We need some new blood!!!
In the (somewhat inebriated) voice of my favourite-ever film actor, W. C. Fields:
ReplyDelete"Roll up, roll up, ladies and gentleman (tho' I think that's a gentleman there, can't quite rightly see), got a perfect opportunity for you here, nice little number, just roll up from time to time and take the cheque, work when you want. No responsibility, ladies and gentleman, no hours and no boss. But what a whale, boys, what a whale, laugh all the day to the bank. Have fun, be yourself and say what you think, eh? Sign up, sign up, boys and girls!"
...
By legend, W. C. Field's chances of a post-talkie career were wrecked by a nationwide radio broadcast Fields made in 1940 to support the American war drive, a broadcast that went out live and unexpurgated, in which Fields spluttered during chitchat and the hostess offered him a glass of water. "Never drink the stuff, madam", he replied, "fish fornicate in it".
Just sayin' ...

ReplyDeleteThat's why I'm here; why aren't you? Nothing ta give? I don't believe it! Can't be arsed, that I can believe but shit man, well you seriously should be. There are precious few guys out there, and when they call, boy, I jump - so come give a hand!
Cheers and here's lookin' at ya when you come back with something.Yes, you, I mean you.
You should all seriously go here and get downloading and listening ... one of America's most talented bands right now ... silent, a heads up - http://southernshelter.com/category/maserati/.
ReplyDeleteThanks...I'm on my way!
DeleteSo, silent, what do you think of Maserati? Shades of Floydesque meets Television's Adventure, a new millenium's Hawkwind? Unfortunately no longer very active after the death of their founding drummer, but a great archive of live gigs, and whatever you think of them, don't miss this other great gift, a one-off - the reformed Faust (the right version with the bassist) came to Athens, GA (home of the B-52s, ladies and gennlemen) back in 2009 and you can still grab it here, live and definitely not to be missed: http://southernshelter.com/2009/10/out-of-towners-faust-40-watt-101009/.

(Currently listening to the great 2015 recording of Jah Wobble back on track over here: http://hotelmaidssmileinunison.blogspot.com/2015/06/jah-wobble-invaders-of-heart-derby.html - again, go get!)
I'm going to have to spend a bit more time with the Maserati. It is very interesting. I try not to make snap judgements on any band. I usually need time for the music to sink in a bit.
