--This notorious character has been removed to the jail of Bedford county, for safe-keeping, until the next term of the Circuit Court of Botetourt county. The Fincastle Express says:‘ Great relief has been afforded many of our citizens by this removal, as the Yankees were expected daily to visit our place to rescue the Doctor from the hands of justice. We learn that on the way he proposed to the sheriff who had him in charge, that if he would intercede with the Government and obtain his release, that he would swear allegiance to it, and raise a company in Nicholas to do battle in its cause.
