Confederate currency.

--The Memphis Appeal gives a notice to traitors, which we copy for the benefit of such persons as may be disposed to disparage the value of Confederate money:

We are happy to be able to state that proper steps have been taken by our military authorities to remedy in the future an evil to which we directed attention yesterday as prevalent to some extent in this city. We refer to the treasonable conduct of those sordid wretches who refuse to receive Confederate currency — miscreants who are us willing to risk a few dollars to achieve the independence of their country, while so many are risking not only their whole property, but their lives.

We are authorized to give due notice that after to-day the Provost Marshal is instructed to arrest all such as refuse the Government currency in payment of debts, at her old or new. So 1st their name be given in at headquarters, without respect to who they may be.
