Notice.

--Committed to jail, in Charlotte county. Virginia, on the 23d of October, 1864, a Negro Man, claiming to be free, but without any free papers, who calls himself John Evans and says he lives in Orange county, North Carolina. Said negro is about twenty-two years old; brown complexion; five feet ten inches high, and weighs one hundred and forty or one hundred and fifty pounds. Parties claiming must come forward and prove property, else he will be dealt with according to the law.
