ahogy a neve is jelzi. Ennek az egyszerűségnek oka van: így hangsúlyoztam a kézzel festett moher fonal különleges színét. Nem szeretem a hosszú átmenetes öncsíkozó vagy batik fonalakat, de ez a szépség egyszerűen csodálatos! Olyan a színe mint egy erdei gyümölcsös pitének... (vaníliafagyival tökéletes lenne nyárra...)

Summer Dots Stoles

This is my new design of a stole for the coming spring and the summer. (I am very optimistic about coming spring...)
Actually the pattern derives from the Dots Shawl - but instead of the rehung border I use vertical ladder motives with the delicate lace body. Other advantage of this new pattern - it is knitted as one piece.
The yarn is the classic lace knitting merino wool which is used frequently by me: very slender but has beautiful colour. I have several more colours so more stole is coming!

Yarn: 100% Merino
Measurement: 59" x 15,5", 51" x 15,5"

Íme a frissen tervezett stólám a közeledő tavaszi - nyári időszakra. (Rendkívül optimista vagyok a közeledő tavaszt illetően...)
A minta tulajdonképpen a Dots Shawl-ból ered - de ellentétben annak keresztben kötött, majd szemfelszedett szegélyével, itt függőleges létra motívumot alkalmaztam a szokott csipke testhez.
A fonal - a már többször használt - klasszikus csipkekötő merinó gyapjú: nagyon vékony, de szép élénk színű. Sok egyéb színem van még belőle így több ilyen stóla is várható.

Lady Moth

 
I have finished the new pattern planned for the first birthday of the blog. The name is came from the fly-like motif of the lace edgeing. (Yes, yes, I definitely see it there...)
This is a long and narrow halfcircle shaped scarf - shawl - shoulderette, its construction is like the one of the Braid Scarf. You can use it as a wrap - to warm your shoulder or like an ordinary scarf around your neck. Ideal accessory for the autumn or the winter.

Yarn: Barka Díva (50% Alpaca, 50% Merino wool)
Colour: grey
Measurement: 67,7" x 14,5" 

Végre befejeztem a blog születésnapjára tervezett mintát. A nevét a csipkés széldíszben felfedezhető légy (vagy moly) -szerű képződményről kapta. (Igen, én határozottan látom ott azt...)

Ez tulajdonképpen egy losszúkás és keskeny félkör alakú kendő - stóla - vállacs, felépítése megegyezik a Braid Scarf-al. Használhatju magunk köré csavarva vállmelegítőként vagy mint egy átlagos sálat a nyakunk körül. Tökéletes kiegészítő őszre illetve télre.

Fonal: Barka Díva (50% alpaka, 50% merinó gyapjú)

Szín: Themis

Bamboo scarf

This is not what I had planned. I wanted to make a nice bulky halfcircle shoulderette but the yarn opposed. It continuously fallen from the needles. So instead of my plan I made a scarf with a simple tuck stitch pattern. But I have to say this is a beautiful yarn! Quite heavy and slippery but it has such a wonderfully silky touch and vivid shiny colour. But unfortunately its thickness is over my poor machine's limit consequently it was the last time I tried to use it.

Yarn: Barka Mandarin (100% bamboo)
Colour: peacock (bight blueish green or greenish blue, turquoise)
Measurement: 13,5" x 59"

Hát nem ezt terveztem. Eredetileg egy helyes kis félkör alakú kendőcskét akartam kötni, de sajna a gépen nem fogadott szót. A szemeket folyamatosan elhagyta... Így hát kötöttem egy sálat csipkeszerű mintával. A fonal, az viszont gyönyörű! Meglehetősen nehéz és csúszós, de a tapintása csodásan selymes és fényes élénk a színe. Sajnos a gépem határait a vastagsága meghaladja, tehát ez volt az utolsó alkalom, hogy kötöttem belőle.

To build a halfcircle

How to form a sideways knitted and half-circle (or half-doughnut) scarf, shaped by short rows in the stocking stitch section. It is knitted along with the lace border as one piece. Apply your own lace edging design - please remember to choose a pattern which is loose enough to stretch during blocking. I used rib lace and openwork rib lace versions.

 

After the straight beginning:
     1.  2 rows N
     2.  1 row BX (put pushers rest position as the chart indicate)
     3.  carriage on the left: hook yarn to the nearest needle with pusher in rest position 

     4.  1 row BX

     5.  repeat from step 1.

Chains Shoulderette

This half-circle scarf (or shoulderette) is edged with lace chains and has stocking stitch body. The inspiration came from Henslowe by Beth Kling which is one of my favourite patterns. So I tried to forge a pattern for knitting machine and this is the result.

The scarf is side-ways knitted as one piece and the halfcircle (or half-doughnut) form is shaped by short rows in the stocking stitch section.

Yarn: Barka Limonádé (100% bamboo)
Colour: white (not bright white, it is cloudy)
Diameter: 51"

Ez a félkör alakú kendő (vagy ... ööö ... vállacs?) lánc-szerű csipkével van szegélyezve és sima (harisnya) kötés az alapja. Az inspiráció Beth Kling Henslowe kendőjétől származik - ami az egyik kedvenc mintám. Tehát megpróbáltam valami hasonlót kitalálni kötőgépre és ez lett az eredmény.

Egy darabban, oldalvást van kötve, a félkör (vagy félfánk - hehe - félgyűrű) formáját pedig a sima részben kötött rövidített sorok adják.

Fonal: Barka Limonádé (100% bambusz)
Szín: fehér (nem az a szemkiütős hófehér, hanem olyan felhős)
Átmérő: 130 cm
