All About Layers- Day 3 "Congrats Owls"

Hi DeNami friends,

This week I created a card for you with a lot of layers. To create this card I used stitched scallop rectangle and rectangle dies in different sizes and for a bit of color I blended red ink on the largest and the third largest layer and sprinkled it with water to get the ink to react and lift to create this nice splatter effect.

On the smallest rectangle I stamped the three little owls standing around a cupcake and colored them in with alcohol markers. For a bit more interest I also used a glitter pen and applied some glitter on the cupcake and the little party hats.
After adhering the different layers together, I also wanted to include a sentiment. I used another die to cut the sentiment "congrats" from gold mirror card stock and adhered it to the second smallest layer.
To finish off the card I also adhered some gold sequins using tiny glue dots. I really prefer using glue dots over liquid glue because 1) I don't create a huge mess (which I usually do) and 2) I can remove them and stick them to another place when I am not satisfied with the look.

I hope you liked the card that I made this week! Have fun crafting!

All About Layers- Day 1 "Happy Mother's Day"

Hello, DeNami Design Friends!

This week our DT projects are all about layers. I don’t typically use a lot of layers on my cards, so this was a fun challenge for me. Here’s my creation:

Using die-cut shapes and tags is an easy way to add layers to your projects. I die-cut a scalloped rectangle from yellow cardstock and adhered it to a white card base. I die-cut a stitched rectangle from lavender cardstock, stamped it with polka dots using VersaMark ink, and adhered it at an angle on top of the scalloped rectangle. I die-cut a tag from white cardstock, stamped the NEW CL-J157 Flower Filigree Trio onto it, colored the image with markers, punched two holes in the top, and tied on a baker’s twine bow. I die-cut a banner from white cardstock, stamped the sentiment onto it, and adhered it to the bottom of the tag. I adhered the tag to the card with foam tape and finished things off with some sparkle from a glitter pen.

Here’s a closer look:

I hope you like my card for today!!!

Thanks so much for visiting!

Day 4 of DeNami's Sneak Peek Week- Friends Forever

Hi Friends,

Are you all enjoying the sneak peeks? I would love to hear! I have been cooking up some cute cards!

I have a brand new set to share with you called, Forever Friends. They are truly adorable. You will see what I was able to do with them.

The colors are so happy!
You can see more dimension here. There are at least 5 layers to the purple card.

I even cut out the spaces in the shutters.

I folded the shutters to create even more dimension.

Here you can see the dimension a little better.

Supplies needed:
PC48 Pink Cardstock
PC49 Lavender Cardstock
PC47 Celery Cardstock
PC21 White Cardstock
CR01 Friends Forever Clear Stamp Set (available January 5, 2015)
CL-BC004 Basic Borders (I used on the "siding" of the house
CL-BD003 Simply Scallops (I used for the roof)
M79 Elegant Square Frame
M80 Elegant Oval Frame
M81 Ornate Flourish
PF23 Whimsical Wedding (I used the dove for the window)
P97 Window with Shutters
Versafine Onyx Black
VersaMagic Pixie Dust Pink
VersaMagic Cloud White
VersaMagic Aloe Vera
Tombow Markers
Quickie Glue Pen
SS09 Lime Sherbet Sparkletts Glitter
SS16 Citrone Sparkletts Glitter

For the pink card, Stamp the decorative oval frame using Versafine Black Onyx. Cut out with cutting knife and then stamp the background using Versamagic Cloud White using the scroll background. Stamp several of the girl stamp and cut out the pieces you want to give dimension. Use mounting tape.
Stamp one on the backdrop and then start layering. I color in after I do all the layering so as to prevent unnecessary coloring.

Here's a close up to see the dimension.
For the green card, stamp decorative square on the green panel, then cut out center with cutting knife.
Stamp the decorative square on scratch sheet of paper and mask the square and stamp the scroll in VersaMagic  Aloe Vera, to create a background.

Stamp the girl on the white background and on an extra white cardstock sheet. using Versafine Onyx Black.
Cut them out and then cut out pieces you would like to make dimensional, as shown below.

You can do this technique with so many other DeNami stamps. This collection will classic for years to come.
