Getting ready.
--Several companies of the 19th and 197th Regiments indulged yesterday evening in public musters, the officers in command being determined to get their men ready in case their services should be demanded for the purpose of repelling the invaders from our soil. The military spirit is, however, so high now that we very much doubt whether an occasion could arise when it would be necessary to resort to the drafting process. When it is known that such a course is essential to the preservation of the public liberties, all the militia will come forward and volunteer to drive back the invaders of our soil. Most of the Virginia militia would prove anything but raw recruits. They know how to handle a gun, and banded together in regiments they have never yet run from any enemy.
