Assistant Secretary of War.
We understand Hon. A. T. Bledsoe was yesterday of Assistant Secretary of Wary in pride resigned. It affords as pleasure to chronicle the appointment of such intellects and men of such merit to important positions in the Confederate Government. In such selections consists the strength and success, of a Government. It is to be hope that the War Department, under its new administration, will be possessed of that vigorous energy necessary in the present emergencies of the country.
