Post 135: Cheers Tag

Hi!

Today I'd like to share a sweet little tag I made. Wanted it to be soft and subtle with the pretty colors of spring. I think this would be great to accompany a baby themed gift.

Synopsis of the process:

Started off by doing water coloring on water color paper using zig markers and an aqua brush. Wanted very light and soft colors to create a background. Then die cut the water color paper with a circle stitched scalloped die, some baby pink cardstock with a circle die and then die cut the word cheers from the water colored piece. Did some inlay work by sticking the die cut negatives back onto the tag. Also die cut the word cheers from baby pink cardstock and stuck it. Adhered the water colored cheers die cut on top of the baby pink to give the word cheers slight dimension. After that, die cut the butterfly twice and colored it with zigs. Then created a 3d butterfly out of the 2 die cuts and pasted it on the tag. Then adhered pearls on the pink base of the tag. Finally, added 2 ribbons in soft matching colors and tied a bow.

List of Supplies:

1. Winnie & Walter Word Cutaways- Cheers
2. Gina Marie Designs Circular Stitched Scalloped Dies
3. Sizzix Circle Die set
4. Sizzix Floral Wreath Die set (butterfly)
5. Iris and baby pink textured cardstock 250 gsm
6. Canson Montval Watercolor paper
7. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens
8. Aqua Brush
9. Tombow Mono Multi Glue
10. Ribbons (yellow satin and pink organza)
11. Adhesive pearls

Here are a few pictures of the tag:

Post 134: Happy Birthday Card (Breakfast In Bed)

Hi friends!!

I'd like to share a fun, happy and cute birthday card I created in the morning. The lil scene is that of a breakfast in bed for the birthday boy/girl :) Who doesn't like a fresh cupcake with some hot tea ?
This is a side folding standard A2 size card.

Synopsis of the Process:

I stamped images from the Lawn Fawn Best Pun Ever and the Lawn Fawn Love n Breakfast stamp sets onto snippets of iris cardstock with Ranger's Archival Jet Black ink. Wanted the images to be bright and cheerful so colored directly with zig markers. Then fussy cut the images. A fancy border was punched into the front of the card base by using a martha stewart chevron fence punch. Some ink blending was done onto the card front to create a soft blue look. Then the fussy cut images were arranged and pasted onto the card front with Tombow glue. (I added the flowers to the kettle to make it look bright and cheery and in keeping with the spring theme) The sentiment is punched out alphabets from the martha stewart alphabet punch, they were adhered in a fun zig zag way. To finish off, a few sparkly sequins were added.

List of Supplies:

1. Lawn Fawn Stamp set - Best Pun Ever
2. Lawn Fawn Stamp set - Love N Breakfast
3. Martha Stewart Alphabets Punch
4. Martha Stewart Chevron Fence Punch
5. Iris Cardstock 250 gsm

Post 133: Card - We Click

Hi friends!!

I would like to share a simple friendship/love themed card today.
This is a side folding A2 size card.
The green colored camera has a coat of clear wink of stella on it and so has shimmer but sadly, it doesn't show up in the pictures.

Synopsis of the Process:

On the stitched rectangle die cut panel, I stamped the camera image repeatedly from the Paper Smooches Stamp- Perpetual Bliss  using archival jet black ink to create a background.

Then colored one of the cameras with green zig markers and went over it with the clear wink of stella to add shimmer.

Then did some heat embossing of the sentiment from the same stamp set on a snippet of black cardstock. Cut it to a banner shape and created a second banner with green cardstock with some light green lined washi tape on it.

Finally, the panel was adhered to the cardbase with Tombow glue and the card was finished off with 3 green sequins.

Supplies Used:
2. Iris cardstock 250 gsm
3. Ranger's Archival Jet Black Inkpad
4. Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens
5. Ranger's Heat Tool
6. Homemade Emboss Buddy

So the big event is finally here and I'm late to the party :( I was sooo looking forward to the spring coffee lovers hop, having bought new tea/coffee stamps and all ready to get inky but then I've been feeling exhausted since Friday, so basically slept through most of the weekend in addition to completing pending work and sneaking in 1 card making session today. The process of making this is pretty straight forward. This is a side folding standard A2 size birthday card. I used 250 gsm kraft cardstock to create the card base. The fancy border on the front of the card was created with a Martha Stewart Border punch. Then, I stamped the coffee mug and sentiment from the Stamplorations- Latte Love stamp set in Ranger's archival jet black ink. Added 3 hand drawn flowers with a fine point sharpie. Then lightly colored and did some shading with Derwent colored pencils. To add some interest, the small solid heart stamp was stamped from the Lawn Fawn- Best Pun Ever Stamp set in Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink and outlined with Uniball Signo white gel pen

Supplies Used:

1. Kraft cardstock 250 gsm

Post 131: CAS Floral Card: Have a beautiful day

Hi friends!

Thanks for visiting my blog :) Today I'd like to share a clean and simple floral card. The color scheme is inspired by the Altenew March Inspiration Challenge (yellow, orange and red). This is a side folding standard A2 size card

Synopsis of the process:

The flowers from the Altenew floral frame stamp set were stamped using archival jet black ink onto bielo cardstock. Zig markers and an aqua brush were used to color the images which were fussy cut. The leaves from the same stamp set were stamped onto the card panel which is a stitched rectangle die cut. Then the leaves were also colored with zig markers and for some added interest (and to cover up a mistake I made while coloring) the green color was spread outside the leaves, it is fun that in the end, the look is nice :) The fussy cut flowers were layered and arranged on the card panel and adhered with Tombow glue. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and it was stamped with archival jet black ink. To finish off, 3 enamel dots in matching colors were added and some splatter was created with watered down black paint. In the end, the panel was adhered in a titled way to the black card base to create interest.

List of Supplies:

Altenew Floral Frame Stamp Set
Bielo Cardstock (300 gsm)

Post 130: Mixed Media Card (The Sands of Time)

Hi friends!

Thanks for visiting my blog :) I'd like to share a vintage card today which is inspired by Indian Mughal History, I call it the Sands of Time, the title also happens to be a book by Sidney Sheldon, I remember reading it as a teenager and thoroughly enjoying it. This is a side folding 6 by 6 size mixed media card.

Synopsis of the process:

The card panel is a pattern paper from the Papericious Incredible India paper pad which was cut slightly smaller than the card base. Then its edges were deckled using a distress tool. Then a couple of images from the same paper pad - Shah Jahan and Taj Mahal were fussy cut. A few die cuts (vintage clock, leaves) along with some strips and strings of burlap and gauze were layered along with the fussy cut images and adhered with tombow glue. Further, some colored texture paste was applied through the gothic stencil to give more dimension. The paste was colored by mixing it with 2 color sprays. Some shading was done to the fussy cut images using a black zig  marker and an aqua brush. Then Shah Jahan's image was decorated with gems and jewels and a big jewel and feather were added to his head turban. The sentiment is from a martha stewart punch, the alphabets were colored with distress inks (to give a vintage worn out look) and then arranged and adhered to the card. A 3-D flower was added to Shah Jahan's hand for added interest.

Heat embossing was done on the Dusty Attic foliage chipboard to create a shiny yellowish-green textured bumpy look, to achieve this, besides the watermark ink some glue was also applied to it and the 2 embossing powders (lemon yellow and metalline green) were mixed and used on the chipboard to make it stand out against the busy background. The sentiment "sweet baby" is cut from one of the papers in the same nana's nursery paper stack and matted with a greenish paper from the autumn melody stack.
