The colors of Love (or a birthday)

Flourishes is having a new release of stamps for January and I saw a preview today of some floral hearts...so very pretty, I will be adding this to my collection for sure!
As seems to be customary for Flourishes at release time, they have issued a colour challenge to make a card using pink/white and red and you can win the new release of stamps.  Pretty exciting to me and I am always up for a challenge to make a few cards to add to my birthday stash (it is a small stash right now)
I inked up this new set from last month Flourishes called Mix n Mugs first stamping the mug onto a scrap of pink paper and cut out and then the floral bouquet directly onto some white card stock and cut with a Labels 14 Spellbinders Nestabilities die.  I coloured with Copics (I need more variety in the pinks) and cut slits along the stems and also in the top of the mug.  This let me insert the bouquet into the mug :)  The background ledger-like paper is a Cosmo Cricket from the Girl Friday collection.  The borders were made with Basic Grey papers from the Bittersweet collection and I used a MS border punch and an EK Success punch.  I stamped the birthday sentiment directly onto a MS embossed heart sticker...easy!
Thanks for taking a peek today,
Cheers!

DTGD~Rooster Thank You

Another DTGD card, this one is for 2 challenges DTGD10DeborahLynneS and DTGD10StamperSharon.  I am having fun with these challenges!  Thank You SCS "Dirty Gals"  I look forward to this event each year!
The image is a newly acquired Lockhart rooster and when I saw it, I knew I wanted to use this to paper piece with.  I reached for my CosmoCricket Garden Variety 6X6 paper pad and a few scraps of CC Early Bird.  I love how his little eye was stamped on the edge of a flower pint and the eyeball is the flower center.  I used a couple of the oversized rectangles from Spellbinders for the panels and edged some of them with my "sketch" side of a Copic marker.  The rooster's comb and dangly bit(don't know the official name of this) was also coloured with a Copic.  I stamped the Thank You in Memnto Tux. black with a PTI stamp from this year's anniversary set and punched it out with a SU small oval punch.  The little flowers were also punched with the trio flower SU punch and I added rhinestones to the centers.  The flourish is a Sizzlets "Scribbles" die and I added rhinestones to it also.
So that is it for this  card, hope I get to make another today before I leave for work this afternoon!  Have a great day, and thanks for peeking in!

Dear Friend CT100!

This is what I came up with using THE big challenge colours.
There is quite the party going on over at the CT blog, trust me and go check it out for yourself!  Lots of wonderful prizes, waiting to be won.
Onto my little card...the card base is Baja Breeze and I used this wonderful dp from the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird line as it has BB and Certainly Celery in this cute pattern.  I then created a center panel with BB and gave it a tiny pierced scallop border with an EK border punch.  I stitched that onto the center of the card and added this great SU sentiment and cut out with a Spellbinders Label One die, edged it in BB and popped it onto foam.  I had these great glazed Heidi Grace pieces, a button bird and a cute bird tile sitting on the window ledge that I thought would work quite well with this colour theme, so I cut out two flowers in Certainly Celery with a PTI flower die and edged these in BB.  I added the HG bird to one of the flowers and a button from my stash.  Both of these "buttons" are threaded with a length of narrow pink silk ribbon that I bought at a brand new needlework shop...today!
Here is a close up of the bird tile and the red blind pull.  That's all the red I could manage...

I have to tell you, these colours really made me work and think, but I like the way it turned out :)
Thanks for taking a peek...now go and check out this wonderful Color Throwdown Bash!

Happy 100th Color Throwdown gals!
Thanks for taking a peek,

Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone! I have been absent for a little while and have really missed my stamping and posting. I so appreciate all of the kind thoughts and comments about my mom. My sister and I found a great place for mom to live and she will get the care she needs there. I feel really good about that and we will reassess the situation as the months go by...
For my first card that I created after my return I used Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety 6 X 6 paper pad. This card was created for a dear friend that I worked with for 5 years at Smith and Hawken and it is a very rare week that we do not see each other.
I paired the CC papers with a PTI sentiment and this adorable Lockhart colander full of cherries stamp that I stamped in Memento Tuxedo black and colored with Copic markers and added some crystal effects to the cherries for a nice gloss and dimension. The border is a MS punch.
Easy Peasy, Berry Cherry!
Thanks for taking a peek!
