Birthday Wishes by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a card inspired by blue flowers I saw on Pinterest.  I love looking around over there.  If you missed a blog post or want to see more Cheery Lynn inspiration you can follow on Pinterest too.

I started this card by creating the blue flower and choosing a background paper that coordinated with the color.  Then I filled in the leaves from the Floral Bouquet Kit die, added the Birthday Wishes Circle on top of a circle from the M4 set and added a small butterfly.  It was really a quick card to make, the longest part was probably accordion folding the leaves on the flower.  I used six of the stacker flowers to create fullness.  I hope you like the result.

To finish things off I added yellow stamens to the center of the Stacker Flower #5 using the Embellishments #3 die and then glued a gem in the center of the flower.  Rhinestones were also glued to the butterfly and I embellished the leaves with glitter glue and the flower petals with glossy accents.

Happy Mother's Day by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi, Happy Mother's Day!  It's Jenny here with you sharing a card.  I envisioned this card as a CAS (clean and simple) design with just the Japanese Garden Lace Oval and butterflies.  Sometimes the reality comes out very differently and I thought the card needed more.  I added a piece of designer card stock cut with the A2 Rectangular Scalloped Frames behind the oval and then built the card.  The butterflies were colored with distress ink and a cosmetic wedge sponge.

I glued the Happy Mother's Day to the center, positioned the butterflies and then glued the centers down, letting the wings fly freely.  White card stock was used to make the Sweet Christine flowers in the corner and I added pink flowers that were made with the Embellishments #3 die.  The leaves are from the Ivy Strip.  They were cut out of the background paper and then colored with some brown distress ink.  I wanted them darker than the background for contrast but I wanted to add some more interest by using patterned card stock.

Happy Spring Cards by Amy Voorthuis

3:00 AM 1 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
Today I would like to show you two 15 minutes cards using water coloring on them.
They are super easy to make and really fun to give to someone that appreciates handmade cards.
For these cards I used just plain white & black card stock, three dies, a sponge and Lindy's spray.  Normally I am not such a fan of clean & simple but I think I am getting the hang of it.  But no worries, I will be designing like I always have been doing - these are just for fun.

Happy Spring:
First I cut out the card stock at the right sizes and then found my colors for the butterfly.  If you look closely you will see that I cut them out twice in two different colors and layered them on top of each other. I wanted the teal colors to come back in the back ground and for the pink I used "Poppin' Pink by Lindy's Stamp Gang.

I just sponged them on the background and later on gave it some splatters to finish it of. I made the words out of black card stock and at the end I made a stitch border with a pen. Because I am so happy spring is in town at where I live I used those particular words on my cards.

Just Because Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
It's a pretty sunny morning where I live. I hope it is where you live too.
Today I would like to show you a wintry card I have made with the super summery "Boardwalk"collection by BoBunny.
I used the colors pale blue, white and brown to create my card.
The lace you see peaking trough is by Tresors de Luxe.

Just Because:
I cut the butterflies out of white papers and then layered them on the pail blue in this collection so the butterflies are not see through anymore.
 Let's have a closer look:

Forever Friends by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn friends, it's JULIE here today. This week I thought I would showcase the versatility of our Stacker dies and how by turning them round and cutting in to the die cut shapes with another stacker you are able to achieve lots of different shapes.

You will see on these photos how I cut out my shapes and inserted in to each other for my base layer.

This photo shows my next layers and how I turned the same stacker as on the first layer around 90 degrees to give a different look.

My Butterfly was heat embossed and a pearl added.

My roses were cut out in White Cardstock and shaded with 2 colours of Distress Ink.

My words were double layered for a shadow effect and the "S" was taken from my word set Happy Christmas. Finally adding some pearls, Stickles and a Leaf Flourish to finish.

With Kisses by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's JULIE here today hosting the blog. Cheery Lynn do the most wonderful Butterfly dies in many different styles and sizes with Angel wings for perfect layering. So I thought it would be nice to show you all how they can hold centre stage on a card for a wow factor.

I started by matting and layering my stacker dies to give a detailed border with contrasting colours and adding some Copper Stickles around the edge of my centre mat.

My Doily was cut out in Cream Cardstock and shaded with Distress ink, matting onto my Pierced stackers along with my Lords and Commons Super Doily. My Butterfly was heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder and layered onto my Angel Wing Die, finishing off with a few pearls and a Sentiment.

Off to Great Places with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello, it's Jenny here with a red, white & light blue card.  First I used the largest of the Deutschland Boutique Stackers to cut the blue layer that was glued to a white A2 card.  The red layer was cut with the Rectangular Classic A2 Frames.  I stamped the quote, cut it with a small circle from the Circle Classic Silver Stackers Set, and adhered it to the Nautical Wheeler Doily.  The interior of the circle was shaded with antique linen distress ink.

The flowers were cut with the Poinsettia Strip.  I used a light blue card stock and shaded the edges with peacock feathers distress ink.  I crumpled the petals for a distressed look and added rhinestone centers.  The leaves were cut from the Flourish Leaf Strip and flourishes from the Add a Flourish dies.  Then I tucked them into the flowers.

Last I used one of the Small Exotic Butterflies, colored him with distress ink, popped him up with foam adhesive and added rhinestones.

Forever Yours by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Happy Valentines Day to everyone, it's Julie here today and I am sharing with you a very Ornate Vintage Style Valentines card using lots of layers, dies and a coordinating pack of papers.

In this photograph you will see how my layers started on my card. I tattered some edges and added Distress Ink for an aged look along with a little Muslin tucked around my layers, also adding a few pearls around my clock.

My main flower, stamens were added into the centre along with a little Gesso to the edges of the petals. My Chrysanthemums were folded in half, offset, glued in place and the petals ruffled. Leaves were rubbed at the edges with a little Distress and a wooden heart added.

My heart I paper pieced back in the centre with a different shade of paper and Pearls added. The word Forever was layered twice for depth.

I colour tinted my image and added it on to the Alpine Flourish frame.

Finishing off my card by adding Pearl swirls and a delicate butterfly.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend and good luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Doll Tag by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Hi Everyone.
It's Julie here today hosting the blog. I thought this week it would be nice to make a fun tag for a change.

My tag this week is pretty self explanatory but let me point out some of the layers to you. I started off cutting a layer of paper to cover my tag and used the Border Carnivale at one side, with the Anastasia Border at the other side. I also layered my Lattice Valance Border on each side to add a contrast of colour for more interest. My Horizon Fishtail Banners were paper pieced at either side to extend it slightly.

My heart was cut out and I added back in the inside part that I had die cut out. I layered Daughter twice for a shadow effect.

My butterflies were cut out in patterned paper and angel wing added to the back.

I used my tiny flowers to decorate my doll stamps dress, headband and shoes to give a little more texture. Finishing off with some gems, ribbon and stickles.

Hope you have enjoyed my post today and good luck to everyone entering our weekly challenge.

See you all next Saturday,

Julie x

Thinking of you by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hello there Blogging friends it's Julie here today. I have made a Thinking of you card today which could easily adapt to many different occasions using the Cheery Lynn word dies.

I had a lot of fun making this card and hope you give it a go too. I used the Square Classic to cut out all my small frames and edged them with embossing powder on the outside and inside of the frames. I layered 3 frames with foam pads to give more dimension onto my card and kept the one with the wording flat. Layering them up onto different sizes of the Square Scalloped die. These 2 dies compliment each other so you don’t have to think about measuring out everything for your card, the dies do the job for you.

Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Thanks for popping by, enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you all next Saturday.

Forever Card

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hello!

Corina here, for the Friday blog post! I thought I would share with you a Wedding themed card. I believe that this card could also be given as an Anniversary Card.

I love using inks and sprays to create my colour palette. I decided to spray the medium doily (Lilith Doily) with homemade glimmer mist in Black Pearl and the Butterfly (Small Exotic Butterflies #1) with Silver Onyx. The heart (Two Of Hearts) was sprayed with Cherry Pie Dylusions. The POP of red on the beautiful heart doily is perfect!

Layering with Cheery Lynn Dies is easy and simple. The hardest choice is colour! So let your imagination take over and see where it takes you!

Have a great weekend and remember to Create!

Spring Friend Card

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hello Everyone!

Corina here for the my last week as March Guest Designer! Time flew by so quickly! In this last week I travelled south to Vancouver BC, where Spring has sprung! Only to return home to a winter Storm and more snow! So this week, my inspiration came from the few days I spent in "Spring"!

I thought that I would share a picture of my work process when I made this card. I started off with white cardstock for my die cuts (except for Friend, I knew I wanted the sentiment dark!). I  proceed by arranging the die cuts to form my scene. From there, I painted, spritzed, glittered, coloured and inked to create my chosen colour palette.

The finished card is always a little different from my concept at the beginning! But that is okay! I always enjoy my creative journey with each and every craft project I do!

Judy's Blooms - C184
Ivy Strip - B304
Baby's Breath Flower Kit (Set of 3) - B364
Small Exotic Butterflies #1 w/Angel Wings - DL112AB
Japanese Garden Lace Oval with Angel Wing - DL136AB
Tiny Things with Wings - B266
Expandable Tiny Borders - B215

Thank you for sharing this last month with me, I appreciate every comment that was left and had a wonderful time! Also a huge Thank You to BJ & Sandy for giving me this opportunity to share my passion with all of you!

Hope you enjoyed!
