Best Days

Hello!  Today I am sharing a layout I had published in the September Issue of PaperHaus Magazine using their Sept sketch.
I created the lacy background by piecing together pieces of the Tiffany Border. The Mega Tea Party Doily add the perfect amount of elegance, with an Exotic Butterfly #2 resting on the edge. Mini Pearl Rectangle Reflections Boutique creates the ideal size matte for photos. I used the smallest of the Scalloped French Flair to back my title label. The Pennant Die finishes off the look. Darling Daisies are scattered about.
Celtic Heart and a Scalloped Window Stacker adorn the journaling block topped with a sticker backed with Scalloped Coved Rectangle Stacker. Small Leaves #2 and the Mini Fanciful Flourish make the finishing touch.

Homeward Bound

Hello! I’m here today to share another fun way to use the Cheery Lynn Designs frame dies on a 12x12 layout.

The Fathers Day Homeward Bound Frame Die perfectly compliments the background in the photo of my son.

I cut the top half of the die (goose/sun portion) from gold pattern paper, then trimmed the edges by hand to place at the top of my photo.  I cut the bottom half of the die (reeds/cattails portion) three times from green pattern paper, giving me three pieces to create the border at the bottom of the photo.
I colored in the cattails with a marker, then added some Distress Stickles to give them a bit of texture. I’ve added clusters of Small Leaves #2, Pine Branches, and Pair of Ferns here and there, adding a couple of the smaller Darling Daisies for color.
The Celtic Heart is the ideal place to house my title. To the left of the photo, I added a Circle Lace Mega Reflections Boutique Doily. The blue layer and brown photo matte were cut using the Mini Pearl Rectangle Reflections Mega Die set.

Red, White, and Blue

Hello! Today’s 12x12 layout is inspired by this weeks challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs, Red White and Blue.
I started by creating a border around my background paper with Lace Light Deco Border. Next, I layered the Nautical Wheeler Doily, Mega Tea Party Doily, and the center of the Polynesian Sails Oval Doily. To matte my photo, I chose to stagger to cuts from the middle size French Flair Classic Silver Stacker. Along the bottom you see the Flower Chain Border resting atop the Border Carnivale.
To create the banner, I used half of the center cut of Polynesian Sails Oval for each pennant.

I really wanted to add a flag to my little cluster but didn’t have one. What does a crafty person do when they can find what they are looking for? Create their own! For the red piece, I cut the smallest of the Scalloped Coved Rectangle Small Stacker Nesting Dies. I handstiched some stripes and created French knots for the stars. Once complete, I wrapped the coved edge around a toothpick for the pole. It’s not politically correct but it is original! J The flower was created using the Medium Rose. Foilage is from the Olive Branch, Flourish Leaf Strip, and Small Leaves #2.

With Love

Hello!  I'm back again, stepping outside the comfort zone with my dies from Cheery Lynn Designs…You know how I adore my dies and how inspired I am to see what else I can create!
The bottom layer is created with the largest of the Mini Pearl Rectangle Mega Doily Reflections Die set. I just love how versatile the Reflections dies are! Next is the dainty Queen Anne’s Lace border atop the beautiful Border Carnivale. I hand stitched the heart, and then added the Dainty Dutch Deco Frame to back the photo. Under the photo is a strip outlined by the stunning Lace Light Deco Border. Tucked in on the right is the Mega Tea Party Doily.
I created my flower by cutting one layer of Flower Stacker #5 from cardboard, then dry brushed the edges with Distress Paint. I added the little lace doily from the center of the Dainty Dutch Deco Frame underneath the flower along with some pieces of the Fanciful Flourish and foliage from Olive Branches, Stacker Flower #1 leaf, and Large Leaves #2.
Using the mini Exotic Butterfly set, I cut three layers of butterfly from velum. (thanks to my good friend Rhonda for the fun tip!) She rests atop a swirl from the Fanciful Flourish, and a piece of Olive Branches
Banners have been such a fun trend. The Pennant Die is the perfect size for both layouts and cards! Notice the detail on the Pennant?! So Cute!!  I fussy cut the glitter and birds from pattern paper to adorn the top, and added a Miniature Rose to finish it off!

Things with Wings

Hello! Jodi here today with a card inspired by this weeks challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs, Things with Wings.

The base card was created by layering the largest Scalloped Square Nesting Die and Classic Square Silver Stacker. The second set of layers being the the third size from the Scalloped French Flair Nesting Die and the Classic French Flair Silver Stacker. Have you seen all the new corner dies? They have endless possibilities! I added a corner behind the center of each peak on the French Flair to add a bit of lacy elegance to the card, Lace Corner Deco C.  The third layer was cut from the second smallest dies from Scalloped Circle Stackers Nesting Die and Classic Circle Silver Stacker dies.

I adhered each set of layers with foam adhesive giving the card dimension, and emphasizing the butterfly.

Here is a close up of the Small Lace Butterfly. Isn’t she just gorgeous! She has so many amazing details! I was going to add some flowers and foliage by I really wanted her to stand out alone, showing off her beauty!

Gift Card Holder

Hello!  I'm  here today with a fun gift card holder I created for Cheery Lynn Designs.

My card is based around the Italian Flourish Doily Angel Wing
I determined the size of the card by cutting the base the width of my angle wing, length = 11 inches long.
To shape the end of the card, I placed the  scallop of the angel wing to the tip of the cardstock, cutting the die ...don't fold or score yet!  TIP:  It helps to tape the die in place preventing it from shifting and altering your cut.  I like to use blue painters tape as the adhesive is more forgiving on your paper and your die. Also, once removed from the paper and die, just attach it to you machine and you can use it again for your next cut!
Once cut, I trimmed ¼ inch from each edge up to the diecut to achieve more of a rounded top. I proceeded to score the card at the edge of the cut, fold the rest of the card in half and score again.

Time to decorate. On the outside, I folded the Italian Flourish Doily in half decorating both front and back. I also added an Exotic Butterfly Mini.

On the inside layers of the Stackers Nesting Die Square-Scalloped and Silver Stacker Square-Classic hold my sentiment.
To create the pocket, I cut my piece 2 ½ x 3 ½. Using a Scallop Window Stacker, I cut a notch into the piece. Add adhesive only around the outer edges of three sides of the piece and attach to create the pocket.

to "Die"-cut for!

Hello! I’m here today bringing you another layout full of goodies using my dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I started by using the sketch for the November challenge at My Minds Eye. I cut the Anastasia Border in brown to dress up the edges of the layout and add a bit of femininity. I tucked the Mega Tea Party doily die under as my bottom layer. Isn’t that doily just beautiful! I just received the die this week and I couldn't wait to put it to work. I have to tell you, it cuts absolutely beautifully as well!

Remember: any photo can be enlarged for a closer view by clicking on the photo

I adhered the tag with dimension foam.  Under the tag, I slipped in the Fanciful Flourish and some leaves from the Small Leaves #2 set. Resting on top, ready to take flight is a butterfly from the Small Exotic Butterfly #2 set.

Notice the small doily layered on the bottom? It is the center from the Polynesian Sails Oval. I created a flower and cut leaves from the Frangipani with Leaves set. I slipped in the top portion of a fern from Pair of Ferns set. I also tucked in a couple more leaves from the Small Leaves #2 set. Resting atop is a butterfly from the Exotic Butterfly Mini set.

The larger flower is two layers cut from Stacker Flower #5.   I staggered the layers as I adhered them.  After inserting a second flower and some leaves from the Frangipani with Leaves set,  I tucked in some leaves cut from the Stacker Flowers #1 Leaf and Small Leaves #2 set. Again I also slipped in a Fanciful Flourish and a fern from the Pair of Ferns set. At the bottom of the photo you get a nice view of the die from Border Carnivale. It creates such a beautiful lace. Definitely one of my favorites!

Tutorial and My Minds Eye

I created this card using the October sketch from My Minds Eye! Looove their products and thought I would play along with this months card challenge using a mix of products from the Lime Twist and Stella & Rose lines.

I used dies from Cheery Lynn Designs to create the background, blue border, leaves, and butterfly.
Dies used:

Thank you for the wonderful comments on my glass etching.  I created a tutorial for you so you can create your own etching to enjoy!

I cut the die from a piece of scrap vinyl…which I must say it cut beautifully!! I applied the cut vinyl to transfer tape, then very carefully removed the backing….you have to go slow with all the flourishes!

I centered my diecut on the glass and used a flat tool to make sure I got the vinyl down tight with no air bubbles. You don’t want the etching cream to leak under any areas.

Remove the transfer tape and apply the etching cream (I used Armour Etch). Read the instructions and wait the allotted time letting the etching cream work. Rinse off the cream. Remove the vinyl diecut. Admire your handy work!!

Precious Memories

I’m here today with another Nuts About Sketches reveal! #173
I was tickled that my son and his girlfriend would pose for a photo! The photo turned out great and I new right away that I wanted to do something with a romantic feel. My July kit from My Creative Scrapbook contained just the perfect papers from Websters Pages and My Minds eye, as well as gorgeous Prima embellishments, combined with the gorgeous dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and I was all set!

Here is a close up showing the inticate detail of the English Tea Doily die.  Isn't that just the sweetest dainty touch layered in there! Aren't those flourishes just the perfect added detail?  I fussy cut the gazebo as well as some flowers from the Websters Pages papers.  I layered the flowers here and there attaching some with pop dots for dimension.

I just looove the Exotic Butterflie dies!! I adhered both butterflies with pop dots for a bit more dimension.

I also fussy cut the journaling block and adhered with pop dots.
