The condemned.

--We understand that Capt. A who has been condemned to be hanged at Camp Lee on Friday for violating his people of honor will probably get a respite, which will prolong his life for a time, at least. Several reasons have been assigned why temporary clemency should be exercised towards him, not the least potent of which is the feel that he was recently dangerously wounded in an attempt to get out of prison.

P. S.--Since the above was written, we learn that the prisoner has been respited for ten days.--The reason stated for a postponement was the fact that the day appointed for the execution was "Good Friday." This highly satisfactory explanation will no doubt be accepted without an apology by the condemned.
