Grateful Sunday

This Sunday, I'm grateful for:
  • the very humbling experience it was to accompany the congregation at our church services today. I didn't play a single verse without a mistake. It's frustrating how my talent can only go so far and how I can't ever really overcome nervousness. Maybe I'm not grateful for this.
  • healthy children. I'm just waiting for someone to get sick. It's that time of year.
  • November. Hooray for the holidays! Unfortunately, this also means about one more month until I turn old.
  • the line in "Joseph Smith's First Prayer" that says, "but undaunted still he trusted in his Heavenly Father's care."
  • Miles, whose two favorite words are "mama" & "daddy." How cute is that.

Hooray for organists! Don't worry, the nervousness gets better over time :) Just remember, not very many people are really paying attention to the accompaniment anyway; because of that knowledge, I never get nervous anymore unless it's a solo or something.

Are you referring to 30 as being old? Just think of how much you have accomplished and how much you have to show for it :)

sara, i wish i played the organ, i actually just filled in for the organist on the piano. neal said he didn't hear any mistakes, but it still makes me frustrated. :)

and yes, 30 is approaching. but you're totally right. that's what i always tell myself when i start to freak out. :)

You're going to think I'm so lame, but I just now discovered your personal blog! I love your room somewhere and hello, DUH! It never actually occured to me to clink on your other links, but there you go, I'm not that bright.

I LOVE it. Just as darling as your other blog and your kids are SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Of course, I am biased what with the red hair and all, but seriously. MMMmmm good! Not that I want to eat them or anything! :-)

Anyway, I also love love love Joseph Smith's First Prayer. Someone played a piano solo on Sunday in RS and the Spirit was so strong. I was crying. It is beautiful. Great gratitude list!!
