--Friends who know this insect when they see it, assure us that it is at present in this vicinity in quantities to suit any reasonable man, and that a number of grass plots on the suburbs have been entirely denuded of their surplus vegetation by the efforts of the industrious "worm." How far the insect has interfered with the crops in Virginia that it usually feeds on, we have no means of knowing.
