Election in Fauquier.
An election was hold in Fauquier county, Va., on the 1st inst., for a Senator to replace the late J. K. Marshall, and for a delegate in place of Mr. Payne, resigned. Mr. Alex. J. Payne was elected to the former place. Mr. Sampson P. Bagby was elected delegate over Col. J. E. Scruggs by about 30 votes. That portion of the county in which the strength of Col. S. lay was overrun by the Yankees, or it is almost certain he would have been elected. Mr. Bagby, we learn, is a gentleman of excellent sense, end will represent Fauquier excellently.
