We are going out of town for the weekend. I know, it's shocking!!!
We are going up to Fishlake! Yay! Dustyn's mom is coming up for the weekend as well. I am super excited.
But sadly, I wish I had a weekend to stay home and get all my housework and deep cleaning done. I guess there will be plenty time for that during the winter, aye?
So we are off - talk to ya'll on Monday. Well, make that Tuesday!
Adios.

Home again, home again.
Our weekend was awesome! We had our family reunion up at Gooseberry (the one up Salina Canyon). Some of you may have even gone on field trip there when you were in 3rd grade! Of course, I never had the opportunity, but I hear it's lots of fun! I did finally hear the legend of Annie Bangs. :)
We stayed in cabins and there was plenty of room for our entire family! It was so much fun! Sadly, I never even picked up my camera. Dustyn did take a few pictures, but I haven't taken the chance to download them (it takes for-e-ver on his laptop). So I will get them soon!
We had a lot of fun activities. Washoo Tournaments, Arts and Crafts, Story Telling, Talent Shows, and much more. I will do a more detailed post about it later when I have pictures. Hopefully it will turn into a fun family tradition!

I miss my laptop. Dustyn's just isn't the same. :( Hopefully I get it back this week (so I can get those pictures).
Well - I am off to play a game with Dustyn. I will catch up later. I hope! :)
Have a fabulous week ya'll.

By the way . . .
I will basically be MIA for a week or so. Miss me, okay?
We have a family reunion this weekend! Yay! Very excited!
And my computer is at Dr. Mac's getting fixed. She will be all shiny and new in a few days! Double Yay!
Until then, I will be around occasionally. Depending on how often I decide to steal Dustyn's computer. He doesn't really need it, does he? :) I already miss my bookmarks and RSS feed. :( But it will be coming home soon. :)
Have a fantastic weekend! I know I will! Life is fabulous!

Love. Eternal Love.
Today was Dustyn's Grandpa's Funeral. It was a really good service. It was fun to hang out and talk to so many relatives that I don't know very well. I mean Dustyn and I have been together almost 5 years, but most of them live out of state. It was a really nice day. Grandpa Freeman really was an amazing man. I am sad I never really got to know him.
At the beginning of the funeral, they were reading the obituary. Something caught me completely off guard. Dustyn's sweet mom included our Hannah. As they were reading her name, I stopped and thought, are they talking about my Hannah? At that point, I lost it. I had a complete meltdown. It has been a long time since I have done that. I was sobbing. (At least I was at a Funeral so I didn't look so crazy - although it started during the opening song and I was on the front row!) I talk about her all the time, but there was something about someone else saying her name out loud that completely caught me off guard and brought back so many emotions. (And it meant so much to me that she was included) But I wasn't sad. I was so happy. Happy that I know I will be with her again. Happy to be her Mother. I was a complete wreck the entire funeral. I am sure the people around me were a little confused, because Grandpa Freeman's funeral really was a happy one and a time to celebrate his 94 years of life. I have only known him 5 of those years (almost). But I sat sobbing - the entire time.
It felt good to feel her again. It has been something I have missed (not the sobbing in public). I love knowing that I can still feel her, even though it isn't as constant as it use to be. I know she is there. She will always be my baby.
Grandpa Freeman, we love you! Thanks for the legacy you left us. What an amazing man you are.
Eson Milton Freeman
Eson Milton Freeman passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at his daughter's home. He was born in Yucon, Idaho on March 28, 1914 to Milton John and Lydia Stewart Adams Freeman. He was called to serve an LDS mission from 1936-1938 in Canada. He married his sweetheart, Maurine Dustin in the Salt Lake Temple on March 8, 1940. They had six children.
Milton farmed in Osgood, Idaho until finding a position as a laborer in the AEC Plant when it opened in Arco. He studied and achieved his Journeyman Electrician's license. He volunteered as a civilian electrician in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He worked in construction until his retirement in 1976. He worked on small motors for Kirby vacuums plus being a door-to-door salesman.
He held many positions in the church, including Bishop, YM President, a teacher of many organizations and a fireside favorite! He and his wife served two missions: Hartford, CT in 1986 and Fiji Islands in 1988.
Milton's mind was sharp right to the end and he never lost his sense of humor. He is survived by two daughters and two sons: Myrna Allen, Marva Ward, David Milton (Nancy) Freeman and Dallas Dustin (Penny) Freeman; two sisters: Lavela Petersen and Nada Meikle; 22 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Millene (Stan) Murphy and son, Daniel Morley Freeman; granddaughters Lynea Allen and Dilene Murphy; great-granddaughter Hannah Allen; and five siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Genola LDS Chapel, Main & Center, Genola, Utah. Friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery, 610 S. State, Provo. Condolences may be sent to info@bergmortuary.com.

Too slow? Fast enough?
I really have been trying to get my blog to load faster. I was wondering if it has helped at all. On my computer it loads super fast, but I want to hear what you think! :) Has it helped? If not, what else can I get rid of, besides my recent comments widget? I like it! :)
Some favorites for a Tuesday.
My first favorite thing of today is my phone. (the LG Chocolate 3) I love it. (about time, huh?) It's a fun phone, and I love all the fun features. And is has some really cool ring-tones. :) (Oh yah, it may look black, but don't let them fool you - it's blue! I have finally got over it though. :)
Of course, Dustyn own the light blue one (because I thought I wanted Black! Ha ha)
I am totally loving the Olympics and I think this girl is amazing! Nastia Rocks!
I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am thankful for Eternal Families! Dustyn's Grandpa passed away on Saturday. Although it is sad, we know that we will see him again. We know that in the next life we can be together forever, if we live worthily. Knowing that I can be with my family members that have passed on and my sweet Hannah, makes me want to be a better person everyday. I love the Gospel and the truths that it shares. This is a photo that Dustyn made of his Grandfather a few years ago for Christmas. I love it.
Chet. It was his birthday on Sunday and I failed to post it. Sorry it's late buddy - not like you would actually read this and know that. :) So Happy Birthday Chet. Can you believe that he is 18 years old? Seriously, how does that happen? I think it finally hit him yesterday that he did have to go back to school today!

I love Bagelfuls! Yum! I know you are all thinking - why not just buy bagels and cream cheese? It would probably cheaper and have less preservatives. Hmm... but it's just not the same! I love pulling a bagel-ful out of the freezer and popping it in the toaster over. The outside is crispy and chewy and the inside is cream cheese (frozen, of course!) Mmmm..... I'm weird I know. I also just love pulling one out of the freezer and gnawing on it! :) I think they are so good and much better than your average bagel and cream cheese. And nice when you are on the run!

Seriously, how do they swim so fast?
When I swim, I barely move. (okay, so really, I can't swim)
But that isn't what my post is about. Just something I am amazed at.
So yesterday while Dustyn was in meetings for school, I went over to his classroom and set up his 20 new iMacs. What a lot of work! You wouldn't think it would be that tiring, but it took me about 2 hours to unpack all of them, pull all the sticky protective stuff off and set them up. Then it took me another 5 or 6 hours to run all the updates and set up student accounts. What a day. But it was kinda fun! I like getting ready for school. I am pretty sure Dustyn doesn't get as excited as I do about it! :)
And then, the best part of the day, one of my BFFs, Carrie and her husband Rodney, stopped and had dinner with us at Steve's Steakhouse. MY favorite restaurant! Love it. It was so fun (and always is) to talk and catch up. (Of course, the food was great too) I love that they are some of our adoption peeps. I am so glad we became friends all those years ago. Let's see . . . it's been 11 years this month. Crazy!
Another exciting thing that is coming up for us is that we are going to Disney Land with them at the end of October. I am so excited!
Oh yeah and don't forget, if you know anyone considering adoption, they are an amazing couple. Feel free to pass along their information.

Why your student should take a Mac to School. (or you)
I just had to post. You know us. Always ready to help someone by switching to a Mac. Just in case you were wondering.
It's back-to-school time again. So if you're about to send your kid off to college with a new computer, here are some reasons to make that computer a Mac:
1. Issues are the last things a kid needs at college and Macs have fewer issues with viruses, malware, and icky stuff like that.
It has also been my experience that Macs have fewer issues with almost everything else, as well. This was my daughter's first year away at college and she required technical help from me only once.
2. Most Macs sold today have a built-in video camera and iChat software. So it's easy to communicate by video, audio, or even plain old text chat. Of course this assumes that you have a Mac of relatively recent vintage.
3. Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) includes easy-as-pie remote screen sharing that lets you see and control your student's Mac from anywhere in the world. So, if your kid calls you up, frantic because Microsoft Word has disappeared from the Dock, you can take over the screen and fix it in just a few seconds.
4. Every Mac comes with fast 802.11n Wi-Fi built-in so your student can join most WiFi networks in the library, dorm, Starbucks or wherever — with just one click.
5. A Mac is the only computer that can run both Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows; a Dell, HP, Sony, Lenovo or other PC just can't do that.
6. Every Mac sold today can run the latest version of Microsoft Office and run it quite nicely, I might add.
7. Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Home & Student Edition (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Entourage) is just $119.99 at www.Amazon.com.
8. College students (and faculty and staff members) receive free iPod touches or iPod nanos if they purchase new Macs before Sept. 15. How could you not love a free iPod?
9. College students (and faculty and staff members) can save on any Mac, selected software and accessories via the Apple Education Discount available at Apple-authorized campus stores and the Apple Online Store for Education.
10. Excellent free software for producing masterful movies (iMovie), dazzling DVDs (iDVD), awesome audio (GarageBand), and wonderful Web sites (iWeb), and for managing digital audio, video (iTunes) and photos (iPhoto).
11. Free personal shopping assistance is available at all Apple Stores. I've shopped in a lot of computer stores over the years and Apple Stores definitely have the most honest and knowledgeable staffs.
And last but not least:
12. Because Macs are cool. You wouldn't want other students making fun of your kid, would you?

We have been there a few times and I LOVE it. I went to Yoasis once (Hogi Yogi's imitation) and it just didn't compare. It is so good! And the raspberry's are SO good. I have been craving them ever since and well.... all the ones that I buy at the store just don't taste the same. The ones at Red Mango are SO fresh! Yum!
If you haven't been there, you should try it. But be prepared to spend money. ;)

Getting the word out.
We decided to follow in Ron and Jessica's lead.
I went and got my mom's cricut last night and made some vinyl cutouts for my truck and Dustyn's car. We could only find black vinyl at the moment so you can't really see it on the car window, but good enough. It was kinda fun and kinda monotonous. Hope it catches a few people's attention. If anything, you'll know it's me when you see my truck. :) Sadly, I didn't leave enough room for www. I put it on there and it looked silly. So I will have to try something else. (Now I am just hoping and praying it comes off when I decide to take it off! :) But it should.)
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

We're Home!
We are finally home. Okay . . . we got home late Sunday night. The conference was amazing and I am so thankful we were able to attend. I met so many wonderful people (I even met Carly on Saturday, she is too funny and super cute! Love her!). It was so great to go somewhere and hang out with other couples that all have something in common. Adoption. We have all felt the ache and experienced the miracle of adoption around us or in our own family. Although I have to say that listening to the birth mothers tell their experiences was my favorite part. I don't think I have ever felt my emotions so close to the surface. The spirit was so strong.
We now have so many ideas to promote our adoption and have a new found hope. It is so exciting.
After we left the conference on Saturday, we went to the Salt Lake Temple to do a session. Neither one of us have ever been there, so we wanted to make sure we made it to a session while we were up north. When we walked in the worker was talking to us and strongly encouraged us to go do sealings. I wasn't sure if I wanted to at first, since it was my first time in the temple and I really wanted to do a session. But it was so neat to do sealings again. It has been a few years since we have done them. It was neat to hear the promises and blessings of an eternal family. It just helped my testimony of Eternal families and of the sealing power of the priesthood. I know we will be with our adopted children as an eternal family, even as if they were of our own flesh and blood. What an amazing blessing. The Salt Lake Temple is beautiful and now I am wanting to go back up and go to a session as soon as possible!! :)
After the temple we went to the Cheesecake Factory. Yum. It was so good! They had cheesecake a few times at the conference and I was craving a "good" piece of cheesecake! And it was so worth it! So good!!!
We ended up staying at Dustyn's mom's house and going to church with her on Sunday. Dustyn's brother and sis-in-law gave really good talks in church. I was happy we were able to be there! After we got home, we went to my parents for the evening to tell them about our awesome experiences. We finally made it home Sunday evening. It felt good to be home.
Yesterday, Dustyn and I went to the school and started working on the yearbook for 12 hours!!! It was a long day, but we did get a lot done. Finally at 8:00PM we went with Jace, Chet and my parents out to dinner for their anniversary. Which brings me to my next post . . .

A-MAA-ZING!
Seriously people. It has been one amazing day and it is not even over yet.
AND we get another day just like it tomorrow. How lucky are we?
The FSA conference has been awesome. We have gone to some great workshops. I have loved them. Seriously. The last one we went to today was about helping your birth mother heal. It was so good. My emotions are so close to the surface today. I can not even begin to explain my deep love and respect for birth parents. And the part that makes it even better, more often than not, they feel the same way about adoptive parents. How amazing is that? What a truly blessed and inspired program that adoption is. Adoption is truly the work of the Lord. We are so blessed to be apart of this amazing work. Simply amazing. And the spirit is amazing and so so strong.
Last night we were able to meet up with Arianne and Greg and Ron and Jessica. It was so good to go out with them and just hang out as friends!
We have met so many dear blogging friends at the conference. How awesome is it to go somewhere where you have never met anyone and all of a sudden have some seriously great friends.
Not only have we met Ron and Jessica, we have met Amanda and Sweet Cheeks, Kim and Karsten, Flavio and Kim, Leisha, and we went to a presentation by the The R House. (So good.) And many other new amazing people!
If you are at the conference and I haven't seen you, it's not too late! :) We'll see you tonight or tomorrow!

Frustrations!
So today we finally went to Verizon and gave our fancy phones back. We were so sick of dealing with it and decided we did not want to pay the extra money if we were going to have so many problems. We decide to get Chocolates. I really really like it. BUT they only had two colors. Black and a Aqua color. I of course chose black, cause Dustyn wanted the other one. Well it turns out that what they consider black was actually Navy Blue. I hate navy blue. But it's all good. Even though Dustyn's phone is so much cooler.
Then we get to our hotel. We bought our rooms on Priceline. I spent a little extra money to get a nice room since it was going to be our last weekend away. Well we get here and they have a lame double queen for us. Huh? Ummm... No. Apparently they gave our nice suite to someone else. Grrr... very frustrating. So we spent extra money for nothing. Finally they decided to give us another suite that is lame. Nothing like what we paid for. Tomorrow they said we could move into the room that we actually paid for. I am so annoyed. They can't refund our money or anything because we pre-paid through Priceline. They don't understand why I am upset. I mean if I would have known I was going to get a lame room, I would have paid for the cheap one in the first place. Instead of paying a lot for what we got and could have paid less for.
And it's dirty. Grr...
Birthdays!
So lately I have missed THREE birthdays. I think about them everyday and feel guilty that I never called or dropped a gift off to three of my super good friends. I decided I better at least post them before I go crazy!!!
First of all, one of my good friends Debbie had a birthday back in JULY! I know! It was on the 22nd. We usually like to go out for a birthday dinner, but I haven't even taken 2 minutes to talk to her. I am such a bad friend sometimes! Sad thing is - she is in my ward and I see her every week. No excuses, huh? But she truly is one of my dearest friends. I know she is always there when I need her or just want to talk to someone. She is an awesome listener and I love her to death. We met about 10 years ago at Hogi Yogi. Seriously, it has been that long ago! Crazy!
And my friend Sarah from Cedar City! I also met her at Hogi Yogi! She is so cute! I haven't seen her for a long time!

Happy Birthday Debbie. I hope it was a great day! I thought about you all day! We should go to lunch! My treat!
Hopefully she still reads my blog and hasn't given up on me completely! :) And sadly I don't have a picture of her. :(
Next, my niece, Bobbie! She is such an awesome person! I love her to death too! I worked with her at Hampton and we had a lot of good times. It seems like I never see her anymore. I do babysit right across the way. Again . . . I'm a slacker and not such a good friend. I love talking to her and just hanging out. Her birthday was on the 2nd of August. And she is getting married in about a month! Yay! I am so excited for her! But another sad thing . . . her Bridal shower is on Saturday. And of course you all know where I will be on Saturday. :( I am super excited to go to the FSA conference (in case I hadn't mentioned it) but totally bummed that I am missing her shower. I'm sorry Bobbie. I still love you lots!
Happy Birthday Bobb. I love you and think you are the greatest! We should go to lunch too! My treat! I am sorry I am missing your shower. :( Much Love!
And my friend Sarah from Cedar City! I also met her at Hogi Yogi! She is so cute! I haven't seen her for a long time!
Happy Birthday Sarah! I miss you!

More random thoughts be me.
~Tonight I was in charge of Personal Progress in Young Womens. It went pretty well. I have a hard time coming up with activities to pass off goals. I'm pretty much a crappy Personal Progress Leader. By the way - if anyone was wondering. . . Personal Progress is a program in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormons) for the Young Women (ages 12-18). It helps them learn valuable life lessons and keeps them thinking about their spirituality in hopes that when the time comes to make a decision they will have guidelines in place to help them make the best decision.
~It seems like there is always someone turning around right in front of our house. It kinda weird. I don't know if it is the widest part on the street or what. But it is right where everyone chooses to either turn around or park and look at their map (I guess). Weird.
~Verizon is irritating me. :P I am so ready to cancel our plan. So ready. We bought new phones. Dustyn's broke within a week. We called and they were going to send a replacement. We got the replacement and they had sent it for my number. My phone sucks and I don't really like it (it is SOOOO slow and freezes all the time), so I didn't really want another one. :) Anyways we call Verizon to see if they could change the phone to Dustyn's number and of course they said they couldn't. (Which turns out is a lie). So they tell us to send it back. But the phone is out of stock. Well they upgraded him to a Palm of some type. Well that is great. But now they are not sending it to him. They just want him to use another phone. No one will call us back. We asked to not be charged all the plan fees for Dustyn's phone for the month (yes, he has been without a phone for almost a month) and they thought they were SO nice and gave us a $10.00 credit. Oh. Thanks. Lame. It's all just a huge mess. If there were another good service provider around here, I'd switch. But of course, there's not.
~Seems like everyone around here is getting cold. Even me. Grrr.... I can't be sick yet. I mean I still have another week of summer left. Hello?
~I can not find anywhere in my living room to hang the picture that Dustyn got me for my birthday. I want it in my living room, but I don't know where. For now it's sitting on my mantle and might be there for some time.
~Our house has been so hot lately. Luckily tonight it has cooled off a lot. It did rain a little bit so that helped a lot. I don't know if I can handle another summer without central air or a swamp cooler. Guess I better start saving up.
~Does anyone watch Big Brother. I have been quite entertained in this season. I still haven't picked out a favorite to win. It changes weekly. But I think if the house was smart, they would get rid of Memphis this week, otherwise he has a good chance to win it. But Jessie does drive me crazy. He seriously only thinks about himself. And I am so tired of looking at his muscles. Blah. I wonder which it will be. Oh and Michelle. Was she mad or what? She for sure does not like the Leotard as much as Jenn from Season 8. Ha ha ha. Speaking of season 8. Michelle reminds me so much of Amber, except she cries a LOT less. Keesha reminds me of Danielle in a way. There are so many similar people in the two seasons. I am totally loving it. I loved season 8. I know, I am easily entertained.
~I am so excited for the adoption conference. Yay! There are going to be some great workshops. We are leaving Thursday afternoon. If anyone wants to hang out Thursday night, we'll be around. Email me and I will send you my phone number. Of course Dustyn won't have a phone by then. Grrr.....
~I finally found Breaking Dawn. It was the last one on the shelf at our local Wal-Mart. There weren't any last time we went. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about this book. I am excited to read it to see what I think. But I don't know when I will actually read it. I might save it for when school starts so I have something to read while I am subbing. I want to read a lot more books this year. I read quite a few last year, but I stopped after the Twilight series. I just couldn't find anything to capture my attention. I hope to keep my library a little more busy this year.
~I so need to scrub my kitchen floors. I want to do it, but I am stalling because our house is so hot. When I clean I get so so hot and sweat to death. But it has to be done. I just need to clean up the kitchen and the bathroom and my house will be clean for school to start. I wanted to get everything caught up so that I wouldn't get behind when I started working more.
~I can not believe school starts in two weeks from today. Dustyn starts next week. Of course we will be spending a lot of time at the school trying to get everything ready. We have 20 something computers to get set up and posters to hang. Plus a million other things! :) Time to get busy I guess.
~I so need to get to running/exercising. Usually I lose weight during the summer. I think I have gained 10 pounds in the past few weeks. (I had been around the same weight for 2 years, until now. :P) I don't even feel like I am eating too bad or too much, but apparently I am not doing something right. I just wanna lose 30 pounds! That would get me to my pre-marriage weight. Wouldn't that be awesome? :) Now I just need to do it. I have been getting some healthy recipes lately through a program that my Insurance Company does. If you wanna see them, I have been posting them on the Anything Cooking blog. I need to start riding my bike again!
~Well I think that is enough random thoughts for the moment. Have a fabulous evening. (Or afternoon for Heather.)

Acorns?
Arianne tried this and of course I had to too! She may be butter, but I eat acorns!
And well.... I think we are both better off than Dustyn.

Busy, busy, busy.
Well we are finally home for a few days. Seems like I have neglected everything for the last month. I love summer and all the fun things we do, but I always wonder how we ever have the time to work. I thought it would be a nice relaxing summer. Seems like we have been running and it's not over yet.
We spent the last week at my Mother-In-Law's house. It was good to be there and to visit. We accomplished a big project, so that was nice too! It was a busy week. And an exhausting one! I have a few pictures, but my camera died and I didn't bring the charger, so I didn't get too many. But I will post them later.
But on Friday we are going to the Families Supporting Adoption National Conference. I am SO excited! I am totally counting down the days! What an awesome opportunity! I am excited to see and meet all my favorite adoption bloggers! Isn't adoption amazing?
So that is all for now, I just wanted to let you know that I am still alive and busy! :)
