A couple more pink Valentines

Hi there, yes, I am creating with pink, believe it or not!  I find these papers so delightful and easy to work with,  They are the Basic Grey Bittersweet and a new K and CO.
This first card is for a challenge at Card Patterns Sketch, #98.  I love the panels and added simple stitching to them.  The felt hearts are some that I picked up at Michael's and have been having fun with them!  I stamped the Hero Arts "lots of hugs" onto white cs and just cut out and applied to the hearts with glue.  Th flower that I created with started with this MS doily and some PTI and CuttleBug dies.  I added a Jenni Bowlin vintage style button that I got at Ellen's a while ago and filled in the button hole with some tiny dangly cuttings from some lace and then added some MS glitter.  I had also wrapped the bottom striped panel with some MS baker's twine and added a punched out heart.  SIMPLE!  Here is a close-up of the different layers.
The next card  is a just for fun card that I wanted to create movement with the felt hearts.  I used the K and CO papers for the main card front and for the punched out heart that is centered in the middle of the crocheted lace panel.  The little embossed paper heart is a MS and the little floral stick pin is from the same K and CO collection.  Same amount of stamping on this card :)
Thanks for looking and I hope that you are having a safe and warm week!
Cheers!

The colors of Love (or a birthday)

Flourishes is having a new release of stamps for January and I saw a preview today of some floral hearts...so very pretty, I will be adding this to my collection for sure!
As seems to be customary for Flourishes at release time, they have issued a colour challenge to make a card using pink/white and red and you can win the new release of stamps.  Pretty exciting to me and I am always up for a challenge to make a few cards to add to my birthday stash (it is a small stash right now)
I inked up this new set from last month Flourishes called Mix n Mugs first stamping the mug onto a scrap of pink paper and cut out and then the floral bouquet directly onto some white card stock and cut with a Labels 14 Spellbinders Nestabilities die.  I coloured with Copics (I need more variety in the pinks) and cut slits along the stems and also in the top of the mug.  This let me insert the bouquet into the mug :)  The background ledger-like paper is a Cosmo Cricket from the Girl Friday collection.  The borders were made with Basic Grey papers from the Bittersweet collection and I used a MS border punch and an EK Success punch.  I stamped the birthday sentiment directly onto a MS embossed heart sticker...easy!
Thanks for taking a peek today,
Cheers!

Bittersweet Cupcake

Hello again everyone. Hope you are all enjoying your week-end. It has been record cold here in Austin! I am staying inside and keeping warm and crafting a little ;)
This is the latest challenge that I attempted. It is from Taylor VB. I don't have any of Taylor's stamps just yet, but wanted to work with this fab sketch she put out there, so here it is...
I am in the Valentine mode right now and enjoying this same paper pack from last year, Basic Grey's Bittersweet. I love the rich colours and I'm pretty sure that this won't be the last card you will see that I create using this pretty dp. The card base is a textured Bazzil chocolate, layered on top of that is SU Pirouhette Pink, the stripe from Bittersweet and another square of the flourished pattern from Bittersweet. The little cupcake (a new Lockheart that I bought from Ellen Hutson last week) was stamped in SU
basic brown and coloured in with my Copic markers and then I glazed the hearts. Don't know if you can tell from this photo, but they pop out a little.
The cupcake was then placed on a petite scalloped circle and that was placed on a CB heart die shape.
I made the little tag and cut out the stamped SU phrase hugs & kisses and arranged on the tag. I had this length of fine brown twine that I wrapped around the card front before I attached to the card base and tied this teeny-tiny bow, that took a couple of tries :) Thanks for peeking in,

"Cranberry and Lattice" embroidered heart

Here is my take on the Card Positioning System sketch # 148. I kept this very simple, and like the result. I took my cue from the sketch, of course, and this strip of Basic Grey pattern paper from last year's Bittersweet collection. This is from the 6 X 6 paper pad. The two other textured card stocks are Bazzil, a soft chocolate and a deep cranberry colour. The focal image is simple a heart punched with a MS lattice heart punch and I did some stitching around the edges with a "pretty darn close enough" cranberry coloured embroidery thread. I like the different texture that this brings to the paper world ;) The heart was then placed onto a rounded corner square of the cranberry and then onto the chocolate scalloped square. The two little hearts on the right side were stamped with a sentiment from SU and punched out with another older MS hearts punch and layered onto the same cranberry colour card stock that I punched out larger hearts from. I placed a little cranberry heart in between the two in place of the "&" symbol. The background cranberry panel was embossed with my Retro Diamonds EF. Very easy card!
I like easy.
Thanks for peeking in again,

Pink Thank You WSC76

Here is my try at the WSC.  This took me a lot longer than I would like to admit!  The colours and papers that I started with are not these ones...anyway, the papers are from Basic Grey "Bittersweet" and the chenille border is from MM.  I thought it went nicely with the soft patternd paper and I cut out the bottom flowers from the bittersweet paper.  Not much stamping, just a SU sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek.
