Calling All Moms!

ANNETTE

Saturday began as a normal day but was soon much more delicious. At 8:30am, we headed to the Anderson's house for Annette's Mother's Day. Cosmo was working Sunday, so we planned to get together Saturday morning. Andrew and I Tori made crepes and Chris brought all this deliciousness to top them. Cosmo made bacon galore and seriously everything was yummy! The down side - MY CAMERA WAS DEAD! I am so mad, what a blogging disappointment! But really, it was a wonderful morning and we were able to then head home just in time for naps.

The first one out; ANDREW! Yes, this is what happens when you fall asleep on Mother's Day weekend! I had both feet done and I wanted to get a shot of that, but by the time my battery was charged, he was up and already removing the polish :( I guess he didn't want it on for the games Saturday night.

MY MORNING

Sunday morning Andrew let me sleep in - really, this isn't out of the ordinary. Weekends I get to stay in bed until about 7:30 and Andrew mans the children in the living room. But this weekend he brought me crepes in bed. And yes, he brought me a little friend. She had already eaten her breakfast, but you couldn't tell by the way she devoured mine!

I wanted to then get a nice break and so I decided to head to Mint. Cyn. to hear Danny speak and to see my mommy friends. It was nice being in church not worrying about my kids disturbing those around us. No pressure :)

When I got home the kids were lounging - Sunday mornings are pretty lazy around here, and I think that's what I don't like about 1pm church. But anyway, once we were all dressed and ready to go, we attempted a few group shots.

GRANDMA SUE / ANNETTE

When we arrived at church, Andrew found out he didn't have to teach. Annette, Tori, the kids, Jill & Ben were planning on visiting Sue's grave site at 2PM, so as soon as Sacrament was over, we ran out of church and headed to meet them all. Even though we celebrated Annette on Saturday, we still felt bad not seeing her Sunday.

It was nice to get out in the fresh air, even though it was a bit too cold for me. We had a little picnic with some snacks and planted some flowers.

Ryan was hilarious because he spotted a little sparkly windmill. He went on his own adventure to find it, but Andi didn't approve. She went after him, yelling as she did her dress scoot to catch up to him (mind you, Sunday she was still not walking!). Jackson eventually noticed all that was going on, so he then went to rescue Ryan. I love that they all look after one another!

Again, there are always many attempts in taking group shots!

CYNTHIA
From the cemetery, we headed right back to Acton for my mom's Mother's Day. Again, Andi devoured the food, before dinner even began. She found the giant serving fork and helped herself. Yes, she ate 1.5 hot dogs. Ew! She also found the strainer to be a hilarious toy. And Ry, he's my happy little man! But he's also my sleepy little man.

Dinner was nice and relaxing and it's just so great to see my siblings readily help and entertain my children. And my parents gave me the opportunity to go shopping, for me! Imagine that.... although I have to say it was still tempting to buy the kids some clothes. They are so much cheaper!

MY EVENING
Because Andrew knew Sunday wouldn't really be about me, he made an appointment for me to get a massage Monday, right after work. The best part about this (and I write this for the sake of my memory) he had to make some sacrifices to make this happen. During this time in our lives, this meant the world to me.

When I arrived home, relaxed and ready to eat, dinner was prepared and the cupcakes were in abundance. Andrew made Mexican of course and the kids helped with the frosting. I swear, we did not eat all of these, many made it to the trash on Wednesday!

The kids were hilarious and so good, I couldn't believe they were still up at 8pm and NOT CRANKY! That's amazing. It might have had something to do with the sugar :)

I truly am blessed. Before I was a mother, I was surrounded by mom's. In one way or another, I had many, all throughout my childhood, adolescence and today! These examples are priceless!!!! And now, here I am blessed to be the mother of three sweet, exhilarating children. I mean seriously, even during our most trying times, they can instantly bring a smile to my face. I am blessed and I am thankful to all the mother's in my life!

(I always forget to use youtube for the videos - it's SO MUCH QUICKER!)
