Disasters.
New York, Feb. 19.
--Schr. A. M. Acken, Capt. Peter Roff, hence for Virginia, while passing down the Lower Bay, and when within one mile of Sandy Hook at 3 A. M. to-day, was run into by the steamship Augusta from Savannah, cutting off the schooner's stern, destroying the mainsail, breaking the main boom, wheel and doing other serious damage.
The schr.
was towed to Red Hook in a sinking condition.
Capt. Roff states that although he hailed and told the steamer people that his vessel was sinking, they did not stop.
Bremen, Feb. 2.
--The Gundela bark, of Hamburg, Eckmann, from Richmond, Va., for this port, which was cut through by the ice, and put on shore off Insum Feb. 1, is now reported to be capsized.
