ἡδέως δ᾽ ἂν ἔγωγε πυθοίμην ὑμῶν εἰ ὀργίζεσθε τοῖς ἀνεσκευασμένοις τῶν τραπεζιτῶν. εἰ γὰρ ἐκείνοις ὀργίζεσθε δικαίως ὅτι ἀδικοῦσιν ὑμᾶς, πῶς οὐκ εἰκός ἐστιν βοηθεῖν τοῖς μηδὲν ἀδικοῦσιν; καὶ μὴν διὰ τούτους τοὺς ἄνδρας αἱ τράπεζαι ἀνασκευάζονται, ὅταν ἀπορούμενοι μὲν δανείζωνται καὶ οἴωνται διὰ τὴν δόξαν πιστεύεσθαι δεῖν, εὐπορήσαντες δὲ μὴ ἀποδιδῶσιν, ἀλλ᾽ ἀποστερῶσιν.
