Story House Egmont and Mattel Launch 'Monster High' Magazine

Story House Egmont and Mattel have announced a multi-market launch of a new Monster High magazine.

Story House Egmont and Mattel have announced a partnership that has seen a Monster High magazine launch across the UK, GSA, Nordic and CEE markets. Based on the hugely successful Monster High franchise, the magazine launched in the UK market on 3rd July 2024, followed by launches in other markets later in the month.

Bastian Mai, Global Licensing director at Story House Egmont, said: “We have a longstanding publishing partnership with Mattel and its evergreen brands. We are delighted to be adding a multi-territory launch of Monster High to this partnership. Story House Egmont is a market leader in all markets where it operates, and this gives us a strong position to launch this amazing IP into the market.”

Siobhan Galvin, commercial director at Story House Egmont UK, who leads on the market activation, said: “We are thrilled to be launching Monster High magazine this summer. We have secured great listings at retail, and we expect young fans to be delighted with how the magazine enriches the Monster High world. Ever since Monster High’s original launch in 2010, the franchise has been rooted in storytelling. Based on the children of famous monsters, the franchise seeks to foster a more accepting world where everyone is proud to be their authentic self. Today, Monster High is back with a reimagined set of characters reflected in new dolls, new animated content and movies, new books, accessories, apparel, costumes and more.

The Monster High magazine will be the perfect addition to this licensing programme, with every issue focusing on the editorial pillars of friendship, individuality, fashion and storytelling.

All-new stories will be created using assets from the new TV series, and activities will be linked to areas of the Monster High school with a narrative purpose to extend the storytelling. There will be a dedicated fashion section with doodle and stick activities to design new looks for readers and their dolls. Plus, tips to customise old clothes with readers’ signature style. The aim to let readers’ express themselves and explore who they are underpins each issue.

Every issue will come with an exclusive Monster High gift that is linked to the magazine content, but also designed to be enjoyed by fans off-the-page and added to their Monster High collection. Issues will also feature Monster High posters, crafts, and activities. New issues will be released monthly.

Monster High #1 comes with a gore-geous accessory set, a design & doodle notebook, creeperific Draculara facts, a fangtastic story, 120 stickers, and the chance to create Clawsome clutch bags.

Egmont to Relaunch 'SpongeBob' Magazine in Germany

Egmont Ehapa Media has announced the spongeriffic news that Nickelodeon's beloved animated series SpongeBob SquarePants is returning to the magazine shelves in Germany with the relaunch of SpongeBob Schwammkopf Magazin!


Each issue of SpongeBob Schwammkopf Magazin will feature 24+ pages of funny stories about the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom, and will also feature fantastic knowledge and information about the flora and fauna of the oceans. But not only that! SpongeBob and Patrick have set up a laboratory in the magazine for unusual experiments, in which the two also teach clever things in an unbeatably humorous way. Jokes, colouring and puzzle pages round out the offering.

The first issue of SpongeBob Schwammkopf Magazin will be released on May 12, with new issues being released every two months. The magazine is aimed at children aged 6-10 years old and to all fans of the iconic yellow sponge. Issue #1 will come with a ping-pong set featuring the faces of SpongeBob and Patrick as a free gift.

SpongeBob Schwammkopf Magazin was originally published in Germany by Egmont Ehapa Media GmbH between 2003 and 2014.

Redan Celebrates 15 Years of 'Fun to Learn Peppa Pig' Magazine

Redan Publishing is marking 15 years of Fun to Learn Peppa Pig magazine this February.


The popular fortnightly title hasn’t fallen outside of the top ten of all children’s magazines since it was first published and, during this time, has predominantly placed in the top three in the preschool sector.

Each issue encompasses activities for preschoolers such as storytelling, colouring, sticking, playing, making and baking, all inspired by the beloved preschool series.

When asked what her favourite issue of the title was, Fun to Learn Peppa Pig’s editor, Deb Harrison, told Licensing Source that so many issues of the magazine stand out “as there have been such a lot of fun episodes to work with and each one draws new inspiration for us”.

Deb added: “We did a Royal issue years ago and sent a copy to the Duchess of Cambridge to celebrate Prince George’s first birthday. We received a letter back from the Palace thanking us, which was a real honour. The ‘specials’ have also been great fun to work on, such as Golden Boots, Around the World and Peppa visiting Hollywood. We recently used the episode ‘Mandy Mouse’s Birthday’ where we created a ‘River of cheese’ maze from Cheese Land.”

Redan Publishing Launches 'Fun To Learn The Adventures of Paddington' Magazine in the U.K.

Redan Publishing has partnered with The Copyrights Group to add The Adventures of Paddington to its Fun to Learn range.


Launching on Wednesday 7 April, the educational gender neutral magazine is aimed at ages 3-6, with each issue containing 36 pages including a mix of stickers, stories, crafts, recipes, a themed 12-page workbook, games, posters and cut-out activities.

Published under Redan’s Fun to Learn branding, content is aimed at nurturing key learning skills and follows the National Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage.

Fun To Learn The Adventures of Paddington perfectly complements the charm and humour of The Adventures of Paddington TV series by extending the escapades of the lovable bear into entertaining and educational activities in the magazine,” commented Julie Jones, Managing Director (MD) of Redan Publishing. “Wholesome traits strongly associated with Paddington such as kindness, family and friendship resonate through the magazine. Tips and notes for grown-ups reinforces these themes by encouraging them to take time to journey through the activities together with their young children to help them grow, learn and develop.”

Julie continued: “With our wealth of experience in creating content for early learners, we feel confident we’ve put together a product that will delight the new generation of Paddington Bear fans as well as their grown-ups.”

Egmont Launches Milkshake! Magazine in the UK

New compilation magazine will feature characters from hit shows on the preschool TV block.


Egmont Publishing will launch a new magazine later this month dedicated to Channel 5’s kids’ programming block Milkshake!

The fun and engaging compilation magazine is aimed at three to five-year-olds, and features characters from favourite Milkshake! shows, including Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom and Thomas & Friends, as well as their favourite Milkshake! presenters too.

All 44 pages of Egmont’s first issue of Milkshake! magazine will be full of preschool fun, plus an extra eight-page Peppa Pig mini-mag and Peppa Pig shopping set, so Milkshake! readers can extend the world of play and discovery beyond the magazine.

Egmont has undertaken extensive research, meaning that the magazine’s content will be rooted in Early Years Foundation Stage learning, delivered through fun and play. Egmont’s Ages and Stages insight will ensure that content caters to multiple skill levels and abilities, while there will also be bonus ideas for parents to help boost their child’s learning as they chat, play and read with family.


Kiran Vara, Publisher of Milkshake! magazine, says: “We’re thrilled to be launching our take on Milkshake! magazine and to be offering a high-quality magazine to the segment’s 1.6 million monthly viewers*.

“We’re sure that the package of Egmont’s lively and engaging editorial, vibrant, contemporary design and quality covermounts will mean that this new look magazine is a big hit with Milkshakers!”

Over the next twelve months, Milkshake! magazine will be promoted at the end of Milkshake! programmes on air. Milkshake! fans will also be in with a chance to win a year’s worth of the new magazine, as a competition to win subscriptions will run on air and online. As well as social media advertising across Milkshake! and Egmont platforms, a website takeover for Milkshake! magazine will run on popular parenting website, UKMums.tv.

During its day-part, Milkshake! is the top performing TV segment on a free-to-air channel and is currently experiencing a 15 per cent growth in kids’ viewership year on year.

Issue one hits newsstands on Wednesday 12th February 2020 and is priced at £4.99.

The new Milkshake! magazine brings Channel 5’s multi-platform preschool brand back to the publishing sector.

Na rynku ukazał się nowy magazyn dla dzieci "44 Cats" (Media Service Zawada). Powstał na podstawie serialu o kotach Lampo, Pilou, Milady i Klopsiku.

Od czwartku, 30 stycznia w kioskach dostępny będzie nowy magazyn wydawnictwa Media Service Zawada dla dzieci, który opowie o przygodach kotów i ich przyjaźni.

Czwórka bohaterów grających w zespole muzycznym śpiewając, ma uczyć i bawić małych czytelników. W każdym wydaniu na dzieci będzie czekać opowiadanie, łamigłówki oraz konkursy z nagrodami. W każdym numerze znajdzie się także prezent związany ze światem kotów.

Magazyn promuje kampania telewizyjna w TVP ABC, Nickelodeon, Nick Junior, kampania internetowa, reklamy w prasie branżowej oraz w tytułach własnych wydawcy.

Oprócz magazynu "44 Cats", dostępne są także książki z naklejkami i opowiadaniami. Planowane są kolejne książki oraz filmy.

Pismo kosztuje 9,99 zł i posiada 28 stron. Jego format wynosi 215 x 280 mm, a grupą docelową są dzieci w wieku 3-6 lat.

Firma Media Service Zawada, wydająca głównie czasopisma i książki dla dzieci, w ub.r. zanotowała spadek przychodów o 7,8 proc. do 40,21 mln zł oraz zysku netto z 2,11 mln zł do 879,8 tys. zł. Ma 2,6 mln zł zaległych należności od przeżywających ogromne problemy spółek dystrybucyjnych Ruch, Super Siódemka i WIKR.

Egmont Polska Launches 'Top Wing' Magazine in Poland

Poland - Egmont Polska has launched Top Wing, a brand-new bimonthly magazine for preschoolers based on Nickelodeon's top-rated CG-animated preschool series of the same name!


In each issue of Top Wing Ptasia Akademia, readers will be able to read new stories featuring Swift, Penny, Rod and Brody, best friend rescue birds who are training to earn their wings at the Top Wing Academy on Big Swirl Island. With the help of their mentor Speedy, and unique turbo-charged vehicles and high-tech gadgets, the cadets are assigned different missions to sharpen their rescue skills and help those in need while learning valuable lessons along the way, as well as

Each issue will also feature specially designed tasks, puzzles and games which aim to help your children acquire new skills, such as recognising letters, shapes and numbers. Each exercise will also help develop a child's creativity and imagination.

Each 32-page issue will come with posters and toys related to the series. Issue 1 will be accompanied by a figure with a stamp featuring Cadet Swift.


The price of each issue is 10,99 zł.

Top Wing is targeted towards girls and boys aged 2-5 years. The magazine's editor-in-chief is Joanna Szabunio, and is published under license from Nickelodeon.

The launch of Top Wing magazine will be accompanied by an advertising campaign, which includes broadcast TV spots, communication on social media and Egmont's own media. In addition to Top Wing magazine, Egmont Polska also publishes Top Wing books based on the series.

The news follows Egmont publishing a Top Wing-themed issue of Showcase Magazine in April 2019.

School is in Session at the Berlin School of Arts When 'Spotlight' Returns for Season 4 on Nickelodeon Germany, Austria and Switzerland

The summer holidays are once again drawing to a close, and a new school year is about to commence at the Berlin School of Arts, a school where regular subjects including maths, German and English, as well as artistic subjects such as singing, dancing and acting are on the curriculum, when Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland), Austria (Österreich) and Switzerland's (Schweiz) hugely popular locally produced cross-media daily TV series Spotlight returns for a fourth season on Sunday 15th September 2019, bringing with it new and familiar faces!

Update (25/11) - Nickelodeon Deutschland will air a special Spotlight TV movie over Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th December 2019!


Joining the cast for Spotlight season four are new students Mads (Mike Leon Lichtenberg), Nele (Alexandra Herbst) and Sam (Jerome Weinert).

In Spotlight season four, numerous secrets ensure a true jumble of emotions: Rocco (Malcom Meckert) does not dare to stand by his feelings for Greta (Chiara Tews); with the help of Milan (Simon Zeller), new classmate Nele (Alexandra Herbst) tries to gain the self-confidence they need to shine in dance lessons; and a secretive competitor tries to grab Prank King Tim's (Moritz Schirdewahn) crown. Meanwhile, Emily (Nevena Schöneberg) launches the online channel "Insider" in which she becomes a rabid reporter to fight for student rights.

Season four will also see the Berlin School of Arts students travel to a completely new location when they head on vacation to an ultra-cool Creative Camp on the lake, where casual rapper Mads (Mike Leon Lichtenberg), new to the school, falls head over heels in Lotte (Jesina Amweg), and emotions run high for their classmates! The trip will also see crazy pranks and very special performances. The internationally successful twins Marcus & Martinus will be among the very special guest stars.

Meet the New Students

Enrolling at the Berlin School of Arts in season four are:

- Cool rapper Mads wants to become a successful musician, and, with his own tracks a star - but without giving up the credibility. He is played by Mike Leon Lichtenberg, a musician in real life who has already amassed more than 100,000 fans on his Instagram profile @mikeleon_.

- The shy Nele wants to prevail in her dream of dancing at the Berlin School of Arts and must fight for it. She is portrayed by newcomer Alexandra Herbst.

- With Sam, the school gets a new competitor for the title of Oberprankers. Sam wants to prove himself as a comedian and actor. The crazy joker is portrayed by Jerome Weinert.

Following launch, new episodes will air everyday at 19:50 Uhr on Nickelodeon Deutschland and at 19:55 Uhr on Nickelodeon Österreich and Nickelodeon Schweiz. Each episode will also air on nick.de/spotlight.

Spotlight season four will feature 93 episodes and will be once again produced by UFA Serial Drama. Production on the fourth season of Spotlight commenced in July 2019.

Like previous seasons, Spotlight season four will extend to digital, allowing fans to access further Spotlight material from their favourite characters on social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram (@SpotlightDeutsch) and TikTok.

On Spotlight season four, Ulrike Lehmann (Nickelodeon) serves as Editor, Helga Löbel (UFA SERIAL DRAMA) serves as Producer, along with Claudia Danne, and Jasmin Schelling serves as Junior Producer.
