Someone Special by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here and today I am sharing a shabby chic style card with you all, which measures approx 8" x 5".

I added Frantage to my layers of paper tattering at the edges and adding some stitching for extra detail.  I accented my doilies between my layers and added my border strip. I just adore the lacey look of Cheery Lynn Dies.

My cute Whimsical Bird I popped a little silicone glue behind his wing and double layered with a coordinating paper. Finishing with black liquid pearl in his eye.

Then onto the fun bit of arranging my flowers on my card. You will notice I have Flowersoft, Pearls and Stamens in the centres of my flowers for added detail.

Saying Thanks in a Whimsical Way

7:30 AM 12 Comments

Hi everyone! It's me Gabrielle here with you today to share a couple more projects with you as January's guest designer for Cheery Lynn!  I don't know about you but I find I am always in need of thank-you cards, I like to take the time to send a card to show my appreciation to someone.

I wanted to get some extra use out of that cute lattice piece I got in my last CL order so I thought I'd use it like a window design on a whimsical style card featuring fairies and flowers.

For my flowers I just layered a couple of the Sweet Williams floral dies, inked the edges with a little chalk ink and glued some flower stamens to the centers.  I wanted to continue the light filligree look so I used the leaves from the Flourish Leaf strip in white and the Lace Corner Deco in white.  I used papers from Graphic 45, Prima and Bo Bunny.  I gave the whole thing a more tattered look by tucking in bits of muslin (cheese-cloth) here and there.

The funny thing is, once I get started playing with my pretty Cheery Lynn dies, I more often than not find that I can't just stop at one card!  I get a few ideas going at once and therefore ended up with an extra card this week! :)

For this card I wanted to play up the delicate gate die!  I just love the super fine design on the Ornamental gate and I thought it again played well with the Graphic 45 window design in their patterned paper.

I used adhesive foam dots to create pocket design behing the gate, I find the shadow this creates gives a nice 3D look to the card.  I also used another one of the Lace Corner designs I used in the top card for this one.

I used one of my all time favorite CL dies, the Fanciful Flourish as a 'stem' for my floral arrangement and again used the Sweet Williams Strip for my handmade flowers but in this case I curled the petals to create more of a rose look tothe blooms.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today and hope that I've inspired you to get out your Cheery Lynn dies to play today!  I look forward to sharing another project with you all next week! xo

A Little Love Note with Rhonda

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Happy Monday Cheery Lynn Friends! It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I wanted a little break away from the holiday "everything" right now to create an everyday card this week. We always need a card on hand to say we're thinking of someone or simply that we love them.

This is a shaped card featuring our Coved Rectangle stackers.  I just love this pretty shape and the backer here is the scalloped, then the blue-green layer is actually a folded layer.

The hearts here relief cuts from the Heartland America Doily die.  I thought they were pretty layered in with the floral cluster.  The solid heart edges were inked for a bit of definition.

Non-Traditional Holiday Shaped Card with Rhonda

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Happy Monday Cheery Lynn Designs friends!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

My project is an oval shaped card featuring our Oval Silver Stackers, Oval Stackers and layered with the Oval Horizon Boutique Stacker Frames.  To further accent the shape, I cut one of the Sentiment Frame #2 dies, then cut it in half to accent my top and bottom of the card.

"Holiday Wishes"

The birdcage die was such a pretty fit to this shaped card that I just had to use it!  You see the same Sentiment Frame a second time on the card, only cut from a few papers for interest.

I used mini silver bells for a few of my floral centers on the miniature roses. The coral flower was inked with white chalk ink to soften the color a bit.

I was inspired by this week's challenge to create a holiday card using a non traditional color scheme and I hope you are too. The details are available here. A $20 shopping spree to the Cheery Lynn Designs store is going to be awarded to some lucky participant!!!

Thanks so much for stopping over to visit us today on the blog, have a fabulous week!

Shabby card with Irina Gerschuk

Hi my dear friends!
Irina Gerschuk is here with you today.
And I'm super excited to share with you my new shabby card!
As I'm a fan of flourish projects I started to create my card from the gorgeous Large Rose die. Than I added some different leaves to the composition. And at leased I though: "What shabby card without doily or lace?" - so I added Ambergris Doily and Tiffany Border die-cuts.

Some close-ups:
