--A reformed gambler in this city claims to have done more for the cause of total abstinence, within the past few days, than any lecturer could have done in as many months. He says he has bought up all the whiskey to be had, at enormous prices, and has thereby cut short entirely the supply to old topers, if he has not put a stop to moderate drinking.
