The Capture of Romney.
--The subjoined dispatch was sent from Chambersburg, Pa., June 13. We look upon it as a wholesale lie. It is true that the Federal troops occupied Romney, but if there was any skirmish on the occasion we never before heard of it:‘ Col. Lewis Wallace, who, with a portion of his Indiana regiment, left Cumberland on Tuesday to attack the Confederate camp at Romney, Va., surprised the enemy, and, after a sharp conflict, completely routed the 500 Secession troops composing the encampment, capturing a few prisoners, killing 2, wounding 1, and taking a first class camp equipage, provisions, medical stores, arms, etc. Only one of the Indiana troops was wounded. The victors have returned to Cumberland with their spoils.
