Central IL: Rottweiler in High Kill Shelter

My name is Madison, and I can’t think of one single thing that I did “wrong” except get older. Well, I’m also deaf, but I do quite well using my other senses. Sadly, I wound up at a high-kill animal control facility, and I understand that being both deaf and 8-9 years old will make it extremely difficult for me to find a home here.

Maybe YOU will help me? I think if I go to a rescue organization that “specializes” in either Rottweilers or deaf dogs, I will stand a much better chance of finding my forever home. (See my photos and more information below.)

I enjoy going for walks, or just sitting outdoors with one of my new human friends for a nice back massage. I’m laid-back, well-mannered, and I love people. Surely I deserve to spend my Golden Years in a real home … and YOU just might be my only chance.

Contact my human friend, Carol Rodgers, if you are willing to take me into your rescue … carolrodgers-apl@att.net. She will put you directly in touch with the Kennel Supervisor here at AC, and I have friends who will assist with my transport.

Thank you for your consideration.
Madison

Chicago, IL: American Bulldog Seeks a Home

Dear Friends of Petraits,

Dylan (Petraits attached) is an extremely handsome, playful, fun, and energetic, two-year-old, 65-pound, male, deaf American Bulldog looking for a loving guardian.

Dylan is a smart boy with a great personality who pays close attention to his human companions and has learned sign language. He knows the commands sit, come, down, and will automatically sit if he see you have a treat for him. He really forms a strong bond with his people. He is also full of energy like a playful and fun two-year-old puppy.

Dylan is looking for a loving human to take him under their wing to continue his training and boost his confidence. He loves people and is full of kisses and tail wags. He also loves to hang out in a dog bed to play with his toys and chew his bones. Even though he can’t hear a squeaky toy, he still loves the vibrations they make in his mouth.

Dylan loves to play rough and tumble with other dogs his own size. Being deaf, he can’t hear other dogs’ warning growls, so he’s best with an equally playful companion. He may eventually be fine with dog-loving cats. He is great in the car, good on walks, and can easily run a couple miles with a human running buddy.

Dylan is healthy, neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on preventative. To meet and possibly foster or adopt Dylan, please contact info@secondhandsnoots.org for an adoption application. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Secondhand Snoots.

Chicago, IL: Shar Pei Needs a Home

 Dear Friends of Petraits,

Buddy (Petraits attached) is a very sweet, gentle and shy, ten-year-old, 45-pound, male, Shar Pei looking for a loving home.

Buddy was at Chicago Animal Care and Control huddled and afraid in the back of his cage when We Luv Paws Chinese Shar Pei came to his rescue.

Buddy was covered with old bite wounds. But he is a live and let live kind of guy, a gentle soul who gets along just fine with other dogs. He doesn’t appear to know formal commands, but takes treats gently from your fingers.

Buddy is perfectly housebroken, crate-trained, neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on preventative. He is deaf due to un-treated ear infections throughout his life. He’s had a recent dental and has very few teeth left.

Buddy’s adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued dogs of We Luv Paws. To meet and possibly adopt Buddy, please contact his foster mom Debbie at kruegerd55@gmail.com or 847-362-3056. Because he’s shy and deaf and easily startled, he’s best in a home with adults.

DeKalb, IL: Mutt Needs a Foster or Home

Contact info: Susan at 815-758-3955 or susan@dalrescueillinois.net

BOO NEEDS HELP!

Boo came into rescue last October, from a home in which she was named "Misery." And miserable she was.

She had spent the first three years of her life confined to a crate most of the time. The owner had gotten her as a puppy and been told that she was part Dalmatian. She is nearly all white, with spotted ears.

A DNA analysis revealed that there is no discernible Dal in her at all. She is really a Heinz 57 terrier mix. Three "minor" breeds were listed: AmStaff, Bull Terrier, and Westie.

We are now losing the foster home where Boo has been all these months. Our chances of placing her in a home are slim to none. We need some help. All our foster homes are full.

Boo is about three years old. She is a pretty girl, with blue eyes, and a coat longer than a Dal's. She is also deaf. All her vet work has been done. She has been spayed and all vaccinations are up to date. She has a good temperament.

Boo deserves a chance to have a real family and a good life. Please let me know if you can help! Thank you!
