Be My Valentine by Debbie Brownmiller

9:33 AM 0 Comments
Hi. This is Debbie from Debbie's Time out with you today. I am sharing with you my man's valentines card.
I started with a woodgrain base matted in black. I used the Pop Up Hearts on top.  I layered the Burlap Border  at a angle and then placed the Cool Beans  mug and Be My Valentine Heart  on top. I turned the big heart on top into a face using the Men's 4 Piece Die Set. Last I layered a couple small hearts with sentiments from the Sweetheart Candy  set.

Thank so much for visiting the blog today. Have a crafty day

The Mayflower

3:30 AM 0 Comments
A warm hello to you. It's Debbie hosting the blog today from Debbie's Time Out. Today I will share with you a guy card. I will be featuring one of Cheery Lynn Designs older dies called the Mayflower. This die is perfect for men's or even boy cards.

I started this card with three layers of cardstock for the base.  I layered the Burlap Border across the center at a angle. This border is one of my favorite dies on men's cards. The Mayflower  I cut in two different colors and inked them up. I just love the detail in this ship.

Here I layered the Sand dollar & Starfish as well as the Ship's Compass. The  Thank You was layered on the top corner.

I thank You for visiting the blog today and hope I have inspired you to do a few men's cards. The men do really appreciate homemade card too.

Have a wonderful craft day my friends.

Smile Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:00 AM 2 Comments
Hello lovely Cheery Lynn Fans.
Flowers, flowers, flowers, who doesn't love flowers? Well I am a huge sucker for flowers especially when they are made with Cheery Lynn dies. I so enjoy making them myself. For today's card I used two different collections by Maja Design and two amazing dies to make the flowers on my card.
The color palette is like my latest layout I made for Maja Design that was posted on my blog yesterday if you click here => Amy's Pretty Papers <= you can see more of my work.

Smile:
The color palette I used is black and white plus one, but for this card I added two colors orange and green for the leaves because in my opinion leaves are supposed to be green. I cut my B312 - Burlap Border in uneven strips to make the card more shabby chic and placed them behind my flower like I did with the leaf dies. At the end I added a pretty dot stamp and some cute feathers.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today!
I hope you enjoyed my post and I have inspired you to use your Cheery Lynn Designs dies.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Tic-Tac-Toe Valentine Card by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 4 Comments
A warm Hello to you. It is Debbie hosting the blog today from Debbie's Time Out. Today I am going to share a valentine card with you.

I created a tic-tac-toe board and placed the Sweetheart Candy on it. The frames for the tic-tac-toe board were created using the Burlap Border . The line down the blue hearts was also cut from the Burlap Border .

I inked and layered the cute little Be Mine Teddy Bear on the corner. He is just too cute.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this card and that it has given you inspiration for some of your Valentine cards. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and for the comments you leave. They are always appreciated. Wishing you a wonderful day.

The Sky is the Limit by Debbie Brownmiller

12:30 AM 1 Comments
Nice to see you here. It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today. It is that time of year again for graduations. Cheery Lynn has a awesome Graduation die set as well as the sentiment "Graduation" so thought I would play with these dies to make a graduation card .
I started this card by embossing the base with the Clocks Embossing Plate  .
I then layered the Burlap Border  near the bottom. That gave me the base I wanted to build on.
Along the left side I have cut the Pierced Banners (Set of 3)  out of map paper and matted it with black cardstock. Because of the printed sentiment "The Sky is the Limit"  I thought the plane from the new Fun Travel Die Set would be perfect to layer on the banner and make it a great guy card.
The burlap border made a nice background to layer the grad hat and diploma on from the Graduation Set (Set of 2. I used gold paper for the tassle and ribbon as well as for the Graduation sentiment. I used some gold outline sticker along the top.
I used the two of the dies from the Say What? (Set of 16  for the  clouds in the sky and to print the sentiments on.
This is a front view of the card. All die cuts are popped up for added dimension. The banner I glued just along the top of the card and let it stick out at the bottom for even more dimension. I was quite pleased with the way the Graduation Set and the NEW Fun Travel Die Set  pair so well together to create this card.

Want to see another graduation card? Well one of my beautiful granddaughters graduates today and I have designed a card  especially for her with love. If you check out my blog @ Debbie's Time Out you will get to have a peek at it. It was created using more Cheery Lynn Design dies.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. Have a crafty week my friends.

Happy Easter with Chicks by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 0 Comments

A warm hello to all you Cheery Lynn Fans from Debbie at Debbie's Time Out. I have been thinking Easter is right around the corner and wanting to do something special for my grandkids. What a better way than to start with a cute card and go from there.

I have chosen to feature the Chicks 2 die from the last new release. They are just too cute.  I started with a pink base. The next layer is white cardstock that I pierced with the Pierce Plate Large Parallel Rectangle and then die cut the bottom edge of it with the Curved Border Set . I cut the Burlap Border out of some wicker looking paper and only popped out the odd cut outs and left some in to give it more of a wicker basket appearance. I like the effect it gave. Happy Easter was cut from some pattern paper and inked up. To the top corner I added the Fanciful Flourish  and use the Embellishments 3 for the cute tiny flowers.

Now for the cute eggs and chicks I layered the cracked egg from the Chicks 2 set of three onto the Lace Egg Five .

Here I layered another of the Chicks 2  onto the Lace Egg Seven . That chick is just priceless.

Here I layer the third chick from Chicks 2 onto the Lace Egg Five . I know this card will bring a smile to my grandkids face and that makes is so worth creating a homemade card with love for them.

I would like to Thank You for stopping by the blog today and for all the comments you leave. They are really appreciated.

My Little Guy 8x8 Layout by Amy Voorthuis

3:00 AM 5 Comments
Hello lovelies.
Today it's me again on the blog to share another 8x8 layout I made using some amazing dies.
For this layout I used one of my favorite Studio 75 collections ever named "Mrs & Mr Black".  It has just all the neutral colors there are, which I absolutely adore.
For this layout I used a picture of our little {when I say "little" he says mom I am 10 and not little hihi} but he will always be our little guy.

My Little Guy:
This collection consists of the cream and soft black gray tones which I absolutely adore! Look at our son's goofy smile - makes me want to eat his face hihihi love him so much. He said mom do you want to take pictures of me and I said well yeahhh for sure {he almost never offers to take pictures of him so I was luckily surprised}
This was such a fun layout to create but still really hard because I didn't use any flowers.  For me that is killing.....Let's have a closer look:

Thankful Harvest by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn friends, it's JULIE here today. In Scotland the Farmers are now ploughing their fields and bringing in their Harvest, which made me think of this wonderful New Release die 'Thankful Harvest'. I love the versatility of it as it suits Thanksgiving cards perfectly and would also be lovely on an Autumn Birthday card or a Recipe Book project to name a few.

I cut out my centre square, highlighting the stitches with a Fineliner pen, also using my Burlap Border as a die cut and a stencil to add some extra interest on to the background.

My Wheatheads I layered twice for extra dimension adding the little bow double layered from the Mistletoe Die.

My Thankful Harvest I cut out in White Cardstock and started to shade the fruit and vegetables with my Copics and the basket I shaded with inks. I filled my Pumpkins and Pepper, layering up twice for a 3D look. My Grapes I kept all the small bits of waste, shaping them on my embossing mat and gluing back in place with a little Silicone glue to raise them up, finally added Glossy Accents to give them a sheen. My corn I had embossed with my die (TECHNIQUE HERE) trimming around the cob and shading with Copics before gluing in place.

Thinking of you by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hello there Blogging friends it's Julie here today. I have made a Thinking of you card today which could easily adapt to many different occasions using the Cheery Lynn word dies.

I had a lot of fun making this card and hope you give it a go too. I used the Square Classic to cut out all my small frames and edged them with embossing powder on the outside and inside of the frames. I layered 3 frames with foam pads to give more dimension onto my card and kept the one with the wording flat. Layering them up onto different sizes of the Square Scalloped die. These 2 dies compliment each other so you don’t have to think about measuring out everything for your card, the dies do the job for you.

Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Thanks for popping by, enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you all next Saturday.

Bit of This and That with Rhonda

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Monday greetings to all of our crafty friends!  Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

My card that I have to share with you today was inspired by a few scraps laying on my table.  I had the burlap border scrap and the green scalloped French Flair shape staring at me and wanted to use them. I started with those pieces and added a bit here and there to it.

Have you seen the darling Tags 1 and Tags 2 dies that Cheery Lynn Designs has? I think they are so fantastic and the perfect accent! They were mixed up so I had a variety of tag shapes and the string is a little different on each for interest.

You can see the gear tucked in behind my flowers here.

Sometimes I like to cut apart pieces of the borders or flourishes to use them in different ways.  You'll see those little hearts and they were cut from the Sophia's Heart Border die.  I then used the scallops above and below the little green tag as you can see above.

Irina inspired me to try and shape my medium rose a little differently. Stay tuned as she shares with us a tutorial later this week on how she does her amazing roses!

French Flair Scalloped - XL13

We would love to see you play along in our all new Black and Orange Challenge this week!  Be sure to check out all of the fun details right here

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!

Song Birds

3:30 AM 6 Comments
Hi Everyone,

Today I have a fun fold to share with you.  My inspiration came from a very lovely and talented lady.  Her name is Judy and she calls this fold a Horizontal Multifold.   As you will see, it is pretty simple to make but gives you a bit of a different twist for the times you want to add  that little something extra.

Here is a little closer look at the front.  I used Sweet Williams Strip and crepe paper to make the flowers.  With crepe paper you can make the flowers as full as you want because the paper is so thin you can layer many more die cuts to achieve your desired shape and fullness.

here is the inside

Here's a list of the dies used for this project:

I hope you have an opportunity to play along with the challenge this week and put in your entry.   The theme is Keep it Krafty (use kraft paper)!  With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Have a Cheery Day!
