Coming back from Hayti.
--The New Orleans Picayune of January 30th, speaking of the arrival at that port of the American bark Laura, from Port-au-Prince, says: ‘ "She brought fifty-five passengers, of which fifteen are white men, and forty belong to the colored population of this State, who return home dissatisfied with their emigration experiment. A fact worthy of note is, that of these forty, only two are negroes — the others are mulattoes, with more or less clear complexions. This may in some way explain their return. The majority of the population of Hayti is composed of pure blacks, and the colored people here have not been in the habit of mixing completely with their black brethren." ’
