Post 231: Floral Card (Shine)

Hi friends :)

How are you ? Any plans for the weekend ? I'm still under the weather and trying to recover from the flu. A few new supplies got delivered today and I was so excited to play with them. I sat on the bed and crafted there only because I didn't have the energy to get up and work on the craft table. I've got a floral card to share today. This is a standard A2 sized top folding card. I enjoyed watercoloring it with zig markers and an aqua brush. The sentiment is a grungy one which I really like, it reads "shine" I thought this will be a nice encouraging card to send to a friend to pep her spirits :)

List of Supplies:

Stamplorations Stamp- Blossom Sprays 2
Stamplorations Stamp- Art Marks
Stamplorations Stamp- Winged Things
Cutplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Die
Lawn Fawn Small Dotted Rectangle Die
Canson Watercolor paper
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
Aqua Brush
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
White & Black Cardstock 270 gsm
Uniball Signo White Gel Pen

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

Post 223- CAS Fruity Birthday Card

Hi friends!

This is the third post in which I share my experiments of trying to convert other shaped stamps into summer fruits.

This is a 5 by 7 side folding card. I was happy to use up some of my colored cardstock snippets here, I stamped on them with Ranger's archival inks, colored them with zigs where ever required and then fussy cut them to get the fruits. Added a few highlights with a white gel pen. Then stamped the rectangle base and the sentiment within it from the W & W The big, the bold and the happy set in versafine onyx black ink, after that stacked the fruits and adhered them to the card base and finally stamped a few hearts from the W & W Welcome to the Family with Evelin T Designs Stamp Set.  I think the strawberries came out quite nice and the watermelon could have looked much brighter stamped on a white cs, will remember that for future projects.

For the strawberries (circled in red ), grapes (circled in green) and Kiwi Fruit (circled in blue) I converted these stamps from W & W's In Bloom: Lola's Bouquet
For the watermelon I converted this circle stamp (marked in red) from W & W's A Tree for all Seasons.
For the pineapple, I partially inked up the penguin's body from W & W's Stampet: Penguin

Post 222- CAS One Layer Card "I will always be there for you"

Hi friends!

This is the second post in which I share my experiments of trying to create summer fruits out of other stamps. This is an A2 sized cas one layer card. I created the background by sponging a couple of distress oxide inks (fossilized amber and spiced marmalade) through a hexagon design stencil, then stamped the penguin from the W & W Stampet: Penguin set and the sentiment from the W & W A Tree for All Seasons using versafine onyx black ink. Then converted the penguin into a pineapple by drawing and coloring on some details using zig markers and a white gel pen.

This card really gives me a chuckle because the penguin masquerading as a pineapple with that huge crown on his head reminds me of King Julien from the kiddy movie series Madagascar, which is a brilliant funny flick and I really enjoyed that character. If you haven't checked it out, please do. It will make you laugh for sure.

Post 221- CAS One Layer Card (watermelon)

Hi friends!

I was really inspired by the Gossip Column Challenge over at Winnie & Walter and wanted to make a few cards on the theme of summer fruits. It's a super fun theme! Don't you think? I discovered that I did not have any fruit related stamps! So I did the next best thing :) I decided to experiment with the ones I already had to make fruity shapes. I made 3 CAS cards out of my lil experiments.

This is the first one which is a top folding A2 size CAS One Layer card. I used a yellow colored cardbase to keep with the summery theme. To make the watermelon shape, I inked up part of the big circular stamp in the W & W Tree for All Seasons stamp set with zig markers and then stamped with that. Added a few black dots for the seeds. And poof! I had my watermelon image! I did not spritz the stamp with water because I wanted a look similar to Gelli printing. Then I stamped the sentiment from the same set in versafine onyx black ink and added a little shadow underneath the slice of watermelon with a grey zig. Finally, stamped a little heart (from the W & W Welcome to the Family with Evelin T Designs) using a red zig on the stamp.

Post 215: CAS card: You're Tea-riffic!

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Card today. This is a 5 by 7 side folding card. I started out by using a stencil to do watercoloring. This was the first time I tried this out. Basically, used zig markers to paint through the stencil. After that, I added more color and used an aqua brush to do watercoloring

Then stamped the sentiment (You're Tea-riffic) , hearts and tea cup in distress oxide and did water coloring with zigs. Added 3 tiny fussy cut butterflies to the card panel. Finally, adhered the card panel which is a wonky stitched rectangle die cut of watercolor paper onto a white card base. I kept the color palette as yellow, orange and reds to keep with the happy and summery theme.

List of Supplies:

Lawn Fawn Stamp- Best Pun Ever
Designs by Ryn Stencil- Maidenhair Fern
Cutplorations Die- Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Die
White Cardstock 250 gsm
Distress Oxide Inkpad- Fired Brick
Canson Watercolor Paper

Post 214: CAS One Layer Card: Tea

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple One Layer Card today. This is a standard A2 size top folding card. I sponged 2 distress oxide inks through a stencil negative to create a yellow-orangish curve. Then stamped the sentiment in black archival ink and the images in red ink. To add a few details, colored the cup and kettle with Derwent pencils and for a little drama, added a little steam coming out of the cup :)  The color palette is in keeping with summer; yellows and reds.

List of Supplies:

Paper Sweeties Stamp- Eat Cake (Sentiment)
Paper Sweeties Stamp- Planner Series- Happy Icons
Distress Oxide Inkpads- Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade
Ranger's round blending tool and foam
Ranger's Archival Ink- Jet Black and Carnation Red
Craftyscrappers Stencil- Create-A-Scene
White Cardstock 250 gsm
Derwent Color Pencils

Post 210: CAS Card- Latte Love

Hi friends :)

Today, I spent a few hours cardmaking and it was so much fun! I didn't even get enough sleep after watching movies till very late but as soon as I woke up I felt the need to do some water coloring. It is so so much fun! I'm only a novice but I enjoy it tremendously :)

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Card. This is a side folding 5 by 7 card. This is a summer themed project depicted by the warm yellow and orange colors I used around the coffee mug.
The procedure was simple enough. The panel is a wonky stitched rectangle die cut of watercolor paper. Stamped the images on it. Then did watercoloring and then adhered the clustered heart die cut (added 3 watercolored hearts in the negative space for added interest.) to the panel. Finally, adhered the card panel to the card base. The sentiment reads, "Sending a whole latte love your way mom"

List of Supplies:

Stamplorations Stamp- Latte Love (Shery Russ Designs)
Cutplorations Die- Clustered Hearts
Cutplorations Die- Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Die
Lawn Fawn Stamp- Best Pun Ever (sentiment-mom)
Canson Watercolor Paper
Iris White Cardstock 250 gsm
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers
Aqua Brush
Snippets of red cardstock
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
