Attempt to Garots.

--On Friday night last, as a wounded soldier was passing along the plank road from the city in the direction of Camp Winder, he was set upon by two ruffians, who knocked him down, and attempted to choke and rob him. Has cries for help were heard by Mr. James Carter, who, on hastening to the scene, frightened off the thieves and saved the crippled man from robbery.
