Chenderoh Lake & Air Kuning

 Packed and departed for Chenderoh Lake for a weekend trip....

Breakfast at highway rest n stop station,..... not much choice but the rice with the curry paste was just fine for me...

As usual, this is not a very "happening" lake at all,.... the whole morning was as silent as the grave yard....

 Show was so lucky that he caught one right from the group of surfacing Sebaraus...

 And that's it for today...... sighhhhh.... Nothing came up after that....

 We went to Air Kuning the next day....

Freshwater shrimp around the Air Kuning swamp....

Simple packed lunch, pork skin & vermicelli in curry gravy....

A Haruan (Common Snakehead) caught with Noni's spinnerbait....

Caught a unique freshwater puffer fish.... isn't it cute?! But be careful of it's sharp teeth....

Sighhhh! What is wrong with the Air Kuning's ponds?! Too much pressure from over fishing in the area? It is getting harder and harder to score a good size Peacock Bass nowadays.....

Saw a group of young Malay boys fishing from the bank.... and a big big fight is in action....

After some fight the fish was pulled to the shore....

A huge Giant Gourami... caught with the oil palm seed.....

Well, that's all for this trip..... no dramatic event happened..... sigh!!!

Peacock Bass of Air Kuning

Air Kuning again.... This time I have my friend Ben with me for a 2D1N trip...

Reached there in the early morning....

Launching my little boat...

A slow start in the morning.... Baby Toman...

After a while without any sign of the Peacock Bass, we moved to the next pond..... and this pond is full of water liliy plants....

A local fisherman harvesting the water lily pods for the lotus seed that he can sell in the markets....

Hahaha! Ben's first catch....

Suddenly I hooked up a big Toman while aiming for a Peacock bass.....

Phewww!... So lucky, I never thought I could get this guy up with a 10lb line since there were a lot of water lilies in the surrounding..... Cheers!!

Thanks for it's presence,... it made my day...

There after it was back to square one,... we only managed to catch some small fellas again only....

..... sighhhhh!

Dark clouds suddenly engulfed us....

We seek cover under the foliage....

But the rain didn't seem to stop anytime soon that afternoon....

Well, this is fishing.....

Back to Air Kuning

 It has been a while since my last visit to Air Kuning area....

 Last weekend Masabou and I went to look for Peacock Bass.....

Although this Toman is not big,... It was a real satisfaction because it was caught according to my way tactically....

 After that another Juvenile Toman....

 And Masabou's Peacock Bass....

 Yet another Juvenile Toman again.... Where is the Peacock Bass for me?!!.....

 Caught with my proto-type spinner bait....

Under the hot sun after lunch without any catches.... We call of the day after 3pm and went back for some good food and beer..... hehehe!

 We tried a new pond the next morning....

We couldn't find the big Peacock Basses where they are,... I managed to hook up some small fellas.... much to my dismay....sighhh!....
