Mother Love
The new challenge starts today at Frilly and Funkie and this time I am the hostess and I have chosen a theme called Thing With Wings. Use anything with wings as the focal point on your vintage or shabby chic projects this time. Be it of the animal, fantasy or mechanical variety we want your creativity to take flight!
I have had a couple weeks of Camp Grandma (the July edition - another week to come in August) so my creating time has been limited and I must admit that I wimped out and created a little more simple project for this challenge. I wanted to colour for a change and since I had this sweet image from A Day for Daisies I decided to use it as a focal point for a baby card. The images was coloured with Prismacolors and blended with Gottrick OMS. Some Stardust Stickles were added to the wings.
I used white card stock from Recollections for the blank and then started layering on papers from Maja Designs. The top of two layers were cut on one edge with a Martha Stewart edge punch.
I created the banner and used the punched stars as additional embellishments. The banner pieces are hanging from some burlap string and the whole banner is attached by a couple of mini clothespins that I painted white. I added a strip of lace and a computer generated sentiment that has been inked with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.
I also created some word art in Photoshop and made it into a hidden tag that was inked with Scattered Straw DI and has a little piece of satin ribbon at the top.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Aurora Wings - Anything with Wings
Crafty Sentiments - Baby
Top Tip Tuesday - Bingo - I used Sparkle (on wings), Sentiment, Ribbon or Twine
Come And Get It - Fairies
Di's Digi Designs - Hand Colored Image
Fussy and Fancy - Things with Wings
Polkadoodles - 2 or More Patterned Papers
Moving Along With The Times - Baby, Baby
The following products used in the creation of this card came from The Funkie Junkie Boutique:

Baby Love
It is time for a new two-week challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow and this time we have a PHOTO INSPIRATION for you. We want you to make a vintage or shabby chic card or other paper-crafted project using the photo below to guide you. You can use the theme in the photo or the colours - I have chosen to incorporate both
I started with some white card stock from Staples for my blank and then added some pretty paper from Far Far Hill for the background. Next I added some strips of complimentary paper from the Far Far Hill set.
The two lace strips on the side came from my Mother-in-Law's sewing room. I topped it with some satin ribbon from Kate's Paperie and a couple of teeny buttons from Dress It Up.
The image came from By Vintage Design and has been mounted on a piece of Recollections card stock and then framed with some pearl trim from my stash. The little butterfly was done with a Martha Stewart punch and the body are pearl stickers from Recollections. All the papers have been inked on the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink by Ranger.
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment was computer generated. The little gold charm came from a store in Manhattan but I can't remember the name and the next time I was there I couldn't find it.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew - Charms
Papertake Weekly - Bingo (Flowers, Free, Buttons)
Deep Ocean - Lace and Pearls
Craft Your Passion - Young at Heart

Baby Face
The challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow is called Baby Face. We want you to make vintage or shabby chic baby cards or other paper-crafted projects.
Starr Timmons is joining our wonderful Design Team this week as a Guest Designer. Please check out her blog and her creations.
I started by finding this fabulous image online at By Vintage Design and gave it a little distressing. The paper is from my scrap box and it has been there for so long that I don't remember where it came from. Since it was old, I decided to make it look older and added some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink (Ranger) to it and to the other elements.
The heart doily was a gift from my friend Shirley. The seam binding, button and eyelet trim were all from my stash. The corner is a Nellie Snellen die and I have added a few little Dollarama pearls to it.
The alphabet blocks were created with my Cameo. I started with a font and then broke it up so I could cut the frame and letters separately from the background in order to give them some dimension and make them look a bit more like real baby blocks.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - One Paper
A Little Bit Crafty - Anything Goes
By The Cute & Girly - Vintage
Cards Galore - Vintage
Cupcake Craft Challenges - Cute & Cuddly
Lexi's Creations - Lace and/or Ribbon
Corrosive Challenges - Life's Special Occasions

Messy Baby
I'm back from my vacation, my guests have flown back to England, the house is clean and my normal routine has returned even if my mojo hasn't. We did lots of sightseeing in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Kingston and I saw things I had never seen before so it was fun for me too.
We have been having horrible heat and our guests struggled with that but otherwise they said they had a good time. Now we are planning to visit them in September and during that time the four of us are going to Rome for a few days.
Our challenge to you this week at Phindy's Place challenge blog is to make a card with GINGHAMS OR PLAIDS. You don't have to use a Phindy image but if you do, you get to enter twice.
I used soft ginghams on my card but I had a terrible time getting a good photo. If I brightened everything up, there was no definition on the charm so you have to settle for a little dull photo. It is quite pretty in real life. The wonderful image from Phindy is paired with some equally wonderful word art from Paulette at Create with TLC - another of their great collaborations.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Creations - Baby
Ooh La La Creations - Baby, Baby
Delightful Challenges - Anything Goes
Shelly's Images - Anything Goes
Southern Girls - Oh Baby, Baby
Image: Messy Meal (Phindy's Place)
Sentiment: Create with TLC
Card Stock: White (Staples), Green (Recollections)

Colouring Medium: Pencil Crayons (Prismacolors) with OMS (Gotrick)
Tools & Embellishments: Pearl Stickers (Recollections), Ribbon (Kate's Paperie), Rose (Wild Orchid Crafts), Charm (My Stash), Circle Punches (EK Paper Shapers)

Tic Tac Toe at Phindy's Place
Wow, this Friday sure rolled around fast didn't it? That means it is time for another fun challenge at Phindy's Friday Challenge Blog and this week we are going to play TIC TAC TOE.
We want you to make a card using three elements from one row in the graphic below. Your row may run horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
We will choose one random winner who will receive a $5 gift certificate to Phindy's store. One entry will be selected as Card of the Week and the creator will also receive a $5 gift certificate to Phindy's store as well as being in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
You do not have to use a Phindy's image to play but if you do, don't forget to follow the instructions on the sidebar and enter it twice. If you don't have any Phindy's image, pop over to her store and pick up a few. You can see her newest image on the sidebar.
Our designers have had some fun playing Tic Tac Toe and created some great inspiration for you. Now pick a row and let's see what you can create.
For my card I have used the vertical row on the left - embossing, buttons and a die cut. This card is to welcome a new baby girl and has a personal (and confidential) message inside.

Let's Play Tag
Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow. I hope you are enjoying your summer so far and are managing in the oppressive heat happening in many parts of the United States and Canada. For those of you in other areas that are not so hot, can I come for a visit to get some relief? Thursday, we had a humidex of 48C or 106F. Thank heaven for central air conditioning and for an air conditioned car.
This week our challenge to you is TAGS. You can create a single tag or put a tag on your card or other paper crafted creation. Don't forget we are a vintage, shabby chic or primitive challenge blog and would ask that your project be in one of those styles.
This week a random winner will receive a digi or our choice and a badge to display on her blog. The Design Team will also choose one project as Card of the Week and that creator will also receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
Our designers have created some lovely tags for your inspiration and if you want to check out the details, just click on their names and you will be taken directly to their blogs.
I did some playing in Photoshop to create the pram in the background. I found a photo of the pram (sorry, I can't remember where) and then I chopped it out of the background, which was more work than I expected because I had all sorts of stray bits to erase. I changed the colour and I found some grunge brushes online and made it look scratched and sort of like a vintage stamp. It was fun to do but when you don't have a clue as to what you are doing, it can be time-consuming. Finally I printed it directly onto the floral paper.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Paper Play Challenges - Ribbon, Lace, Buttons
ABC Challenge - "Y" is for Yesterday
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Create a Tag
Bearly Mine - Tag, You're It
Ooh La La Creations - Tag It

The week has flown by and it is another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week our challenge to you is to use DOILIES on your card or other paper-crafted project. This week we have a wonderful sponsor, Glitterbabe's Digis, who will provide the random winner with a $10 gift card to her store. The random winner will also receive a Sugar Creek Hollow winner's badge to display on her blog.
The Design Team will also choose one card as Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Wee Babbies
There is a new collection at Phindy's Place called Wee Babbies and all of us on the Design Team are making sample cards to show each time a new stamp is released. Here is my card for this adorable stamp called Saddle Up and Ride, which is being released today. If you make sure you are a follower of Phindy's Blog or her group on Paper Craft Planet, you will get notification each time a new stamp in the collection is released. These new images are absolutely adorable and there are a great mix of girls and boys with themes that will remind you of your own kids.
I went to Calgary last week to visit relatives and took this card along to welcome the newest little cousin who was born in November. Dreamy Baby
As this posts, I am winging my way to Cuba for a week. I am going with two ladies from the neighbourhood for a week of sun and relaxation on the island of Cayo Largo, which sits in the Caribbean Sea. I sure hope my husband manages without me :)
Today the challenge at Phindy's Friday Challenges is to make a card using this sketch.
We have friends that are going to be first-time Grandparents in February so I thought I better get a card ready to go with a gift or two that we will be giving to the new parents. Since they don't know whether they are having a boy or a girl, I had to make a card that could be used for either and I chose this dreamy baby and a pale cream palette.

Clean and Simple for Phindy
I am entering this card in the challenge this week at Phindy's Place, which calls for a clean and simple card. I needed that today since the weather is doing a tap dance on my head. It is so hot and humid here and just as I went to go for my daily walk, it rained buckets. Oh well, perhaps that rain will cool things down a tad.
