Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 308

So I'm a little late for this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge... Oops! But the color combo was just too fun not to play along...

Aren't these cupcakes just divine?! And such a perfect color palette for playing along with images from A Day for Daisies. I absolutely love ADFD and really wish they would make rubber stamps!

The DEEtails:

My adorable image from ADFD is Me and My Dragon. Isn't it the cutest thing? I watercolored the dragon's body and wings using Coastal Cabana Ink and a wet brush and then colored in the rest with Stampin' Write Markers and Stampin' Blendabilities once he had dried. I had a hard time creating this card because I really just wanted to pop him in a little frame and keep him on my desk :) But, I finally decided to put him on a card... I layered a few pretty patterned papers from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line and added the sentiment stamped and embossed on Vellum paper. A few gumdrops finishes things off. Hope you like it, although I'm still wishing he was in a little frame on my desk...

Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe Cardstock, Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Paper Pad (American Crafts), Neenah Solar White 80# Cardstock, White Vellum Cardstock
Stamps: Friendly Phrases, Me and My Dragon (A Day for Daisies)
Ink: Stampin' Blendabilities: Daffodil Delight; Stampin' Write Markers: Blush Blossom, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe; VersaMark
Embellishments: Black Stampin' Emboss Powder, Sparkly Teal Gumdrops (Your Next Stamp)
Tools: heat tool, paint brush

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 7

Hey there! Are you ready for another Double Dare Challenge!? Before I start, let me share the exciting news about Naki's card last week... It was a CAS Favorite at Split Coast Stampers! Hooray for Naki! :) Now on to this week's picks...

Naki picked the Twitterpated DSP.

My pick was to use a button.

Here's my card for this week's challenge:

Here are the DEEtails:

I love love love this neat little pattern from the Twitterpated DSP. I decided to use it in the background of my card and punched the Blossom on a piece of Island Indigo card stock. I adhered it to my card with some Stampin' Dimensionals and added a Boho Blossom and Real Red button. I attached the sentiment from Friendly Phrases on some Whisper White card stock, then added some layers along the edge of the card - Whisper White punched with with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and Cherry Cobble punched with the Scallop Edge Border, backed with a strip of Island Indigo.

Now go visit Naki and see what she came up with. Then get out some Twitterpated DSP and buttons and play along! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

First, let me point out the great Blog Hop Badge and Buttons that the fabulous Nicole Watt has created for us! Nicole used the new In Color, Summer Starfruit, along with DSP and embellishments from the new Keep in Touch Digital Content CD (item 127189), which is a hostess item that can be purcahsed for only $8 in Hostess Dollars! So fun, right?!

Okay, now for my project...

I just got my new goodies the other day and last night was the first time that I had the opportunity to play! I only had enough time to whip up a quick card, but I can't wait to create some more! My card today reminds me a little bit of a little county picnic. Love it!

Here are the DEEtails:
I started with some Comfort Cafe DSP, which I matted with some Basic Gray card stock and adhered to my Primrose Petals card. Then I used the Delicate Doilies die to create a doily in Basic Gray and a smaller one in Primrose Petals. I layered them on my card and stamped the sentiment from Friendly Phrases in Very Vanilla and tied on some Stitched Satin Ribbon in Primrose Petals. I added an Elegant Butterfly in Summer Starfruit and a little stamp created with the Lovely Little Labels set and the Little Labels Punch.

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

Hello dear friends! Today I'm sharing my card for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge. This challenge is super easy - just add any red!

Here are the DEEtails for my card:

I started with a simple Crumb Cake card stock and added some ribbon - Cherry Cobbler Scallop Polka Dot ribbon, Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon, and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon. I pleated some of the ribbon for some added texture and interest. Then I die cut a tag from the Lots of Tags die cuts from some Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the cute sentiment from SU!'s Friendly Phrases in Early Espresso. I attached a very vanilla button tied with some Linen Thread for the final touch.

I used some fun Stampin' Up! supplies here, but feel free to use your favorite supplies to create your card or project for the challenge. Remember you have two weeks for this challenge so have fun crafting!

Happy Birthday Rebecca!

Today is my sweet friend, Rebecca's birthday! Happy birthday dear! :)

I wanted to try out a fun chevron pattern for my dear friend, so I pulled out some DSP in Basic Gray, Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade. I pieced together some patterned paper rhombus shapes. It's not perfect, but I'm pretty pleased with my first attempt. Then I rolled a flower using some Melon Mambo Striped Grosgrain ribbon (here's a tutorial on how to make these). I tucked some Lucky Limeade Ruffled ribbon as leaves. Then I layered some shapes die cut with the Lots of Tags die in Basic Gray and Melon Mambo, then added the sentiment from SU!'s Friendly Phrases using some Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thanks for peeking in today! Don't forget to play along with my I {Heart} Ribbon Challenge! You have a few more days to link up your card with Grosgrain Ribbon!

Happy Day

Happy Halloween Friends! Today I have a not-so-Halloween card for you... In fact, it's rather spring-ish! :)

This is a card that I made for the previous challenge over at Jay Gee's Nook, but never had time to post! I'm way late now, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway. I loved the pretty little inspiration. :)

DEEtails:

I decided to line up some patterned paper, kind of like the photo of damask gift pouches (center right) using Shades of Spring (pink), DSP Prints in Certainly Celery (green), and Domestic Goddess (blue and yellow) DSP. I layered it over a piece of Pool Party card stock, punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I adhered it all to my Blushing Bride card. Then I added a sweet sentiment from SU's Friendly Phrases, stamped on a paper pierced PTI Fillable Frames die. Then I tucked in some leaves, from the Bird punch and a sweet pink flower from my stash.

For My Friend

The little cupcakes for this week's Cupcake Inspirations challenge are so sweet! They inspired me to make today's card, using this neat color palette.

Here are the DEEtails:

I started with a piece of Designer Series Paper Patterns in Chocolate Chip, which I mounted on some card stock. Then I stamped my flower, using SU!'s Build a Blossom, with Elegant Eggplant ink on Perfect Plum card stock. I assembled my flower and adhered it to my card, tucking in some Pretty in Pink card stock, stamped with the sentiment from SU!'s Friendly Phrases. Then I tied a pretty bow using some green satin ribbon from my stash, that matches nicely with my Wild Wasabi card.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

New Catalog Pals Hop!

Welcome to the July Pals Hop! This month, we're featuring fantastic new goodies from the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog! Enjoy the hop and get some creative ideas for using new stamps and accessories from the amazing creations that the Pals have come up with.

Thanks for being patient with me this morning. We had a terrible storm yesterday and our internet lines were down, so I had some difficulty posting on time! But I'm here now! You've likely hopped over from Patti MacLeith from Papercrafts by Patti. I'm stop number 10 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for paper crafted creations from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track!

Today I'm sharing some of the fabulous new ribbon from the new Idea Book and Catalog. There are so many wonderful choices and I'm here to share a few of my favorites.

DEEsign 1: Denim Jean & Scallop Dots Ribbons

DEEtails: I love a little denim, don't you? I was so excited to see this Denim Jean ribbon ribbon in the new catalog! I paired the blue Denim Jean ribbon with some Pretty in Pink Scallop Dots Ribbon and wrapped it around some Melon Mambo card stock that had been stamped with the new Hello Doily stamp (which I LOVE, by the way!) Then I added some designer buttons, threaded with some white Twine and a tag stamp with the sentiment from Kindness Matters. Fun and cute!

DEEsign 2: Striped Grosgrain, Satin, and Ruffled Ribbons

DEEtails: I wanted to make a soft card, so I layered lots of lovely ribbon on some Wisteria Wonder card stock. For this card, I used some Basic Gray Striped Grosgrain, Basic Gray Satin, and Wisteria Wonder Ruffle Ribbon. I was excited to find purple ribbon choices this time around, since these hues are hard to come by. I added a sweet flower from Array of Sunshine (one of the Hostess sets) stamped in Wisteria Wonder on some Naturals White card stock and tucked in a sentiment from Friendly Phrases (my new favorite sentiment set!).

DEEsign 3: Taffeta and Ruffled Ribbons

DEEtails: For a simple look, I added a band of Crumb Cake card stock, stamped with the sentiment from Precious Butterflies (a hostess sets), and wrapped some Soft Suede ribbon around it. I am loving the new Soft Suede ribbons! Then I stamped a flower from Posy Punch (another hostess set) in Rich Razzleberry and tucked under a couple pieces of Lucky Limeade ribbon as leaves. I attached my flower with some Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thanks again for being patient with me today! I hope you enjoy my creations! :)
