Lest we Forget!

Butterfly 3 The Sunday Stamper challenge this week is Butterflys! I have used Dan's template to create mine. The Holocaust Museum in Houston is planning an exhibition in Spring 2012, to commemorate the 1.5 million children who died during the Holocaust.
The exhibition will be a display of 1.5 million butterflies, 1 for each child that died.

The museum is asking for help. They want crafters/scrapbookers/stampers to create the butterflies for them and send them to the museum. There are no rules other than your butterflies can be no larger than 8" x 10" and must NOT have glitter on it.

You can find more information about the project here: http://www.hmh.org/minisite/butterfly/index.html

If you are wondering about that delicious swirl stamp I have used ... well it is brand new from the Artistic Stamper and I love love love it!!!!

Window to the soul!

ATC 259 "They" say the eyes are the window to the soul! Not sure who "they are" mind!

This weeks TMTA theme is eyes, so I have used eyes for the backing and I also used Dan's wonderful template #1 for the window.

The little words are Doodads from Sir Tim and the eye colours are Derwent Aqua Tone.

You would think a girl would have more to say after not blogging for an entire week .... but sadly I have n't!

Great challenge though :0)

Dan's Template #6

DBox1 I set out this morning to make a "Congratulations on the safe arrival of your first Grandchild card" for a colleague at work. dbox2

Before I started I popped in on Dan to see what this week's template was ..... and it is in fact an exploding box template!

dbox3 So without further ado my card escalated to an exploding box and this is the finished article.

The papers are from K & Co and I have used various stamps from A stamp in the Hand and Clear Choice. All the images have been coloured using Derwent Aquatones and I have embossed the black in clear powder first to make the outline "pop"

All the layers are decorated but holding a camera and layers of the box and still taking a focused image is just a tad too difficult for me :0)

Dans ma maison il y a ... du rose!

DMM4 Earlier tonight [technically now last night] was the launch of this week's Dans ma maison challenge.

This week the theme is Pink ..... which is very handy because I was in a bit of a pink mood!

In fact, looking at my finished house .... I would say I was in a very pink mood!

The gorgeous flower is stitchels again and the door [which is technically a window] is from the Artistic Stamper.

I used Dan's Saturday template #1 again - because I love, love, love the quirky shape - can't wait to see his template for this week :0) which will be available later today ..... or it may even be now .... I shall go and check!

Dans ma maison il y a ...

DMM2 .... un garcon.

For this challenge I have used a page from an old book and covered it with Gesso. Actually that covers the Saturday work out challenge as well as the Dans ma maison il y a challenge. Two for one - can't be bad!

I have used Dan's Saturday template #1 which was a house. That also reminds me .... don't forget to visit Dan and grab this week's fab free template #4.

The boy stamp I have used is from the Crafting guru otherwise known as Mr. Tim.

I hope you like the way I decorated my house.

This is the house that Jack built!

Did I say Jack? I meant Dan! Dan template house

This is Dan's house from his fabulous new blog feature "Template Saturday".

Dan designs the templates and organises free downloads until the following Saturday when he changes the template .... this week it is his fabulous flowers, which I personally cannot wait to play with!

Anyway, I downloaded the house template into word and then shrunk it. I have now made a cardboard template of the design so I have my own Dan house forever more!!! How cool is that!

Dan built the house and I filled it with sunshine for this week's Dans ma maison il ya challenge which is du soleil this week.
