Too Kind

Ooh! I am loving this week's ColourQ! Except, I didn't bring any bunny stamps with me on this trip. I seldom look at an inspiration photo and just pull colors from it, but I had to this time (by had to, I mean because I couldn't resist these fun colors and I didn't have any bunnies, even though I begged hubby to take a quick trip to the craft store), and I'm loving the outcome. I love the simplicity of the inspiration and the simplicity of the card.

Want DEEtails?

I started with a Crumb Cake card and wrapped some Baja Breeze Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon around it. Then I stamped the sweet frame from SU!'s Baby Blossoms onto some Pink Pirouette card stock. Next I stamped my sentiment, from SU!'s Whimsical Words and stamped the frame around it. This time I cut out just the center of the frame. I pulled out some cute SU! buttons, which I tied up with some Linen Thread and adhered them to my frame with glue dots. Easy Peasy! And so cute!

Pink Ink

I am so loving monochromatic looks right now! I was in Target the other day and saw some adorable accessories by Liberty of London that inspired me to make this card. Here's the Clean & Simple sketch that inspired this layout.

Here are the DEEtails:

1. I started out by randomly stamping flowers in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock from various sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Itty Bitty Buds, and Wings of Friendship.

2. I used various shades of pink Stampin' Write markers to color in my flowers: Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Pixie Pink, and Pink Passion.

3. I added a Regal Rose card stock mat, then added a piece of Melon Mambo Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon.

4. Then I created a Scallop Edge rectangle with Melon Mambo card stock and stamped the sentiment from my Whimsical Words set onto Whisper White card stock trimmed to size. I recently was asked how to make the Scallop Edge rectangle, so I've posted some DEErections. You can click here or click on the DEEsign Tools button at the bottom of my blog.

5. Finally, I mounted everything onto a Melon Mambo card. Hope you like it!

Too Kind

I love a unique color palette and I am loving this one!

Here's my inspiration from Crate and Barrel. Isn't this chair just gorgeous? And the wall behind it is so neat!

DEEtails:

1. I absolutely love the colors of this chair! I chose So Saffron and Bermuda Bay card stock for my flowers. I used my 1/2", 3/4", 1", and 1 1/4" circle punches to create layers for my flowers, which I distressed at the edges and punched with brads from my stash.

2. I wrapped my Naturals White mat with some gray ribbon from my stash, then adhered my flowers in a cluster.

3. I used my bird punch to create the leaves using Going Gray card stock. I tucked them in behind my flowers.

4. I used my Scallop Trim punch and corner to create a small So Saffron border for my sentiment from my Whimsical Words set, stamped in Taken with Teal on Naturals White card stock.

5. I layered my Naturals White mat onto a Bermuda Bay mat on a So Saffron Card.

Happiness Always

Here's another one of my DEEsigns:

I love my inspiration for this card! I wish my living room could look like this:

I really love the framed art, which is what I really looked to for the inspiration for my card:

Here are the DEEtails:

1. I stamped the image from my Great Friend set using VersaMark on Crushed Curry card stock. I embossed and cut each image out.

2. I stamped the image on Basic Gray card stock as well and stamped a setiment from my Whimsical Words set.

3. I adhered all of my images onto a Naturals White square mat, which I layered onto a Basic Gray mat, then trimmed the edges.

4. I tied a bow with a piece of Basic Gray ribbon from the retired District Ribbon Originals set. I liked the way the striped ribbon echoed the look of the gray couch.

5. I love the way everything looks on a Sahara Sand card.

Hope you like it!

Happiness Always

My mom bought me some beautiful ribbon yesterday and I just had to use it right away! Here it is in my DEEsign for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge:

Here's the sketch:

And the DEEtails:

1. I chose the colors for this card based on the pretty ribbon. I'm using Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray, and Going Gray. I know the card looks more blue, but I promise, it's a teal color!

2. I stamped the bird cage image from my Happy Moments set in Basic Gray ink and cut it out. I also stamped a sentiment from my Whimsical Words set to go with the birdcage.

3. Then I created a layered mat with my three colors and adhered my images to it using dimensionals.

4. I also created a large mat with the grays for the card and tied my pretty ribbon onto it. I deviated a bit from the sketch here. I liked the ribbon so much and wanted to show it off a bit more, so I tied a bow on the side. Then I adhered the mat to the card.

5. I adhered my mat and images on top of the bow and there you have it!
