Round & Round in Circles

The challenge this week at Phindy's Friday Challenge Blog is ROUND & ROUND so we want to see lots of circles.

This was a great challenge for me because I got to use up some scraps and you all know how many bits and pieces we manage to accumulate so it is always great when we can reduce the pile.

You don't have to use a Phindy image in your project but if you do, please follow the instructions on the sidebar and enter your card twice. If you don't have any Phindy images, run right over to the store and pick a few up.

We will choose one random winner who will receive a $5 gift certificate to Phindy's store. The Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week. The creator will also receive a $5 gift certificate to Phindy's store and will be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

This is a scheduled post because I am just finishing up a week's vacation in Aruba. I hope when I return I can tell you all about the great sunshine we had. I know we will have a good time because are visiting neighbours who have a house there and they are lovely people.  She is a very good cook so I hope I don't come home with added pounds.

Child's Birthday

Welcome to Friday and a new challenge at Phindy's Friday Challenge Blog. This week we want you to make a BIRTHDAY CARD FOR A CHILD. Most of us need birthday cards on hand especially if we have children or grandchildren so here is an opportunity to add to your pile.

You don't have to use a Phindy image in your project but if you do, please follow the instructions on the sidebar and enter your card twice. If you don't have any Phindy images, run right over to the store and pick a few up. There are a wide variety of images that would be suitable for a child's birthday at various ages from toddlers to teens. Just check out the Wee Babbies, Cute Kids and the Dads and Teens sections.

We will choose one random winner who will receive a $5 gift certificate to Phindy's store. The Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week. The creator will also receive a $5 gift certificate to Phindy's store and will be in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot.

The Design Team have made some wonderful cards for your inspiration this week and Ann has even made two for you.

Vintage Children

It is Saturday again and that means another challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we want to see VINTAGE CHILDREN. That means we want you to make a vintage, shabby chic or primitive card or other paper-crafted project featuring vintage images or stamps of children.

I have chosen to use a digital stamp this week that came from Whoopsie Daisy. All the images are hand drawn in a very vintage style.

Opposite Colours

This week our challenge to you at Phindy's Place is to use COLOURS THAT ARE OPPOSITE ON THE COLOUR WHEEL. When I searched for Colour Wheel, I found a number of graphics and all of them showed red across from green so that is what I decided to work with. It is perfect for this little cutie on his first day at school.

This is another scheduled post as I am still in England. My husband came home after one week but since I am retired I decided to stay on for another week. If everything went according to plan, yesterday my friend and I went to Buckingham Palace and then out to tea. We were going to meet up with one of her friends and Anne Ray, who is Phindy's Design Team Leader. I will provide details when I return.

Pretty Pastels

Summer has really landed where I live and it is hot, hot, hot - with lots of humidity thrown in - so it is now very uncomfortable. I think I want to live in a more moderate climate where the weather stays roughly at 72 all year, where there is no snow, little rain and no humidity. I wonder where that is and if I can convince my husband to move - hmmm.

The challenge this week at Phindy's Place should cool things off a bit. We want you to create a card in PRETTY PASTELS so get out those softly coloured papers and embellishments and let's see what you come up with.

You don't have to use a Phindy image but we do hope you will.  If you do, make sure you enter it twice.  There are lots of fabulous images at Phindy's store that would look wonderful in pastels.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Divas by Design - Pastels
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
KB Cute Monday - Something Cute

Bring on the Sun

We finally had one partial day of sun yesterday for the first time in over two weeks and now it is gone again. I want the sun to come out and stay out so the snow can melt once and for all. The temperatures are supposed to rise over the next couple of days so let's hope it doesn't rain so we can get outside and enjoy the weather.

This week our challenge at Phindy's Friday Challenges is to make a card that is all about Hot Stuff/Warm Colors/Sunshine.  When I was deciding which image I would use, I saw this little guy and he sure reminded me of summer, warm colours and SUNSHINE.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Doodle Shops Best - Anything Goes
Charisma Cardz - Use Die Cuts
Art Impressions Stamps - Punches or Stamps

It's Mine

The challenge over at Mo's Manning's is to create a card using any one of her masculine images.  I'm struggling a bit right now because of the shingles but I managed to get this little cutie coloured and made a simple card with him.  Thank you to all of you who are sending me your good thoughts.  I am in a lot of pain as everyone has warned me I would be, but I am coping so far.

Besides Mo's challenge, I am also going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Pile It On - Boyish Colours
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
Oh, Alice - Card for A Child
AI Factory - Buttons
Creative Cottage - Circles
One Stitch At A Time - Card for a Child

The image is called Bronte and Louis and has been coloured with a combination of Prismacolor and Koh-I-Noor pencil crayons.  The paper is from Colorbok and the card stock is Recollections (Michaels).  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.  Other supplies used:  Chalk (Mungyo), Ribbon (Costco), Buttons (Dollar Store & Dress it Up), Embroidery Thread (my stash), Spiral Clip (Making Memories) and Spots & Dots Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug).
