Window Box

Hello! Today’s card was inspired by the current challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs, Wedding/Anniversary.
My card features Window A. I started by cutting the background from the largest of the Classic Coved Rectangle Silver Stackers. I wanted a subtle pattern without a lot of color so I embossed the coved rectangle with the stunning Diamonds & Starburst XL Embossing Plate. In the corners, I tucked in lacy diecuts from the Lace Corner Deco F set to add a bit of elegant flair.
To create the window box, I cut a Square Scalloped Stacker Nesting Die. I folded the top portion down to give my “box” scalloped “trim.” I then folded in the edges and bottom to create a three-dimensional box.
The flowers filling my box are Darling Daisies, Miniature Roses, Medium Rose, and Build a Flower #1.
The image is stamped on the Classic Oval Silver Stacker, layered atop the Scalloped Oval Stacker Nesting Die. Adorned with a Darling Daisy and Pine Branch
There is still time to enter this weeks challenge for your chance at a $20 shopping spree and the Big Shot!! Details Here!

lots of fun!

Did you enjoy the holidays?! For the first time in 3 years, I took a week off work!! I am definitely enjoying a much needed break!

I took a little time to play with the Life Preservers May Alternate kit featuring the Sassafras Lass Nerdy Bird line.
A while back, I found this watering can pattern on Splitcoaststampers.com. Isn’t it darling?! Perfect for these fun bright papers!!

Using my Cricut and Walk in my Garden cartridge, I cut flowers and layered them for dimension. I used lots of stickles, Glossy Accents, and pop dots to give the flowers a little extra texture and dimension!

Non kit items: Stampin’ Up marker; eyelet, tag, stickers, and jute , Stickles, Glossy Accents, Shimmerz paint, floral wire

I have also been playing with my June Featured Kit from Life Preservers. It is a wonderful blend of old and new, elegant and fun featuring papers from Scribble Scrabble and 7Gypsies.

The yellow paper is so soft and pretty, I knew right away I need to use it for something elegant. What better what than to highlight these wedding photos of my parents.

The leaves and flowers were cut using the Storybook and Walk in my Garden cartridges with my Cricut.

Non kit items: Creative Charms Vintage Brads; Creative Charms Butterflies; Creative Charms Organza flower; Kaiser pearls; Ranger distress ink; Pink Paislee Artisian Elements; Glimmer Mist; border punches (EK Success, Martha Stewart); floral pearls

As soon as I saw this background paper, I knew it would be perfect for this old (ancient, my kids would say! LOL!!) photo of my siblings and myself. I want to add the date on the left side yet, but I need to double check the correct date with my mom…I am guessing ‘78.

I used lots of pop dots for dimension.

Non kit items: Ranger Distress Ink; Jenny Bowlin button; Kaiser wood flourish; MME journaling cards and title; Maya Road pin; ribbon

Hopping Right Along!!!

Wohoo!! Spring is finally here!

The design team at ScrapFit are springing into action with a fun filled blog hop. Grab your flip flops. Careful for the puddles…myself, I can't resist stepping in a few! Enjoy the scrumptious eye candy and beautiful prizes blossoming along the way! Don’t forget your basket (pencil and paper) for collecting goodies along the path!

Collecting goodies along the way?! Each designer has posted an element to add to your layout. Create a layout using all the required elements. Link up at ScrapFit for a chance at the Grand Prize!!

My required element: Add some sparkling sunshine…bling, stickles, or glitter…something that shines!

I opted for a project rather than a layout.

If you arrived here from Danielle’s blog, you are on the right path. If not, go to ScrapFit to get started. The next stop…Katie.

Now, how about a treat for stopping by. Leave a comment for a chance to win a couple of my handmade cards.

Enjoy the journey, and celebrate the day!
