Tuesday's bring Cosmos

Good Friday to all! I made a card for the Tuesday Trigger weekly category over on the Moxie Fab World blog. This week's trigger was presented to us from Nina Brackett of Crafting in Croatia. She showed us a pretty purse she had her eye on and here is what I came up with :)
A very simple card using Prima flowers that I had in my stash, some K and Co. paper scraps and the perfect Cosmo Cricket polka dot dp. I used a new MS "Quilted Edge" border punch (I like this one a lot!) on the K and Co. paper and added some floral pink rhinestones to the open circles of the punched work and some larger ones to the flower centers. A really easy card that I think I just might duplicate in some other colour combinations.
Thanks Nina for the great inspiration!
Have a great rest of the day and a good start to your week-end!

Mello Yellow Hospitality

Good morning all! No snow today, the sun is shining brightly and we should get into the 50's today. Where is Spring?
Where are the Texas Bluebonnets? Well, it is a little early for that, but in the meantime, Cath's MoxieFabWorld's Tuesday Trigger was this card. I don't use yellow often enough and it's a colour that I definitely associate with Spring, so this is my try at my yellow inspired (with a twist of blue for the Bluebonnets;) card.

I used 2 of the quilt blocks from PaperTreys' Quilters Sampler Additions stamp set on white PTI card stock. Punched out with a 3/4" square punch, coloured with a Copic marker and adhered to a piece of yellow patterned paper from the Citrus Stack. I am also using the sketch from SCS #269. I also do not use triangle very often in my cards, so this card was a double challenge effort!
The other pattern papers are also from the Citrus Stack and I like the way that they co-ordinate together. The sentiment is from the Quilter's Sample PTI set that has wonderful images in it. I stamped it in the same black ink (PTI True Black) and I pierced around the edge and sewed some embroidery floss around it, keeping with a stitching theme.

For fun, and because it happens to be yellow, I photographed the card on my new microfiber dusting mitt that I picked up from WS last week ;) It has not been used yet...for dusting that is!

Have a great day!
