The Chair laid before the Senate a communication from the Secretary of the Treasury recommending the passage of an act providing that all four per cent. bonds and certificates received under the act of 17th of February, 1864, in payment of taxes, be considered as redeemed, and be cancelled, and charged against any funds in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. The communication was ordered to be printed.
On motion, by Mr. Hill, of Georgia, the Senate resolved into secret session.
The doors being opened, on motion, by Mr. Barnwell, the Senate adjourned.
